Diclofenac For Tooth Pain

I'm going in for a root canal in three days. It hurts bad and the only pain killer I have is a couple of diclofenac that my doc gave me for gout. Will diclofenac help alleviate tooth pain?

It's a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that can be used to treat pain, fever, and swelling, so it may help, but checking with a doctor or dentist would be best. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, increased risk of bleeding, headache, and stomach irritation.

How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Were you prescribed an antibiotic? Are you on any other medications?
