Doctor In Richmond Va Who Will Prescribe Opiates For Severe Chronic Pain (Page 7) (Top voted first)

I have moderate to severe Degenerative Disc Disease of Cervical Spine with severe narrowing (stenosis) along with bulging and herniated discs with severe arthritis (osteo) also in cervical spine with boney spurs. I also have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome ad Chronic Fatigue. My pain management doc has done many different procedures, non giving much relief and no long term relief. She has told me there is nothing more she can do. So, I need a Primary Care Doctor who will take over writing my Morphine and Muscle Relaxer. My current Primary Care doctor said she trusted me totally but could not write RX for opiates. I need help. I will not be able to function without some pain meds. I live in Gen Allen, a Richmond, VA suburb. Please helpp. Thank you.

Katherine & warrior46 see my reply regarding Dr Gu in Glen Allen!! I need help desperately but can't turn to him yet. No matter what never take methadone pills for pain !! It is a withdrawal of your worst nightmares!! I hope my previous post helps y'all ... Good Luck
Be very good respectful patients and DONT ASK him for a particular medicine just tell him what has been working ok.

Cathy please listen the Dr's. Around here even hear that you've bee on methadone they WILL NOT even see you!!! I was on methadone 10mg pills at 9 per day for about 15 years. The Federal law change has ruined it for us REAL pain patients. Don't even try to get your methadone back. I just had to ride out withdrawal from absolute HELL and I still have no help. Stay away from Dr Joey Thomas in NC and Petersburg VA it will be a huge waste of your time, pain and money. He was absolutely horrible and quite rude. I was the
"Perfect" nice calm patient.

Fun Guy... could you please give me the info? I'm an amputee with back, hip and leg pain. I have all of the necessary documents. I just want to be able to take care of my daughter. I hate her having to watch me in pain every day. PLEASE HELP.

I just saw your post. I know it's been a couple of years, but I am in desperate need of finding a new doctor who can/will prescribe opioids. I've had three doctors leave a practice, and the one remaining doctor will not prescribe. So I need a new physician. Would you share your doctor's info? Thanks in advance.

Michelle it's been a while since your post and I don't know if you have found a doctor. It's really heartbreaking to know what we are all going through! Can you just post whether you have found help so I know what to say next.
Really wish we could put our email addresses out here. I'm a 57 year old woman who has suffered severe spine pain with 2 bone on bone vertebrae in my neck and horrible thoracic pain yet to be diagnosed. I've had 1 pain Dr retire and my last one killed himself as he was living in horrible pain. I'm screwed now too as my primary care Dr. Had been prescribing for me but can't any longer due to the horrible new federal laws. Just letting you know I am real so you don't have to be worried about posting.

I need a new pain mgt Dr desperately! Been in pain mgt. on narcotics for 30 years but my pain mgt. dr. passed away and now my PCP who had been writing my prescriptions was in fear for his license. Guess the Feds just want us to die. I'm close to Ricmond.

Hi Mike, I live outside of Richmond,. Towards Charlottesville , I've been dealing with my arm going numb, an pain in my back. I finally went to clinic, with xrays was told I have cervical disc disease, he gave me b.s pain pills, called back in pain an went an picked up mg 10's but I had to take 3-4 at time..an also was told can't write me another, cause had to see a specialist... I cant really afford that, if I could possibly ask for your Drs #, I'd ty so, so much..I see all the others that asked too,. But please keep me in mind, next time see your Dr. Send it to me if possible

What is a Subs? I am looking for a pain doctor and I have called over 50 in the Richmond and surrounding area and if your case is complicated at all they won't approve an appointment. THIS PLACE IS CRAZY. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS? If a subs means substance abuse that is not me. The purpose of being a PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTOR IS TO HANDLE A PATIENT WITH PAIN A NORMAL DOCTOR CAN'T. ...How can they deny you? Ass Backwards here, no help!

Dr.GO will not take on SEVERE PAIN PATIENTS. I went to his office 3x and turned away and I wined myself off the large dose meds I was on just to see him and to just get any kind of help...NO GO! VA sucks...They don't care about your pain or how my pain issues you have. The more complicated your case the MORE REJECTION YOU'LL GET!

My name is Vincent and I'm new to the area. I have ddd, stenosis, scoliosis, sciatica etc..etc..and been in pain management for about 10 years. Methadone is the only thing that has worked for me that isn't too expendive. I ran out of my prescription of 9/30/16 and need a doctor who can help me today. Do you know of any one?

The damn DEA needs to talk to people who have chronic pain instead of shutting places down. That's what I think. I have chronic pain and have no place to go. But I bet if it happened to one of their family members it would be difficult. It's not people like me who are dying from these meds, it's people using illicit drugs.

Try National Spine and Pain. The Woodbridge office got me in very quickly. I'd advise getting and taking any/all medical records, reports and images with you!
