Wisconsin Pain Clinics/oxycodone (Page 9)
UpdatedHi, i live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and i find that it is very difficult to the find a doctor in pain managemnt who will prescribe the right types of narcotics to effectively releave my chronic back pain. Any suggestions would be great. Thanx
Did you ever find a dr? If not, Dr. David Stein isn't very nice but he will rx what u need.
Re: Katie2018k (# 161)
Didn't Dr Stein just start cutting patients on 30mg Oxycodones quanities to 60 per month Max ???
Re: Erica (# 115)
I'm new to these forums and most comments don't seem to be in order or in response to one another but I was wondering what you're referring to about universal? I was there until recently and something super shady was definitely going on there. Who or what did u mean by Dr jumper? My email is {edited for privacy}. Also, where r u seeing a Dr for pain now?
Re: BrknNews (# 162)
Is he a pain management doctor? I’m looking for a pain doctor for my diabetic phneurapathy,Osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia
Hello everyone. I live in Milwaukee, and just got discharged from Advanced Pain Management after 10 years. I will admit it was my fault, I failed a u/a because of just starting to try marijuana to combat the constant worsening pain after having my meds lowered, and the action was immediate and unforgiving. I knew better, but the pain was shouting louder than my brain was telling me "it's not worth it!"
I'm now in a horrible predicament. I don't even know what to do, where to go, what steps to take. Does anybody know of a doctor willing to give a second chance that will prescribe oxycodone? I'm way too young to go on disability, I'm desperate for anybody's help or advice who's been in or knows of someone who's been in my current situation! Please help, and God bless you for taking the time out of your day to help me!
Re: Diane (# 165)
Who was your doctor and was he a good doctor to help with your pain?
Re: Jen (# 166)
Advanced pain mgmt
Dr Lauren
Will prescribe, but worst pa I've had to deal with over the years. Nothing personal due to this situation
Re: Diane (# 167)
Is this doctor in Milwaukee? I’m trying to google her. I’m seeking a good doctor to help me. I’ve tried so many all-natural items and they’re not working so now I’m seeking medical advice but I definitely want someone who cares.
Re: Jen (# 168)
Then try Dr Sani at APM or Dr Thomas Stauss at APM. They did my surgeries & after care & were extremely wonderful!
Re: Just Me (# 155)
WOW I just had the same thing happen. Stein was mad when I called the lab as well both meds were in my system. He wouldn’t reverse the discharge either. No dr will give close to what I was prescribed. I also was there for six years.
Re: Just me (# 170)
Dr Stein just cut my oxy 30mg from 4 a day to 2 a day & said that's the max he can prescribe now due to new laws. Has anybody else experienced this?
Re: Just me (# 170)
Dr Stein discharged me because I refused to get a tens unit (some sort of nerve electronic monitoring box) in my back.
Do you know of any good pain management offices that still prescribe medications (i.e. 30mg Oxycodone) in Racine, WI? Now they are just pushing surgeries and injections left and right and I’ve done both.
Re: BrknNews (# 162)
Just happened to me also. I was just cut from 4 a day to 2 a day. I guess the Government got to him too
Anyone know of a good pain doctor that takes your pain seriously and is willing to give meds? I keep running into these doctors that want to give me a muscle relaxer and send me on my way. I need help. I wake up and go to sleep in pain. What kinda life is this? I’m in the Milwaukee, Racine area.
Re: Mickey (# 171)
Lucky your getting that these doctors are all going to be prescribing a maximum of 90mgs a day regardless of what opiate it is he discharged me for not have oxycodone in my system I called the lab and the verified I did have all my meds in my ua he wouldn’t revised the discharge I was ass out for 3 months
Re: Just me (# 176)
Did he take you back after 3 months? Or did you find a new doctor?
Re: Lucy2009a (# 172)
A tens unit is exterior, and very helpful with pain- while u use it. Your insurance will pay for it (minus deductible)- I recommend u get one if ur in that much pain! I've never turned down anything "holistic" (meaning ANYTHING extra that can help with my pain that isn't just medication), & that includes my own inversion table, multiple back braces, PT, physical rehabilitation, nerve blocks, a spinal cord stimulator implant, surgeries, aqua therapy, acupuncture, massage therapy, forcing myself to stay for & deal with the consequences working out causes, inj's... what I'm trying to say is my doctors always prescribed me my meds bc I had a history over the last decade of constantly trying anything recommended. (& 4 yrs of this, b4 pre-existing condition law was passed, I paid dearly out of pocket, & still digging myself out financially due to it). I'm only 37, & for being as young as I am, there's not just MRI's & my word to show or prove my pain to them. You have to play the game, bc if ur it in that much pain, you'll try nearly anything- ESP. the non-invasive therapies out there that don't require surgery. If u dont, you'll be looked at now as a "pill seeker" with all the crap the government is putting us thru. It's ridiculous, but my sister fell under that category with her fibromyalgia, & no longer can work, & was put on suboxone, stripped of all narcotics almost overnight & left to suffer. No concrete physical evidence shes suffering. It's a scary world out there for us who suffer from chronic pain, unfair & biast. And it's obvious soon enough it's only gonna get worse for us- soon enough they hope to rid all narcotics with a new replacement out there already in place from our wonderful government. Play their game & for now that should get u back in their good graces,& allow u access to your proper pain relief medication. I don't mean to come across rude.
I'm trying to give advice, as tough as it is to take. I'd hate to know another sufferer fell victim like my sister bc they weren't aware of their standards to not lose everything. I'm paying my price for my stupidity failing a u/a from thc, but when you're in pain, sometimes you do anything to help, no matter how short that help lasts. I had a great thing going at APM, & now I'm not sure another Dr will even take me on after being discharged. I'm scared I'll lose everything I suffered to obtain, turn to abusing alcohol or street drugs, bc I can't do much of anything w/ out proper pain relief. It's such an unfair world. The good 'ol USA, but 1 strike & it's already looking like I sealed my fate. No forgiveness, no second chances. It's like they almost want the pain population to resort to becoming addicts without even a very strict & grueling process that would allow a second chance. If anyone out there has gotten a second chance for a situation like mine, I beg for your advice... as tough as it may be. I'm begging for advice on this situation only I put myself in!
Good luck to (all) of u out there struggling. My prayers are with u all- bc that's about all we can do since we have absolutely no say or control over our situations when it comes to proper pain relief. We're becoming more helpless by the day, & I truly fear for the future. But do remember- play their game. It's why my Drs didn't make me conform to the exact requirements the CDC & FDA approved. I've been told by 2 Drs "it's obvious you've tried everything, that's why we're making an exception in ur situation." They did lower my meds, but not to the ridiculously low approved morphine amount they count all narcotics to allowed by law.
The doctors had a paper trail of everything I did they asked of me, thus not liable for a lawsuit or losing their licenses. But I made the mistake (biggest mistake of my life,) & broke their trust. -& I'm young... The thought of never having a second chance to be properly treated for my pain scares me to the point of barely sleeping, panic attacks & nervous breakdowns. How long til I give up? I have a LONG time to think about it & live in that nightmarish reality. I may become my sister b4 I know it. Yup, I'm scared straight. Had I only known what I know now, I'd have NEVER given in to my pain& made such a stupid mistake when the opportunity came to me at the worst but perfect time when I couldn't take the pain anymore, but that was exactly the wrong time. What a stupid mistake. Please learn from my living nightmare. I had it made compared to many others, although it wasn't easy OR CHEAP, (& let me tell u, I didn't have a life in order to have it "made"- I lived to try to help my pain in any way possible & w/ out giving up & claiming bankruptcy, I live to pay off debt). But PLEASE, learn from my mistake & learn to play the game. It's seeming to be our only option if we dream to only have a part-time life with the meds they allow us. Good luck to all of u & I can only pray this long msg helps at least ONE person. We already don't have a life, but plz learn from my mistakes & advice. It can always get worse! My heart goes out to each & every one of u!
Re: Katie2018k (# 161)
Has Dr Stein cut your Oxy 30's to only 60 mg max per day? I just heard this & need to know if its true.
Re: Mickey (# 180)
Has anybody who sees Dr Stein had there Oxy 30mg cut in half ? He cut me from 4 a day to
2 a day and says hes cutting all his patients down to 60mg max per day. I really need to know if its true or if hes just doing it to me and lying about cutting everybody down.
