I just recieved a new prescription of norco 853 10/325. The last script was yellow and the new ones are white. The pharmacist said that Watson changed the color but the pill is the same, does anyone know if this is accurate?

i agree with you webhead i again emailed the fda and they give me some excuses they say fill out medwatch forms i told them i have and their website doesnt work right so it was not filled out correctly n i asked them to mail the papers to me a month ago. they give me bs answer when i ask why there is not an investigation or recall on these yet? ridiculous and my jerk dr doesnt understand this he tried CUTTING My dose AGAIN! after what i have just gone through months of pain and suffering. so if i could get prescribed 6 a day id be fine but he will only do 4 a day and it sucks cuz these amneal do not work half as good as the old yellow watsons do but thats all my pharmacist has or can get. i have tried the others and they did not help me anyway.they wanted to put me on the higher meds too but since they cost a fortune and i have no insurance i cant take them.

I had tried the Qualitest V 3601 and while they were certainly far more effective than these new crap watson they did at a lot of times leave me with some of the nasty side effects. It was hit and miss.

I then switched to Amneal IP 110. They are effective, none of the bad side effects, although I did have some nausea on 2 occasions, once likely that I took one on a completely empty stomach. I would say the Amneal is about 75-80% as effective as the old Yellow watson, same goes for the Qualitest. Which means I will have to take a few more than I usually do in a month, and have informed Doctor, to this

As it stands now, this is how I would rank them:
Amneal
Qualitest
Mallinkrodt

And way, way down at the bottom, so much so that to take them does more harm than good is the new White Watson 853, thus dont bother taking these

I hope Actavis sales, fall, fall, fall, they can kiss my a** what they put me through...

Hi, well yesterday i went to my dr and my pharmacist after he had a different brand generic norco which i gladly asked him to fill with took 2 in 12 hours and was FINE and this morning did NOT wake up with excruciating BACK PAIN as i had been the last 3 weeks..NO HEADACHes.no nausea..no swollen feet or hands! activas needs to be SUED aND NOW! iwas suicidal the last 2 months thanks to those mfers, plus it was MY LAST 2 months of havinng my own apartment and my cats. I am going to behomeless thanks to disability denying me. my elderly parents have high bloodpressure now because of this bs and vocational rehab says they wont help me because i CANT GET or do gainful employment because of all my conditions. this government is sickening really! i never got any letter from activas and called in a complaint a month ago..i never got the forms from the FDA i requested to fill out the medwatch forms because their website does NOT WORK correctly to fill it out online...why has there not been a recall? an investigation? i told you all i found a company who will TEST THESE and tell us how much of WHAT IS IN THEM but they want $400 which is well worth it to bust these sick sobs i dont have it or i would. the website is drugdetection ..this is WAY less then a 20% decrease of hydrocodone in them for SURE i am saving one of them in case by a miracle i can get it tested and sue these pos. this is bs. and half the messages on this site i wrote in have been deleted GEE I WONDER WHY???? sickening absoutely SICKENING..whatever their trying to do is NOT effecting the junkie losers whatsoever let me tell u so good job hurting REAL CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS WHO R SUFFERING. finally some relief and now i wont be able to continue seeing my dr thanks to this F***ed up government who only give ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS medicaid. and only give disability to CRACKHEADS or bipolar people who are able to function and work just FINE!

Hello all! So I also picked up my Qualitest brand hydrocodone on Saturdayfrom Rite-Aid. I meant to post sooner to let you all know how they've been working, but I've actually been busy catching up on laundry, housework and went into work Sunday to catch up on some things since I missed 3 days in the last 2 weeks, due to my pain. Obviously, I'm feeling much better. Pain is decreased, no awful side effects that the Watson brand was giving me, and I feel like I can function in life again. After taking that awful brand, then dealing with the side effects, then the pain after not taking any pain killers except my anti-inflammatory, I finally felt like I could get things done.
These people are kidding themselves if they think that those of us who need these, to decrease pain to live our lives, wouldn't notice the difference in "removing the yellow dye". I felt horrible. I couldn't walk more than 30 ft without feeling like crying because it hurt so bad, and because of the embarrassment of not being able to do simple things at work or home. I felt incompetent, undependable & helpless. When you struggle with chronic pain, and you feel like your quality of life is non-existent, you're so grateful when you find something that works and helps. Then when that help is taken from you, you feel even worse. Not only is the relief and feeling of conquering your temp/permanent disability gone, but so is your faith in healthcare and even your prayers. I'm not a religious person, but I'm sure a lot of you, like myself, have been stuck in a position (standing, sitting, lying down or even in between) where you start praying for the pain to just go away so you can move, walk into your bosses office when they call for you, whatever...
Watson/Activis is toying with our health-physical and mental. And they do not care. They care about making a buck, using half-@ssed ingredients, that could quite possibly harm us.
I'm hoping to get a letter in the mail soon too, a response to my complaint. I'm going to add my own notes and send it back to them. These people are selling us an awful product, and are playing with our health and overall, our lives!!
I hope that all of you are somehow able to switch brands, pharmacies or even doctors if that's what it takes. I feel a million times better than I did just 3 days ago, all because of a simple brand change if my medication. It took some waiting and fighting, but I'm so glad I was finally able to get through to my Dr and both pharmacies. Without the patients, none of the above would be in business, so I hope they all listen to what we are saying and believe it. Please keep us all posted on each of your progress! We are here for each other because we care, and most of all, because we know EXACTLY what you're going through. Blessings to all ??

Hey All - just wanted to update everyone on the complaint to Watson I made last month.
They sent me a letter (oooh they must really be listening, right? Psh) saying they had received my complaint and are going to continue to look into the issue. Then they add that all of their products go through rigorous testing before being released to the public. And then they thanked me for calling them.
They basically made me feel like I was the only one who had complained, assured me they were in line, and dismissed me. It's complete crap!!!
In the meantime, I switched pharmacies and got the yellows made by qualitest. They definitely work much better and I have been 10x more functional this month so far than last.
I wouldn't be surprised if testing the chemical composition of a drug is nearly impossible for the common person here in the states. The FDA would likely be overloaded by complaints if it was easy to test meds because of the +/- 20 percent allowance. They don't want people to be able to nitpick ingredients.
The idea behind the 20 percent variance, as my dr put it, is that in a ten day period, a patient should ultimately get the same overall amount of the medication. It assumes that each pill in a batch will have varying amounts in it, some higher and some lower, that balances out over time. The problem here is that batches of medications are not varying within themselves. One batch to another, maybe, but within a single batch it is most likely to be a consistently high or consistently low concentration of the active ingredient. Activist Watson is taking full advantage of this, of course, because they can simple say it will balance out over time without most people being able to prove it one way or another.
Disgusting that they are knowingly screwing over so many people. In begging all of you to try to switch pharmacies and tell your pharmacists that you cannot take Watson brand as its fillers seem to give you side effects. If enough people do this, they will switch.

what I believe is the fact that watson has been pressured by the feds to make it less addictive. while watson, activas, wants the profits, they also do not want the federal government down their throats. or worse, get locked up. watson has made a superior product with the yellow norco AND with soma. and that is evident by those who use it medically and well as those who use recreationally. i can care for my family, work, and enjoy my life. i would like to take a rolled up newspaper to the face of all the self righous pharmacist that tell me there is no difference. OF COURSE THERES A DIFFERENCE, WHY DO YOU THINK WE WANT IT.????

my old doctor told me years ago that this was coming down the pike. he also said that it was time to leave the medical field when the federal government feels they know what is best for his patients...and he has left. look what the head of obamacare just said about the little girl who needed the liver transplant, "some people live, some people die". they dont care that we are in pain. look at the record number of people applying for disability. if i cant have my medication i cant go to work. we are talking about the quality of peoples lives. they dont care about us. I just want to go to work, care for my family and pay my taxes.

BTW if viagra, pravastatin, or hydrochlorathazide or any other commonly prescribed pill gave you a fifteen minute buzz ( yeah thats about it ...15 minutes, has to be an empty stomach too.) and it became a hit on the street with kids who crush it up and snort it , they too would come under the thumb of the DEA.

government needs to stay out of the examining room with my doctor and me.

Thank you Julie, so many of us on here are truly suffering and we can't get the help we deserve. It's not just everyday people that create these issues for us. Every time another famous person makes the national news for overdosing because they had 5 different dr's writing them RX's for pain meds (or even worse, one dr over medicating someone just because they are wealthy enough to pay them to), the regulations change, pharmacists get paranoid they'll be sued, and dr's start to concentrate not in helping people, but protecting themselves. I wish something would be done to stop Actavis from mutilating our bodies. I actually started carrying a piece of paper with all of the side effects it was giving me, because I was scared something was going to happen to me. I finally just stopped taking them. I finally get to pick up my RX tomorrow for the Qualitest, so I'll let you all know how they effect me! Blessings to all...

while i went to my pharmacy to pick up my other meds i ran into an old friend and another woman who gues what? ALSO were complaining about watson SURPRISE SURPRISE and this a hole pharmacist asked her if shed like him to put some yellow dye in her pills? SICKENING mocking us like we r nuts when he is a stupid moron who has no clue or doesnt wanna know what these mfers are putting us LEGITIMate pain patients through. she told me another pharmacy had another brand also white that did work and they are no longer going to this pharmacy or ever getting another watson/activas made drug again! she didnt know the brand and i wish she did know she had to have her meds switched to a stronger med though before discovering another brand that worked and i do NOT wanna have to go through a new med and have to do the pharmacy crawl every month since no pharmacies will fill narcotics around here and if they do they might not the next month..forget about the mom and pop pharmacies also i went to 3 different ones none of them would help me and i am a legitimate patient with a legitimate prescription. this pain is agony and these mfers need to pay somehow. i hope someone can have these bogus pills tested for the amount of hydrocodone in them i guarantee it is nowhere near 10mg..probably closer to 3 or 4. if that.

I agree...I think because of all the people that abuse RX drugs, it makes it more difficult for those of us with real medical issues to get them for real pain. I need a hip replacement because the pins I've had in there since I was 12 have caused osteoarthritis and are stuck in there at this point, and have damaged disks in my back and neck due to a car accident. I've been putting off surgery because of work, and I'm hoping once my hip is fixed my back will feel better because I won't be so off kilter (I've got a bad limp now because the space in my hip joint is gone, so I'm a little lop-sided). It took me 2 years to even get a pain management dr to give me meds because they kept saying to take aleve, and once they did the MRI's on me, they actually apologized for making me deal with the pain for so long. But just getting a new RX so I could switch to Qualitest from Watson was a hassle, even tho I asked my dr if I could turn over the Watson to her since Walgreens doesn't get another brand to swap them out with. Even then, my insurance won't authorize a new fill for the Qualitest brand until this weekend, even tho my dr called them and the new pharmacy I went to. They said its because too many people abuse the drugs and pharmacy hop, so it's made it tough on the rest of us. I'm hoping once I have hip surgery in July, my back will feel better as well, and I can taper off and stop using them altogether. Until then, I'm hoping the Qualitest will help without all the nasty side effects that the new Watson formulation has. I can do without the headaches, bloating, swelling and no pain relief when I already have to deal with chronic pain daily!!

Tracy, You are right on as well. The doctors play a big part in continuously prescribing these pain to just about anyone, and many pop them like tick tacks. The more I read this forum, the more disgusted I become and am considering talking with colleagues on a possible stance we can take to advocate for some our clients who are beyond consolable concerning this nightmare. We as therapist are hearing and seeing the desperation in so many. We know our clients medical, and those who are legitimate, and we plan to fight for them. .

Has anyone else been having WITHDRAWAL symptoms? this is 9 days STRAIGHT i woke up from excruciating back pain..never happened to me before and im not sleeping in a different bed the ONLY thing i can think of is it is withdrawal becuase they did NOT make this medicine correct. My pharmacy WONT order another brand they said they CANT do that so i am SCREWED as it is impossible to get any narcotics filled around here.especially a class higher then hydrocodone and i do NOT wanna have to take those stronger meds i can barely afford to get to my dr each month NOW i go through HELL to get there also and its a nightmare this is the WORST Possible timing for this bs to happen as i am about to be homeless and social security denied me OF COURse! mfers..even though vocational rehab wont help me because according to THEM i cannot become gainfully employed and SHOULD be on disability. Anyone have any other suggestions? i have my probably final dr appt this monday and do NOT know what to ask for since this bs happened to the ONLy medicine that has helped me in 6 years to function somewhat. im getting off of the stronger extended pain med cuz i do NOT wanna be on this stuff and now this bs i am sick to my stomach people can be so SICK.
