I used this cream for an allergic reaction to an antibiotic a few months ago at the suggestion of a pharmacist. (I livein Mexico). Now I have an allergic reaction to Ibuprofen that looks the same - red blotches on my face and chest. Will it work for this, too?

Hi Lilly,

Based on my research, Clotrimazole/betamethasone cream can be used to relieve redness, itching, and swelling due to infection. It is a combination of an anti fungal and corticosteroid- which can help to reduce inflammation and help prevent the release of symptom-causing chemicals due to an allergic reaction. Antibiotics are very strong in relation to Ibuprofen, therefore, if this cream worked for a reaction you had to an antibiotic I imagine that it could also help you with the allergic reaction that Ibuprofen caused. I would try using the cream on the blotches on your chest first, to see how it works. That is just a recommendation however, I am not a medical doctor so the information I have provided should not be mistaken for medical advice. If the reaction becomes worse or doesn't go away, please seek emergency medical attention!

I hope this helps to answer your question! Please post back if you need further assistance.
