Diamicron 40mg/bd (twice Daily)

is it safe for breastfeeding, my daughter is 28 months old/ 2 years and 4 months
my doctor assured me its safe.

i am diabetic type 11. i take diamicron 3 tablets of 30mg each per day. i find my sugar level is okay in the day, but towards the night, the effect of the drug seems to be going down, and sugar is more on the higher side. Can i take the medicine like two tablets in the morning and one in the evening to balance the effect throughout the 24 hours?
