The original name brand for Chlorthalidone in the U.S. was Hygroton.

This medication is a diuretic that's used to remove excess fluid from the body to treat conditions such as hypertension, edema and congestive heart failure.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and dehydration.
