I HAVE BEEN ON OXYCODONE FOR OVER 2 YEARS AND MY DRUG STORE RAN OUT AND GAVE ME ENDOCET? SAID IT WAS THE SAME THING BUT MY BODY TELLS ME THAT IT'S NOT THE SAME. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS CHANGE?

If that was me, I would be finding out who the owner of that pharmacy is. If it is the pharmacist, go higher. If the owner is someone different there, find out who they are and write a polite but to the point letter. That is just wrong! It is getting to the point where pharmacists get away with too much. They should be giving what the script says and nothing more. The whole idea of pain management is to find out what works for you and stick to it, thus, managing your pain and not experiencing the highs and lows thus, quality of life. As for your grand child's meds, that just proves they are incompetent. I would be digging further into these situations. If you don't speak up, they just keep getting away with this and one day it could be really serious if it has not happened already. Good luck!

I agree with you guys the generics are not as good as the brand name but my pharmacy made a mistake and when I took my perocet in to get filled and filled half with a white oblong pill and then there were some in there that had a M and a slash in the middle of them it turned they put some methodone in my bottle also saying they ran out of the other white ones and now I am being told I can not go back to my ptc I tried to tell the pharmacy but all she did was to tell me it was a generic perocet and who did the ptc believed them.It was cvs and I have changed cause they mixed up my grandchild meds up and she takes cortef and they filled both her bottles wirh the baflen it was after a dose I found the mistake and they did zero about it but it scared me to death but I did not get an apology or nothing from eirher mistake they made in fact they got mad and I changed pharmacies but it does not do me any good any suggestions please.

I agree, my drugstore automatically switched and I did not realize it until I had suffered for a day. Looked at the label and it was Endocet. I called the pharmacy and told them. Small town, so they let me exchange them for the Oxycodone. The difference was unreal.

I agree with you. I was taking Oxycodone for the last year and my insurance changed and instead of going to Walgreens, I have to go to CVS. They gave me Endocet and I have to take 2 to get any pain relief.

Jim...im going to assume u had used Percocet that was made by Watson pharmaceuticals. They recently merged with actavis pharm and discontinued making the Watson generic Percocet. Im assuming this becauae i too am having a hard time finding another medication, brand or generic to help manage my pain as well as the Watson generic Percocet s did. There are hundreds of people on this website, other sites and blogs, etc that are having this same issue ever since watson stopped making their drug. Search n u will see there are many who are having trouble finding relief now. For those of u who say all generic s r the same or generic s r the same as brand...etc...sorry but u r incorrect. They are all different from one another, brand or generic. One manufacturer is different from the other. I saw on here somewhere someone said there could be as much as 20% difference below or above...despite what ur all reciting here, he is absolutely correct. When actavis started to produce their generic Percocet when they merged with Watson, the actavis generic was making everyone ill on top of giving no pain relief. Many including myself called the company actavis and the fda to put in a complaint. The rep at actavis revealed that they were receiving complaints like mine. I also asked her about the differences in the makeup between the two and she confirmed what I already knew...she said their could be up to an 80/20 difference. ..I confirmed as little as 80% to as much as 120% difference n she said yes. SO you van all choose to believe what u want, copy whatever information u have in front of u on here....I know what it is and isn't. For all who are learning all this for the first time, I always say do ur research when u come across something u read and r wondering if true or not. Good luck in finding some pain relief jim

Bill I do agree with you on a couple of things. I do agree that Hydromorph is not Endocet they are different. I do agree that people come here to get help on meds. Because they come on there, they are in pain and battling other issues. For you to be on here and name calling is really not fair. Yes, I realize Endocet and Oxycodone and Percocet are one in the same. Difference is generic and brand name. I also know that there is a difference on how the generic brands tackle my pain. It is my understanding that it is the difference on how your liver metabolizes the drug.

As an aside, I also know that there are many people on here that are in real pain and drugs are being changed to stop the recreational drug users from being able to abuse these drugs. It is because of the a users that here in Ontario, we have to show ID to get our prescriptions and looked at like we are criminals if we need a script a little before it is due. My body does ok with Oxycodone. When the pharmacy runs out or low on them, they will substitute with Endocet or another generic brand. Don't know what it is, but I may as well just take Tylenol 3, cause they do not help my pain. It is thanks to the recreational drug users that use these sites that people in pain have to deal with the constipation of the binders and fillers so the drugs supposedly cannot be broken down to IV.

You people are a bunch of illiterate, uneducated morons. Percocet is the original brand name Oxycodone, Endocet is Oxycodone as well just the generic equivalent of brand name Percocet (Endocet is made by the same company that produces Percocet).

Any other manufacturer that produces Oxycodone sells generic forms of Percocet just with different fillers.

When I read people saying Endocet is Hydrocodone it just proves that most people are not informed nor knowledgeable on this subject.

Don't even bother posting if you don't know what the hell you are talking about, people come here to get help with medication issues and are met by people that have no clue what they are even talking about.

No, I do not believe it is you! Same thing happened to me. When I looked at the bottle and realized they were different I went right back to the pharmacy and returned them. They were not too happy with me but I know what I have to go through. It is so unfair to mess with people's pain management in this way. From what I understand and I apologize if I am wrong, it is all in the way your liver metabolizes drugs. I have been in some very difficult positions when taking antidepressants, anti-inflammitories, even gravel or sinutab affects me negatively. They finally put on my file...no substitutes.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I am also sorry that you clump all pain med users into one category. I have been on Percocet for 10 years. I take a low dose for a chronic user (60 mg's day). In 10 years I have NEVER had to increase me dose. I went from being an active & busy mom of 5 boys to being bed-bound for several years. I finally found a DR who said I needed pain med's so that I could regain an active (semi) life again. It worked. My med's are stored in a safe & I have a perfect use record for 10 years. I work very hard to get better using natural care & treatment as well. I use my narcotics as a stepping stone to recovering from my health condition. Before I began my med's, I seen 5 types of experts (addiction-to diagnosing chronic pain to psychiatrists, etc.) to determine if I was a high risk patient for addiction, abuse or if I was lying. On day 6 the entire team came together at one table with myself & my husband & without hesitation, they approved me. They ALL had agreed that narcotic chronic pain med's were the answer for me. I have never abused my med's or lied to my DR's. I am so grateful for the ability to have this treatment option. I suffered for years prior from trying all sorts of treatments & med's that would not work for me. My children (3 are adults now) are all grateful for this option & how it changed my life for the better. 15% of chronic pain sufferer's who use narcotic treatment options abuse their medications...does that mean that the other 85% must suffer just because someone else makes poor decisions for their life? Anyone (21 & older) can drink as much alcohol as they so choose & everyone says "It's their choice to drink & their choice to be an alcoholic. When taken correctly, narcotics are far less destructive than alcohol but yet people want to decide what is best for me based upon some idiots CHOICE to abuse a medication. McDonalds has a worse health effect on the body & mind than narcotics taken correctly. I don't eat fast food, sugars (natural or otherwise) carbs, etc. so can I take unhealthy food away from the population because I know how bad it is on the mind & body? I get asthma from perfume, can I make the population stop using perfume & colognes? These chemicals are bad for their health as well & it actually affects others too. My medication affects only me. If some druggy wants to abuse med's & die or go to rehab, that is their personal choice to do so. I don't care so long as I am not paying for their decision. Again, I am sorry & heartbroken for your loss, however, I don't believe that other peoples mistakes & tragedy's should dictate the outcome of my life/future. Dr's are always being blamed for patients addictions but have we forgotten "PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY" in this nation? Addicts lie & it is very difficult at times for a DR to try to determine who is lying & who is telling the truth. The DR to should be free to make his/her best judgment & leave the ultimate responsibility up to the patient & that is who should be held accountable...the PATIENT. I wish everyone the best. If you feel that a loved one is abusing any intoxicant, you have 2 choices, try to get them help or allow them to suffer the consequences of their actions.

Been taking legal Percocet 10/325 for chronic nerve pain & Sacroilliitis for years. Took new script to new pharmacy cos walgreens, my pharmacy is out. New pharm gave me Endocet.I got severe tremors & blurred vision within an hr of taking it. Looked it up & found out it has interactions with FIVE other meds I take! The tremors& vision stuff is probably related to the high dose
of gabapentin I take. I'm also really sickwith withdrawals.I was awake 4 nites in a row!!! I don't care what it says on paper, this formulation is not the same! I never had problems with my Percocet. I even had to change the time I take my Contin (20 mg per day) cos of the reactions I'm getting. My Doc is out of town til end of month. Trying to taper off them which makes me sick too.Im between a rock & a hard place. been sick as a dog for two weeks or had blurred vision up to four hrs & full body tremors. I'm filing a report with the FDA. Link is on medchat. Anyone else sick from an Endocet sub? Dope abusers & skeptics don't bother to answer. Thanks

I've had various forms of Percocet, oxycodone/acetaminophen generic the most. I just got Endocet from a new pharmacy and I notice no difference at all. If anything, I thought I felt it more. It's made by the same manufacturer as Percocet and I've had no withdrawal symptoms at all, feel the same. You shouldn't feel withdrawal so quickly, even if you weren't taking anything. Even if it was half the strength, you wouldn't have the withdrawal. Maybe something else or you were given the wrong med. Always check your meds. I've had the wrong pills a couple times mixed in. Never assume they're ok, especially generic. Check all markings.

I'm in the same boat. Got endocet yesterday and have been in withdrawls since yesterday. I don't care if their the same on paper. This is not imaginary. No sleep, chills, cramps, body aches, cancelled my day.I took my reg dose, why is this happening?

I've been taking percocet 10/325's for a number of years for chronic nerve damage. They are my breakthru meds. Not to exceed 3 per day. I also take 10 mg Oxycontin twice a day. I have Sacroillitis plus 3 chronic Sciatic paths.I swiched pharmacies & they gave me Endocet 10/325, generic for Percocet. I've been in withdrawal since yesterday. No sleep, pain unmanaged, cancelled my plans today cos I'm laid up with the shakes! Goosebumps, cramps! I took my reg med dose so why is this happening? This is a physiological reaction, not my imagination!

No I have to disagree you could blindfold me give me endocet and then when it was time for my next dose give me the oxycodone and I could tell you which was which just by the pain relief I recive... all in all the same maybe in composition but not in actual relief....

Very well said. I had cervical spinal surgery. Surgeon perscibed percocet. Pharmacy filled it with endocet. I got absolutely no relief. Endocet sucks. I paid full price for percocet (non generic) Changed pharmacies with subsequent script. New pharmacy said they don't use endocet and filled with oxycodone.
Finally got relief. The medical system is screwed up.

Sorry for Your Pain; But that statement makes no sense!!! I happen to be a patient that requires round the clock pain relief from pain levels that if not medicated, I would either have a stroke or heart attack!! I feel had your son received better instruction on taking his medication timely or exercised greater restraint along with either having his DR. modify his pain medication to accommodate his pain level or just a break through medication on a timely basis, he would still be with us now!!!

Fentynal is a terrible drug! Did nothing for my pain, found myself going through withdrawal a good day before it needed replacing. Please note...NEVER CUT THIS PATCH. Because of the way it is time released, if you cut it, you damage the binders in them. You then would get too much of the drug at once, thus an overdose. So sorry for your loss!

There is a slight drop on the amount of Oxycodone in Endocet, but it is very small. Sounds like you have a bigger problem than not feeling the same. You my friend have an addiction to pain killers. If you are on here posting on the differences and saying your body doesnt feel the same, and have been on them for 2 years...you defintely have a drug problem. Either seek an alternative method for dealing with pain, enter into drug rehab, or for whatever ails you get surgery. Dont tell me an excuse on pain or whatever other rebuttal you wish to provide. I know...I was once there. You are a drug addict. A bot forward I know, but wake up and seek help. @ years?!!!! Yes, you are addicted and are in denial. You need a better way of life my friend. Your doctor is obviously enabling you. Unless ofcourse you tell me you have cancer and are in your last stages...other than that, seek assistance through rehab.
