The pill I have looks like it's white but when compared to a white pill it looks a little tan in color. It does say 54 on top and 583 on the bottom. Can anyone please tell me what this is?
The manufacturer Roxane Laboratories lists this tablet as containing 40mgs of Furosemide, which is a LOOP diuretic that is used to remove excess fluid from the body to treat conditions such as high blood pressure, edema, and congestive heart failure. (NDC 0054-8299)
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, increased urination, hypotension, dizziness, and dehydration.

Is a white pill marked 54 583 under the list of controlled substances?
What is it used for and what are the side effects?

Sounds exactly like the furosemide prescribed for to me for hypertension and swollen feet/ ankles. Narcotics give me hallucinations, furosemide doesn’t.
