Coming Off Of Subs

Mr want to be normal Says:

I have had a number of orthopedic surgeries over the years and I am a recovery opiate addict. I had a doctor prescribe me suboxone for pain. Seemed to work well but it has become increasingly expensive and I feel like I need to come off of it. I have been on it for over 2 years. I have been tapering the dose over a few months and then stopped. I still have had major withdrawl symtoms and it has become very frustrating. I feel like I'm back where I was when I was coming off opiates. Does anyone know how long it could possibly take to accomplish this. I blame some of this on the doctor because all he cared about was the consultation fee. I don't think he cared if I ever came off! Need some guidance.

i was on subs for 5 yrs. i also have chronic ack pain among other things due to surgeries. ive now been off subs for 35 days. i jumped at taking 8 to 12mgs a day. i had w/d really bad for about 16 to 17 days then slowly it started easing up. the most difficult thing for me has been the anxiety, depression, & no energy but the anxiety is now almost gone & id say it took it about 25 days to start easing up. im still dealing with the depression & lack of energy but they are getting better every day. they say it can take up to 90 days to feel fully back to normal if you dont get paws which can last up to a year. i dont think ive got paws i just think cause i was on it so long its going to take either the 60 or 90 days for me to get back to 100%. right now id say im back to about 90%. they do say the longer a person is on it the worse the w/d, i dont know if thats true or not but if it is then you being on it for 2 yrs i would think yours wouldnt last as long. the acute w/d will probably last around 14 days or so after that its mostly mental stuff you have to deal with. actually the only physical w/d symptom i still have is sneezing which ive been told is actually a good thing even though it can get aggravating!
