Are you also watching your diet and getting lots of exercise?
When it comes to some medical conditions, such as diabetes, you can't really expect the medication to do all of the work. You can help lower your blood sugar by being careful to not eat high sugared or high fat foods and by exercising regularly.
If that doesn't work, then you may have just built up a tolerance to the medication after so many years of taking it.
Have you consulted your doctor?
They'd be the best person to talk to and see what you need to do and if you need to try a different medication.
As you are diabetic it often happens that due to body conditions, the medicine may become less responsive. I feel that you should also look for life style management. This is very much essential in control blood sugar level.
Its good you consult some dietitian / attend some courses which gives you insight of diabetes / hyper tension and also teaches you how to build your life style.
A beautiful course which i have come across is Living Well Program of Art of Living helps you a lot in framing your lifestyle.
