Weight increase due to nexito 10.
I had been taking Nexito 10 for the last one year. I feel that I am unable to get up in the morning and have increased my weight by 5 kilo grams. is it because of nexito. this site is not medical professionals, so we cannot say definitively why you are gaining weight and having these side effects, however, yes it could be from medications. I am going to post what I can find out on each one for you, along with common side effect information.

Nexito contains the active ingredient Escitalopram, this is an antidepressant.

These are well known for causing weight gain, as well as nausea, drowsiness and headaches.

Nexpro contains the active ingredient Esomaprazole, sold in the US under the brand name Nexium. This is used to treat conditions such as heartburn and GERD.

Common side effects for this may include: nausea, headache, decreased appetite and gas.

Ganaton contains the active ingredient Itopride, this is used to treat various gastro-intestinal symptoms.

Nebicard contains the active ingredient Nebivolol, this is used to treat hypertension and heart failure.

Common side effects may include: nausea, dizziness and headache.

Olmecip contains the active ingredient Olmesartan, this is another type of medication used to treat high blood pressure, commonly sold in the US under the brand name Benicar.

Common side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth.

Softovac is a supplement that is said to treat gastro-intestinal issues as well, it contains:

cassia fistula 0.5 gm, fennel , ispaghula 2 gm, liquorice 0.25 gm, senna 0.75 gm

It acts as a laxative.

Side effects may include: nausea, diarrhea and gas.

That said, it does look like Nexito is the only one that can have weight gain as a side effect, so it is possibly the culprit.

For the tiredness though, that could be caused by any or all.

Instead of all these pills, why not try Kefir? It has done wonders for several people I know with IBS (including my husband who was also lactose intolerant but can take milk products now). Overall it keeps ones stomach in top shape as well as possibly boosting immune system and other benefits.

dear sir.Finally I got an appointment with my Doctor.

He asked me to continue with the same medicine Nexito for 2 more weeks , but this time he prescribed Nexito 10 instead of Nexito 5.

I think these medicines are controlling my anxiety to some extend, but it gives me feeling like something is supressing my fast thoughts in my mind and this is not going to be the case if I don't take the medicine.

Now I try to come out of tension which has no any reason, but some times this becomes difficult....

i have been using nexito 10 mg for past 5-6 years and i have put on about 17 kgs of weight. diet is normal, i do regular exercise but have not lost a single gram of weight. i wish to know whether on discontinuing nexito gradually,
1. i will lose weight?
2. get my lost libido?
3. wont get depressed again?
i am not at all happy with my doc as he doesnt counsel. and there's no other doc here.

I took nexito 20 mg for 10 years and its one year that I stopped it completely. I gained 15 kg weight. I was 34 kgs before nexito and my weight increased to 47 kgs. And within one year of stopping I lost 3 kgs. I dint do anything for it.
