I HAVE BEEN ON OXYCODONE FOR OVER 2 YEARS AND MY DRUG STORE RAN OUT AND GAVE ME ENDOCET? SAID IT WAS THE SAME THING BUT MY BODY TELLS ME THAT IT'S NOT THE SAME. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS CHANGE?

I've never noticed a difference from generic to brand name. Just the price. Been on pain management for 10 years. My quality of life is awful without it. It's definitely a personal choice though. I personally enjoy a pain free life. :) to answer your question? You should be able to google pain clinics in your area. Also, your family doctor should prescribe until you find another Pain Management facility as withdrawls can be deadly.

Not all genetics have the same in active ingredients my friend, this part of you message was the only incorrect part. Endo pharmacuticals actually has the least amount of fillers & inactive ingredients than any other brands, being I'm likely going above most of all of you peoples education level here, I will simply use the example " name brand percoset as opposed to generic Watson brand percoset, their is no dye's in those & also WATSON is no longer, I would still be on Norcos from Watson if they were, yes they still say Watson, but anneal bought them out & as of this last early winter if 2013, they took out the dye only, but us chronic pain patients know better, & being one whom suffers from bad chronic pain the difference was night & day & that month was a very long & painful month. Actavis bought out Watson & also moved to Ireland to avoid paying taxes in the US. I got in touch w/ them during my month of taking the new Actavis made ones & even their pharmacist said the likely didn't study the formula long enough before it's release. This is a big topic online & as well on the same site ( check Watson Morgan formula change ) very sad as I never wanted to go up to oxycodone, feels more like a synthetic drug, being it's actually only a partial agonist, as opposed to hydrocodone, due to it's metabolization by the liver into hydromorphone. This is my first month on Percoset & I get whatever generic is available, & mg. Per mg., it's a better overall pain medicine & doesn't make you all spaced out. So next time your thinking your getting Watson product(s) be sure to think again. Stay away from them, as any company that will move out of the US to skip on paying taxes will certainly skip us on our meds., but they also said that they were told by the FDA & DEA to make the change, if something works & has for years you don't change it, again if it were only the dye the millions that know what I'm speaking of would not be complaining. You see the war on drugs has failed, I believe it never was suppose to have been a winner, just a way to control our bodies & minds, now the new war is on the people whom suffer from chronic pain & also those of us whom love our country & the constitution that made us the great nation we are, but if we continue to let them poison our foods, plan false flag operations to create wars, & to continue to destroy our rights, we will soon be Obamas puppets & all live in FEMA camps. We need to take this country back just like we did w/ the Europeans & by this government shut down BS, it's only to try & make us feel & no " JUST HOW MUCH WE NEED THEM" & if the shut hits the fan, their evil plan will be to take all our freedoms from us. I cannot for the like of me understand shutting down our National Parks, which on average bring in a DAILY 75 million dollars, now that's enough money alone to start paying this so called debt back that was printed of mere paper, it's just paper people. Sorry to get off the subject, but expect lots more changes to come & remember this country was founded by great men that believed in the fact that government should not control the people but better yet we should control the government. Fear is the name of the game. I mean mandated medical care or face punishment & yes even jail. I don't believe that unless we make a change & stop being a nation of obese, & lazy people, than it's off to the FEMA camps & martial law & to those who think I'm just some conspiracy thinker, you will be the first to fall. To Zgglof: I called & talked to the company that makes the endocet for Endo pharmaceuticals ( Vintage Pharma.) & they have listed in their side effects not listed on paper you get from the pharmacy, THAT IT CAUSES GASTRO INTESTINAL ISSUES. so NO, unfortunately your not wrong. All you people on here talk like endocet is a pure form of oxycodone & it amazes me how DUMB all you junkies are, or either none of you even understand your own complaints, I mean read your posts again your comparing pure oxycodone to Percoset or it's generic. Stay off pills unless you need them. I'm going to have to pay & suffer from chronic degenerative pain while you all are getting your drugs off the street. Cant you just smoke a joint or something? Please don't ruin it for us patients that really need it. Peace

Reply to dauhtucanstop' sorry on spelling but the other person is correct. When the say that being it's less, well it's both right & wrong, wrong in ethics & indeed can be hard to understand. If you get your hands on a name brand bottle it says the same thing * equivalent to 8.9637. Yes the are actually using less of Oxycodone only a milligram but if you take over 5-6 a day it adds up & it's sort of a tricky lil pickle that they're doing, you the the HCL., part after oxycodone is very much needed to complete the delivery of the pills properties, ( pain ) & the fact is, by adding the salt to the finished product is not fair. A good example that even got me was that if you look at lortab 10/325 by the same company being endo or vintage pharmacuticals, & this is hydrocodone & it's not mixed w/ an HCL., instead w/ a bicarbonate, & the bottle from the company says 10 Mg of hydrocodone bitartrate. So thus it's an acid & not a salt, regardless they must use it as well to activate the hydrocodone like the HCL does for the oxycodone. If they did this & made hydrocodone HCL., it would be much stronger & more natural, as it's more structured like morphine & oxy well it's a great pain killer, just feels fake & more synthetic ( I know it's made using poppy Thebaine. I'm currently about to graduate in chemistry w/ my major in medicine. I think the issue is that of greed & also the Government playing w/ & regulating our medicines. This so called drug war has long failed & needs to end. Pills are killing more people than H here in the south & it's both sad & not good for all us true pain patients. I personally am grateful to even have relief & monies for now to cover my meds., I ask for endocet by name. It's a much better quality generic & trust me since this medicine is likely made in large raw forms & pressed into pills, I'm sure they make one batch not two & sprinkle a lil more oxy on the others. I will say that they should not include the salt in the weight of what we get the 10mg prescribed for. I hope this helps some to see & understand better, talk w/ your doctor over it & show them if the pharmacy will give you the bottles & it will be good to show the doctors that are unaware of this & mine being a excellent & very caring & nuturing doc, said she herself thought it should not be, we checked on all major FDA allowed makers of this medication & they have the same, but again fillers & junk can actually be up to 40% & it's the active ingredient that is allowed a 20% bioavailability to the 8.9673, so
I'm sticking w/ what works as should others. I wish you good luck, I'm typing this w/ my hands & their old & arthritic, so good luck to all, smoke a lil after it helps to, especially the spasms.

You have no idea of WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT HERE. You are speaking of two TOTALLY DIFFERENT DRUGS, yet an ingredient in Endocet is oxycodone it also has Tylenol. It's made by the same manufacturer of the brand name & it's very equivalent in it's pain relieving properties. Sucks that it has to be addictive & that is what scares me yet only Brand that helps me. To much hassle in pure Oxycodone & it's just overall not looked upon any longer but as a substance of abuse,& these same little Scums of life are going to ruin it for the millions whom suffer from chronic pain from many different ailments. No one should have to be in excruciating pain in a society that can eliminate that kind of suffering. It can make some learn to do things that we stopped doing, now is that good or bad, all in moderation as it's said. Peace out now youngins!

This is not true, YOU ARE WRONG! Please look at the small writing on the bottle of endocet that you have ( theirs a little astric & or * " it says they it has only 8.9637 equivalent of Oxycodone. I'm very disappointed & was my pharmacist when he read that, " saying this number can be up to 20% below the 8.9637 Mg. All generics say this on them only brand name & Watson take claim to having 10mg, in a 10/325 Mg. Percoset. Must be why they are so more expensive than any other generic. This is not to come across as rude, it's a damn shame actually that these greedy PHARMACEUTICAL companies can suck up to the FDA & get away w/ this. It's not right & I will be showing the doctor this. Having been switched from Lortab 10's to these, I was dropped some saying it was stronger & wouldn't need as much, but do the math. The doctor thinks I'm getting X amount of Mg.'s if medication & I'm just not, know one is.

Please don't you know Endocet, is a generic form of percoset. It's mixed w/ Tylenol. That being the 10/325. 10 Mg's. Of oxycodone HCL., & ( actually 8.937 & this goes for all Generics.) I don't think you read your post prior to posting it, as I read it & hear you thinking you were suppose to be prescribes just 10 Mg. Of pure oxycodone HCL, WHICH IS NOT MADE IN THE US. Only comes in 5's, 15's, & 30's. & it's called roxicodone. Now this company makes a generic form of that, so very tiny. I have had them & I will say their better than nothing, but truly Mylan has the best generic in them. My point being, is endo PHARMACUTICALS is one of the last true US made medicines & I think they are good & next to Watson. I want to try Watson, but being they truly no longer make the medicine, it's made by Actavis now & since as I saw noted on here by a pharmacist as well, they destroyed the yellow Watson ( norcos ) the say only thing changed is the removal of the yellow dye, since they still have the same imprint & logo. Anyone have currently filled w/ Watson ( actually Actavis, ask the pharmacy to read you the name on the bottle they have, or google Actavis buys Watson & "Watson formula change" . Anyone have up to date quality info on them being their now made by Actavis?

Your wrong, it's oxycodone HCL. Look at a bottle @ your pharmacist. The sad thing is it's only 8.9367 percent equivalent. The same w/ all generics, would go to Watson, but since they are no more & are not in business the next best is endocet, the same makers of true Percoset before they lost the patent, the just make a generic now to. Actavis, bought out Watson PHARMACUTICALS, & that's why I had to switch to these from norcos, so maybe Actavis has the formula right for Watson, ( they still use their name & imprints just helps $$ ) I'm curious if since they destroyed the yellow norcos, & the are white & EVERYONE IS HATING THEM, HOW COULD THEIR PERCOSET BE GOOD. who is the best brand??

Yes !!! Had the same problem !!! (However, my drug store didn't "run out" of Oxy ... they just chose to give Endocet instead.) Had an appointment with my pain management doc a couple weeks ago and mentioned it to him, and how I thought the Oxycodone was more effective for the pain than the Endocet. When he wrote me a new prescription he made it out for Percocet, and the drug store filled it with Oxy ... so maybe it has to do with the way the doc write the scrip. ??? I don't know ... maybe you can mention it to the doc next time you go. Good luck :)

I am using oxicodone 10/325 and was given Endocet 10/325 instead. The Endocet makes me extremely sleepy and lethargic but I don't feel that way with the Watson brand Oxicodone. There must be a difference in some ingredient that does not agree with me.

Well put my friend. I just got switched from norco over to these & since the norco are no longer made by Watson 10/325 but instead by Actavis & let me tell you ( there are many threads regarding this topic on this same site & many others). Actavis bought Watsons company & name out, which not only all Watson medications are now made overseas by Actavis. The crooks, moved out of the US & all the way all to Ireland, to avoid having to pay US taxes. Any fortune 500 company that would do this devios & desperate act to feed their greed for money over quality health products, you can vet would make serious negative medications now, because THEY CAN!! ( ACT in the stocks ) I never wanted or thought of switching over from norco to these but my pain was only getting worse & I thought since I finally found the Endocet brand of hydrocodone ( norcos ) to be as close to the real old Watsons in quality ( which Actavis claims they only removed the yellow dye, then I heard from another pharmacist @ Actavis that they didn't research it enough before they launched it ) Im telling you all now that all Watson brand medications still are imprinted w/ the same imprint required by the FDA & the same look, but are now made by a bunch of money hungry crooks ( ACTAVIS) & all us chronic pain sufferers have to pay the price for this bulls***! I'm sure the govt. Is in on it as well,( hello ya crooks ) So upon my doctor having changed my medication as mentioned, I thought their brand of percoset would be good also, so I asked my family pharmacist to order the endo brand of the percoset the doctor put me on, dropping one pill, because she was saying it was because it's twice as strong, which I now learned the hard way is BS & you must make your doctors aware of this, I know I will!! Its such a bunch of BS. Who can afford name brand, especially w/ no insurance.. I've bent over & risked my life to serve this country & all my forefathers ahead of me as well, not asking for a violin, but ya would think, I could get a lil respect & get decent quality medication for my hard earned pay! I'm also an organic chemist & you had the best comment this is why I thought I would post this here for all to see & be aware of, it's a damn shame they can get away w/ it to. Pharmacist gave me the bottle to show to my doctor, because in small print on original manufacturer bottle. it even says, oxycodone is not 10 Mg, but 8.37 in near equivalency, so they even admit that & this is where it can be also less than 20% of this number so a 10 Mg endocet is actually a five milligram & their more expensive than the Amneal brand which low & behold worked MUCH better, being they ordered the endo brand in I got a weeks worth of the amneal brand & though their generic norcos are NO GOOD their Generic percoset are much better. Endo, or now " Vintage PHARMACEUTICALS", use to be one of the best, but they are now crap in effectiveness & their quality is very poor. I'm going to show my doctor the company bottle & hopefully either try something else or go back on the norco. I put all my meds in a monthly counter & don't take more than prescribed, even w/ the severity of my injuries, so I just have to suffer. I could be on stronger meds, like pure oxycodone which actually I got a few 15 Mg ones of ( to try very $$$ Rx) & they helped me for over 6 hours, when two endocet did no do s***, I'm sorry to ramble on & I'm on my android so my hands are tired, just has me very upset & I'm now left in great pain. My boss even asked me what seems to be wrong, & not sure what to tell him, but he is a good man & would understand. I do my job ok, but need some relief or I'm no good & can't concentrate but on the pain!!!!!! I wish all true pain sufferers the best & may we all find something, that allows us to at least get the edge off to allow us to live more productive & better lives!! Stay away from these overseas medications, especially the India folks, they are terrible chemists & very limited to the inert ingredients as any place is & no matter where you go, the resources of each area is different, so this also like the man spoke of is an issue. I currently take Percocet (endocet generic) 10/325. I had to respond to "Genie" the lady who lost her son to fentanyl. I know exactly what you mean. I broke my back ... 7 fractured vertebrae ... pain pills didn't help much, so my pain management specialist started me out on the lowest dosage of the fentanyl patch (25) ... before I knew it, I was up to 100 ... if I didn't change the patch every 3 days as instructed, I'd go through withdrawl. Fentanyl is a killer. I requested to be weened off the patch but it took a long time. The withdrawl & side effects of this drug are horrible. Sorry for your loss.
