I was given a prescription for each, but don't want to take both...just one of the weaker kind since I'm not in as much pain as usual, which one do I take Soma 350 mg or Oxycodone 10/325 mg?

What an incredibly rude thing to write!
A lot of people beleive OxyContin is stronger than most all other pain medications and this question doesn't surprise me in the least.
Milligrams aren't the key, but the medication itself.
Just because 100mg's of one med is higher doesn't necessarily make it stronger drug.
Ex: 50 micrograms of Fentanyl is stronger than both and has a lower dose.
Please don't make people feel bad about questions regarding what they are taking when they don't know the difference between the different drugs they are prescribed.
Did you push little kids around when you were young? Extort lunch money too?

I was taking 5mg of morphine sul solution every 4 to 6 hrs as needed & Tramadol 50mg tablets every 4-6 hrs as needed for breakthrough pain i was switch to roxycotin 15mg 4 times a day for pain and Soma 350mg at bedtime which is stronger & best to take for pain?

No its not fun having chronic pain or taking meds all the time but if u dont have the meds u feel like crap so u cant win or lose when it comes to a situation like this

They are not the same. Oxycodone with Tylenol is a schedule 2 narcotic used for pain. You would not have refills on this med because you need a new paper rx for any schedule 2 drug. Soma or carisoprodol, is a muscle relaxer, and should be used for a short period of time unless authorized by your dr. I would call the clinic and contact the pharmacy. You would have had to give them more than 1 script in order to have the percocet ( oxycodone /Tylenol ) filled again. Hope this helps. Good luck and I hope you find some relief. Does Simon Or Percocet cause water retention or weight gain? Also, I take Methadone? Does any of these cause weight gain?

Actually, soma IS addictive, and can cause some intense withdrawal effects, just as narcotic medication can. If you have muscle pain, soma alone MAY help enough with the pain by preventing spasms and muscle tightness, but if it's another issue or very intense muscle pain, the oxycodone will take the edge off of it. However, is this intense pain you're having that leaves you incapacitated? If not, your doctor should not have prescribed a schedule II narcotic. Ask him if he will write you an rx for hydrocodone or tramadol instead for your pain, and if you still experience muscle spasms, add a small dose of the soma.

Oxycodone is highly addictive narcotic pain medication that's "Schedule 2" the highest level of prescribed pain medication; where as Soma is a schedule '4' medication with an extremely low addiction ratio & is designed spefi ally for muscle spasms... Try each one out separately & then make your choice of which is of more relief for your personal medical pain issues....

Well it depends on what you want to take. Those are to different meds. Oxycodone is a pain killer and Soma is a muscle relaxer. So try one then the other and choose that way. You can't decipher which is stronger cause they aren't even in the same class of drug.

These are not both pain medications, so they can't really be compared as to which is stronger, since they are different substances that do different things.

Soma is a muscle relaxant that contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol.
