Withdrawals From Soma, Morphine, Xanax, Oxycodone - Help Please (Page 2)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I have been in pain management for years, lost my doctor along with other patients, and primary won't fill or says she can't and messes up my progress to get in new pain management in time. Now I'm losing Soma, was 3 times a day, now I have 7 tabs left. Was on 45 mg of morphine 3 times, oxycodone 15s and xanax 5 mg 3 times a day. Which she said she can not write for. Why, if she knew or thought this pain clinic was prescribing more than standard, did she never say a word until i had to go to her in desperation for this? Your primary that has to refer you and get info to get into a new pain clinic, I have very serious health issues no one is dealing with, I feel alone and suicidal. I even told my doctor and the old pain clinic staff that left, and not a bit of help, yet they know i have a history of heart failure, bleeds in brain from pain issues. No one cares, our country is falling apart and i asked again today for something for bp and high pulse, got nothing for it but a nurse, they did not send in the info two times that could have had me in pain management by now, and in having the colostomy i had to postpone since I wont do it with out pain mgmt on board.

Today they cut me back more 1 soma for a few days then no more, oxycodone 10mg 3 times to be cut on mon again and morphine cut from 45 3 x to 3o 2 times. All i can do is cry and sleep then cry more then no food, not drinking, feel horrible, and have lost desire to live and fight. These doctors put all on others and not one seems to care or no what to do with all of us real pain patients. I just want to die at this point for i am so tired of suffering and its only going to get worse. I feel so bad for all of the posts i have seen and know im not alone. All i see is the same four walls every day, go no where and before i felt i had some reason to fight and live to fight cancer and even cancer doc can not help get you in pain mang. They said today it will take at least 8 weeks to get in and ill be dead then or out of meds in a stroke etc. That is my biggest fear. Have had 3 bleeds in brain from this and pain is no joke.

The nurse said today we all are paying for those that dr shop and are addicted and i said i thought even addiction is a matter that needs treatment. They counted my tabs. I take drugs panels, did nothing wrong and most of my pain is caused from docs that did botched surgeries and cancer and injury from accident. I dont no what we all can do or if there is hope but it does not do good to ask on this site if someone knows where to get meds. Its not just docs its insurances companies and pharmacies. It's all getting way too much and hard for even a well person to figure out. I am ready to go home to my maker and wish he would take me soon. I am so tired of the lack of proper dr care in our country and its so sad i feel and pray for you all i want to know who is going to be responsible when i die or end up in a stroke due to this. Xanax withdrawals will be the worst too for i had them before for you can not sleep to escape the torture and they only get worse with time unlike opiates most docs dont seem to know this. I guess i have heart rate of 139 now and bp 200 over 133.

It's a shame that the addicts who don't have any reason to be taking opiates is the cause of our suffering. It's not the Pharmaceutical companies fault, not the doctors fault. And if you are getting opiates from a doctor and you OD it's your fault. Says take one every 6 hours ect... does not say take 10 at once and it pisses me off when a parent blames others when it was your kid who took to many. I'm sorry people are dying and I know it's easy for some to abuse it but it's not fair to the ones who suffer and get some quality of life from the medication. Now my doctor has put me on Opana which is Oxymorphone and it's helping but I read the FDA wants Endo to stop making it, I never heard of this drug till last month when my doc prescribed it, so now what I have 2 more scripts one for July and one for August. He wrote 2 more cause he's going to a new office and I will still see him come September. So will they pull this drug ?

SSQ: Here's what, lady; I got FOUR MORE NOTIFICATIONS FROM YOU. Now, I can only assume at least some of it is more angry, rambling insults directed at me. Since I'm not reading them, I don't know. And frankly I don't care. Your kind are a dime a dozen nowadays: "Outrage addicts", I call them. You have conniptions over some perceived insult, and COMPLETELY lose sight of the actual issue. You want to rant and rage at me because I posted information that you disagree with? Go right ahead. As I stated earlier, you will be arguing with YOURSELF on that one, because I don't need your brand of negativity in my world.

But you need to know something. The ONLY reason I am on here is to help people. As someone who was pre-med at Berkeley, who is currently involved in medical research, AND is a pain patient/opioid addict, I am in a unique position to help others. I can see the issues from all sides. I am on several threads on this site, and have been thanked COUNTLESS times for my help and advice. So your disgusting vitriol about me wanting to "sound educated" or "feel important" or whatever couldn't be FURTHER from the truth. I've commented on what you've SAID, but YOU talk like you know me or something; making assumptions about my motives, calling me a liar...really? That crap is just NOT necessary. If you want to take what I say as helpful, great. If not, then move on.

For some reason, you have indeed decided that the word "drug" has an automatic negative connotation. Well, it doesn't. At least in MY mind, it doesn't. But wow, lady... you took me simply posting information, and RAN with it. All these crazy reasons and perceived motives I must have for calling your precious Kratom a "drug"... are you serious? I actually brought Kratom up at work today, us doing studies on it, because I do think it is a great alternative for some people. So hear this: I AM ALL FOR THINGS LIKE KRATOM, AS WELL AS OTHER "ALTERNATIVE" TREATMENTS FOR CERTAIN CONDITIONS. I'm even looking into Kratom for myself. But YOU decided since I called it a "drug", which it is, that I must be against it. NOTHING could be further from the truth. That all came from YOUR mind. In fact, the lab I work with now, what I am involved in is mostly "alternative treatments" such as Kratom. Plus, a therapist and I are starting a CPA chapter in our area, and a part of what we will be doing is helping people with these "other" options such as Kratom, CBD, MMJ, herbal drugs, etc. (CPA is a 12 step-type program like AA and NA, and stands for "Chronic Pain Anonymous").

So if you could put your outrage away long enough, you'll see that I NEVER ONCE SAID I WAS AGAINST KRATOM. No, YOU decided that all on your own. I'm FULLY in favor of people getting away from Big Pharma, getting off of all these dangerous, expensive, addicting drugs, in favor of alternative drugs and therapies. ALL FOR IT.

Now maybe there's some part of "I'm not reading any more if your nastiness" that's unclear to you, because you continued to send me more comments AFTER I told you this. Don't know, don't care. You are certainly free to think whatever the hell you want about me. But all I do is read the first sentence of your comment to me, I see that it is just more angry BS, and I click "delete". And you can go ahead and NOT believe that I am involved in medical research. I didn't write that to "impress" anyone, I wrote it because it's true. Trust me, I have no need to impress someone for whom I have absolutely no respect. BUT DO NOT CONFUSE MY REASON FOR BEING HERE. I am here for one reason ONLY, and that is to HELP OTHERS. So all your vile rantings and attempts at insult mean NOTHING to me, and you certainly not going to stop me from posting information and/or advice on this forum just because YOU don't like what I have to say.

At this point, I can only wish you peace. But if you want to write more nasty comments, be assured that I WON'T be reading those either.

LIZ: Yes, she should report her story to the CDC, but more importantly, the AMA. (American Medical Association) And most of all, she should also report it to whatever is her local licensing/regulatory agency. In Colorado it is called DORA. They would be the most likely to actually investigate a patient complaint. I hope you see this, Grandma Pat, because what they are doing to you is WRONG and should be reported.

Thank you for helping spread the word! Every time I run across posts about people being taken off of, or weaned off their pain meds...I cringe, then try to explain the benefits of Kratom. It was a life changer for me... in an AWESOME way!!

How about the A.M.A.? (American Medical association)? Actually the original poster "Grandma Pat? Posted this a couple years ago.....I hope she got the help she needed.

Copy & past this to the CDC!! Look it up on the Internet!!!! U HAVE TO TO FIGHT FOR US!! I did!!! They got a dr for to many charges for U/A's. ha ha ha ha!!! But they apparently listened?? They're the ones who r fudging this up!! Think about going out of state??? Bordering town? Use a PO box or random address. U need help. That's not legal or the pain plan. Ur to be weaned off for months, not one month...under law ur pcp has to see u if the clinic will to treat u UNTIL she sends a new referral to a new DR. Or tell her you'll turn her name into the CDC & file a report under her name with authorities!! We are suffering and dying. Oh & look up ur local gov... Send a note, letter or email that requests a written response for help!! Council members, anything.....

Yes try kratom. It's cheap, easy to buy, and legal. Check it out. Opiate addicts have successfully come off of their meds with kratom. It takes away withdrawals of any drug.

Take tsk tsk. Insult....than run away. I was pretty sure youd keep on with the personal attacks...forgetting what the original posts were even about....then when you couldn't handle someone sticking up to your bullying you'd run away. It's ok tho. Bully , I enjoyed the chuckles when you madly typed out your fascinating way of life. I bet you have several bitter enemies both online and in person. Opinionated people, especially those that have to resort to insults in a disagreement often do. The need to be "right" overwhelms you I'm sure. I have a person just like you as a "semi" friend...she HAS no real friends, but several "enemies" no one likes those people....you go on and on when you can't "win" then change to attacking personally when you've lost the original argument...that is the M.O.of online trolls...or Bullies in general. You think your smarter than everyone else, your not and never will be. You refuse to accept your wrong about anything, and won't even try to see others view points , that is NOT what "never stop learning is" keeping your mind OPEN is. Have a great day....I know you'll read this..

BL: Yes, I fully understand that it is CBD-only products which are shipped to non-MMJ states, which is why the CBD oil I recommended to "MM" would be legal to purchase and have shipped to his/her state. I'm not sure why you keep pointing this out to me.

But you are mistaken about "MMJ states". The CBD oil I buy in my state (I'm currently in Colorado) is the same oil that this company sends to all 50 states. It contains NO THC. I actually don't like how THC makes me feel, so I buy this particular product partly because of the fact that it contains no THC. I'm not sure why you think we can't get CBD-only products here, just because we are an MMJ state. I can get tons of different CBD products, with OR without THC included. We can buy CBD edibles, patches, topicals, tinctures etc, with or without THC, here locally. Trust me, I'm in Colorado, and part of my research of late has involved MMJ/THC/CBD. And for my PERSONAL use, I ONLY buy CBD products without THC. The CW Hemp oil that I recommended for "MM" is actually made here in Colorado, so for myself, I don't have to have it shipped. I just buy it at the local dispensary, and it's the same non-THC product that they ship to other states.

SSQ: Yeah...I'm not reading that, nor will I be reading any more of your insane rantings over the irrelevant, and still inaccurate, semantics of the word "drug". I have neither the time, nor the desire, to deal with your rage and your glaring hypocrisy. So have fun arguing with yourself. I hope you get some help soon, you clearly need it.

Randy K
This is my opinion based on my own personal experiences. You're on quite large mg doses right now (not judging) and your body has probably started to become immune to these meds. A change is needed, however I believe at first you may experience more pain, until your pain doctor can get the proper dosage to control your pain enough. I, myself recently went through a change in pain mgmt dr, as well as a change in meds. The first 3-4 months were horrible. I even had to go to the ER 2x, in 5 weeks, due to the pain. The pain was making my blood pressure sky rocket. Now, after being with the new dr, for 5 months and him changing my meds, as well as each month switching the mgs I have less pain, than I've had in several years.
At first I also pretty much had to stay in bed and do nothing physical. Only walking inside my home a little.
Hopefully, you have a Dr that you can communicate well with. That's the key. Good communication helps you and your pain, in the long run.
Good luck.

kkh, CBD Oil bought online is not the same as CBD Oil bought it certain states. The difference CBD Oil bought online does not contain THC. CBD Oil bought in states where it is legal does contain THC.

KKH. I dont need to try to make people feel stupid to make myself feel superior intellectually as you seem to like to do. Yes, I do feel passionate about and will defend kratom. Technically as you said, just about anything can be called a "drug". The semantics matter, not because I care about it BEING a "drug" or not. But because of all of the opiate hysteria, which almost caused the DEA to ban it outright as a knee-jerk reaction. When people call it a "drug" too many immediately lump it in the same category as a recreational synthetic . There are "good" drugs and "bad" drugs. I hate that there are many who who will not give it a chance to help themselves, or others because of the negative connotation that is often associated with word "drug". Words do matter. If you were an actual (scientific ) "researcher" than you would know everything I said was the truth. Calling it a drug, or not aside. The reason I said "competition" was that you seem very passionate about hemp products. I have nothing against MM. With or without THC...it is much like Kratom as far as I'm concerned, many many benefits, not much (if any) drawbacks other than the legality of both of them in some states. I do not profess to be a scholar or an English language major. I also don't need to be a "researcher" with perfect written language skills such as yourself, to be an intelligent informed person. I post about Kratom, on this thread, because so many people are suffering the effects of the "opioid epidemic " in one way or another, and need HELP.

Oh honey, I have 4 sisters 5 son's and a daughter...we too have been through the wringer, but we haven't yet gone through the pain of losing anyone, though I do fear that. I have gotten into some (stupidly) arguments about Kratom on here. I just wish more people were aware of the mental as well as physical benefits. It will ease your depression...and for the people fighting addiction, or experiencing withdrawals after being kicked to the curb by their dr. It will stop most of it...at least you won't feel suicidal. It does not take the place of prescription pain killers for all of us in chronic pain, but sometimes the mental is as bad. Again, I am so sorry about your sister, I am going to say a prayer for your burden to be eased . It doesn't sound like much, but God is powerful. Please come post anytime, I'd love to chat with you. I need support as well, maybe we can help each other. God bless you. G.P too...I pray she found a better, more compassionate dr. These days they seem to be in short supply.

BL: Yes, CBD oil can be shipped to all 50 states, as long as it contains no THC and is from hemp. The link to the CBD oil I posted can be shipped to all 50 states.

SSQ: Wow...just, wow. I don't even know where to begin. Each comment more bizarre than the last. My apologies; I didn't realize "information" was a problem. I'm of the mind that education should never stop. Apparently you don't agree. And you sound extremely hostile. Maybe someday you will be able to communicate with others without having to add bunch of unnecessary defensiveness and wild emotions. Or have a mature debate without losing your s***. Because you sound really paranoid, and pretty crazy right now. Holy cow, lady...call Kratom whatever you want, since it seems to be of utmost importance to you. Your unwarranted hostility is duly noted, and I hope you are able to work through your issues. And maybe check out a Reading Comprehension class some time...you don't seem to understand the words you read.

Whoa.

Well I'm sorry, I haven't been as fortunate as you with all my hillbilly learnin'. I guess if you have no real point then result to insults. Whew! Finally found a way to be "right"....too bad your only correct grammatically. As I mentioned before...if "you want" to classify it as a "drug", then you must also call caffeine the same. It is considered an herbal remedy. Basically the point is, it has NEVER caused a death, it is no more addictive than caffeine. Does not make you "high". You seem to be here to correct people and be a snot. I am trying to help with something I have experienced personally. It is not synthetic, processed, or a chemical. Yes , I am aware opium could be described much the same. However, the difference is no addiction, no overdose, no death.

SSQ: Hahah, wow, you really need help. "Irregardless of what some people want to believe..." You should probably stop your failed attempts at condescention now, because you are just making yourself look bad. Plus you are still just wrong. Look, I hope anyone and everyone is helped by Kratom as much as you have been. But it's not "what I want to believe". Kratom is an herbal drug, just like MANY herbal drugs out there. Those are facts. As I said, you are mistaken in what the word "drug" actually means.

And "irregardless" isn't a word. It's just "regardless". Maybe you should take some more Kratom. You seem a little "wound up".

SSQ: I think you have a skewed notion of what a "drug" is defined as. Yes, caffeine is a drug. Aspirin is a drug. Cough syrup. Garcinia Cambogia, tobacco/nicotine, milk thistle, even cough drops...I could name a hundred different things here that aren't dangerous, that come from benign sources, that you can't overdose on, that are considered drugs!

You seem to have this notion that "drugs" require a prescription, or that they have to be manufactured by Big Pharma. They don't. As far as the rest of it..."intentionally spreading false information"..."competition"...are you even serious? Because you sound a little nuts to be quite honest. You have attached this almost mythical negative connotation to the word "drug", which I don't really understand. ANY COMPOUND OR SUBSTANCE THAT ALTERS BRAIN OR BODY CHEMISTRY CAN BE CALLED A "DRUG". So maybe YOU should stop thinking that the word "drug" means "narcotic", or even "prescription", because it doesn't. In fact, regarding your "I assume you are able to get information" comment? Maybe YOU should Google "Is Kratom a drug", and read up on the first, oh, FIVE HUNDRED or so sites that come up. And those are NOT pharmaceutical company or DEA sites. They are not sites that are spreading "fake news". Because you are picking a fight over something pretty irrelevant, besides being wrong. I am involved in MEDICAL RESEARCH. I don't sell anything ("competition"? Really?), nor do I post anything but ACCURATE information on here. And unlike yourself, I have pretty clear knowledge of what the word "drug" actually means. Saying something is a drug isn't necessarily a bad thing!! CBD/MMJ is harmless, no one has OD'ed on them, they come from plants...and they are STILL drugs. You are getting caught up in semantics. I mean, saying something "comes from a plant" or saying "no one has ever overdosed from it" doesn't mean something isn't considered a "drug". I'm not sure why you are getting so worked up over this; over the word "drug".

Even the "Kratom User's Guide" says: "The leaves of the Kratom tree have been used as an herbal DRUG by the people's of Southeast Asia since time immemorial." Surely the "Kratom' User's Guide" isn't "intentionally spreading false information, is it?
