Zydus 10mg Oxycodone Underdosed? (Page 4) (Top voted first)

Hello all. For the last 6 months, i've been prescribed various meds/treatments/pain meds for severe head pressure and neck pain. I had to stop taking any form of Hydrocodone because it makes my skin breakout in open sores (gross, i know). On May 6th, my PCP prescribed me Oxycodone 10mg 4times daily with great results and it made me very fuctional. He gave me another script for the same medication and when i went to the pharmacy, they filled it and when i got home, i notices the tablets/drug company was different. Well, was i in for a suprise. The new generics my pharmacy had were made by Zydus Pharmaceuticals and are imported from India? Well, to say the least, i've been taking almost twice my dosage to get the same effect. There's no way on earth that my tolerance doubled in less than a day! Now, my PCP thinks i'm trying to get more pills, and the pharmacy thinks i'm crazy. The first prescrption i got the 10mg oxycodone from this manufacturer: KVK Tech Inc (pink and "k 56" imprint on them. And they worked fabulous. These Zydus ones seem wayyyy underdosed as i'm taking around 5-6 tabs compared to 4 tabs of the KVK Tech brand. Any info/advice is greatly appreciated!

Been thru 9 surgeries n just put on these 20mg 6 times s day from the 15s. The 30s do nothing for me. I'm in so much pain. What can I do nurse

There is definitely something different about them. I have BARRETS cancer and have a 2 in. Nodule in my throat. I have to crush my meds so I can get them to go down. The usual ones are soft and crumble easy. I thought I was going to have to get my hammer out of my toolbox. These little guys are almost bulletproof. Thought I'd never get it. I will be asking for another brand next time.

Just received a prescription for the zydus oxycodone 10 mg have took 2 since 12 noon can't tell I've took one , my stoma still hurts had my cholen removed sep.21 don't think your wrong about the difference haven't took the kvk brand but these don't seem to be as effective as the 5 mg oxycodone my doctor was giving me

I just think right their with that question WILL ALL raise a RED FLAG..

please let me know what you find out from the lab about the ingredients in your medicine. I have been having the same issues with my pain medicine but everyone seems to think I am lying.

Jags , you can always call and ask the pharmacy before you take your prescription in what drug manufacturer do they use.. I use to do that, they will tell you.. I have used the same pharmacy for over 10 years and the pharmacy manager is who told me to read up on Zydus!! He was right they have been shut down several times and other pharmacies us Zydus because they can narcotics at a cheaper price and that shows they don't care about their customers at all!! I hope everything works out for you!!

Good for you. Unfortunately for me over a year ago when I first got these Zydus repeats of the Ethex recall and closure (Zydus bought Ethex), I ran out early and was let go from my pain doctors care. So a word to everyone, do not accept these pills, you will run out.

I am on 10mg oxycodone from kvk and they didn't touch my pain I tried a new Phmaracy and from zxdus and for me it worked wonders so now I will not have to take one every 4-6 hours I took my at 4:00 ,pm and still working fabulous guess it depends on one's tolerance for pain but I read my is from the USA in PA hope this helps

Please read all my posts. You need to tell your pharmacy to mark their computer for NO ZYDUS. When you drop off the RX make sure you ask the tech the brand of oxycodone they have in stock. You can always call around to find the brand the pharmacy carries. My Dr and my CVS are aware of the ZYDUS problems. KVK Tech has always worked for me.

When people try to tell others who have tried the zydus brand, that it works and its all in their mind. This really upsets me I have been taking oxycodone since 2001 and have had numerous brands, this is the worst!!! They need to be shut down again!!! And this time for good!! The ones who order the cheaper r bran nd d obviously have no concern for people who suffer from pain!!!!

I read all horrible things also about the Indian drug manufacturers. I was so upset when I learned my new Pharmacy used Zydus for Oxycodone. The first time I took my dose (3 days ago) I was fully prepared for no pain relief. I was shocked when they worked better than the Oxycodone I had the prior month from KVK or KVM (I don't remember the exact name) & better than any Percocet I've had over the years. The Percocet were good but literally lasted one hour if that. The KVK/KVM were crap but lasted longer than the Percs at about 1.5 hours. The Zydus are the best, kick in fast, kill the pain, knock you on your behind despite having a tolerance from hell & last 2 to 2.5 hours. I have no answer for this & am wondering if they really do suck but maybe they screwed up & put a ton in the batch I got? Another thought is they must have difficulty labs all over India. Maybe some of the labs are run by more honest people & they put the correct amount of active ingredient in it, which explains why not everybody thinks the Zydus suck? I don't know. We will see how they are next month & I'll know if it was a fluke or not.

It is possible! Same happened to me but with different drug. I noticed 2 days later s/t was different. Upon looking thru my bottles, found different manufacturers(cheaper for pharmacy).Watch before leaving storeN

I have been prescribed oxycodone for pain for 2 years after cancer and a car accident - both really messed me up. I have received all brands of the small pink ones and I can say for sure that the pink Zydus marked 12 NP are the weakest and worst quality. A simple method for evaluation is to chew one and you will see it gets gunky on your teeth instead of just powdery dissolve like all the others. The 12 NP Zydus are crap compared to all the rest.

I must be totally backwards from everyone on this site. I'm prescribed 25mg of Oxycodone per day for back, hip & arthritis pain. Prior to that I was prescribed 20mg of Percocet per day. When I switched from the Percocet to the Oxycodone about 4 or so months ago, I filled my script at CVS & it was the KVK brand. That was the biggest crap I've ever taken & did nothing for my pain. I didn't feel like I had taken any meds. Taking two 10mg Percs did so much more than 25 mg of Oxycodone by KVK. I ended up switching Pharmacies after CVS said they only carry that one crap brand & the new one carried Zydus. I did my research & heard how bad it sucked but I filled my script anyways so I wouldn't go into withdrawal. I had zero hope that it would do anything based on user comments. Imagine my surprise when it not only completely took care of my pain, but messed me up so bad that I couldn't even function. I was like a drooling, extremely happy ***** for quite some time. I am able to take less of the Zydus brand & it has the same effect each time I get my script filled. I am baffled myself because other than myself I've never read a good review. My pills also are tiny, pink & have a 12 on one side & a NP on the other side. My pills are as hard as a rock & literally impossible to split in half with anything other than a pill cutter. Even a sharp knife has a hard time cutting through it & chewing it isn't the easiest endeavor. The NDC # is 68382-794-01. Are your guys' pills the same as described above?

I'm beyond confused about the different experience & the only thing I can think of is I'm a weirdo & metabolize meds differently than most people or I live in an area that gets the Zydus meds from a factory that's more heavy handed with the active ingredient & the rest of you don't? I do live in a totally out of the way state that probably 95% of you don't live in. I can't think of anything else.
