Which Do You Prefer: Accord Or Actavis Clonazepam? (Page 2)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I've been taking Accord .05mg which I split in half every 2 to 3 hours, for about a month and a half after they stopped making my Sandoz Clonazepam brand. It's okay. It's starting to work somewhat, but I have a problem. Two weeks ago I am not told that Accord is getting harder to keep in stock by my Pharmacy and my insurance plan wanted to switch me to Actavis. YUCK, that stuff is garbage. I took 7 pills, couldn't stand it anymore how it made me feel. I got jumpy, my body itched, it took almost 2 hours to start working, and it never felt quite right. I said no I need to get the Accord again. My question is, is anyone else having this problem with Actavis, or is it just me? And did the Actavis taper down on the itchiness and start to work for those who are new to taking it? I'm flustered cause I never had this problem with Sandoz in the 15 years I took that med. Thank you.

Re: Joseph (# 25) Expand Referenced Message

I'm on my second script of the solco. I asked for them by name and the pharmacist found some there and wrote on my notes that's the brand I need. I've been taking them and have no problems with them at all.

Re: Bugs (# 24) Expand Referenced Message

Every month when my prescription is due for 1 mg. clonazepam I have to call about a dozen pharmacies to find out who has the Tevas. I usually find one. I cannot take any other brand. Been on it for 25 years. The others all make me sick. I can take the Mylan brand if that is all I can find.

I just got stuck with the pink 5mg by actavis and it sucks. It has no effect at all. When I have expressed concern to my doc in the past about manufacturing differences he looked at me like I had bird on my head. I just called him to let him know but I doubt he can help. If I ask him to up the dose he will immediately assume I am becoming tolerant. I have been on 5mgs for years and never had to up the dosage. It is the pills not me.

Re: Mike (# 16) Expand Referenced Message

I only know that Xanax is faster acting and has a shorter half-life then clonazepam. I never did like Xanax because of the fact that it made me feel too buzzed initially. Everybody's different... My sister prefers Xanax as well.

Re: Joseph (# 25) Expand Referenced Message

I'm not having a problem with them but I only take .05 mg in the evening before bed. They help me sleep. Otherwise I'll take the same dose before going into the dentist. I suffer from a very strange anxiety that happens mainly in the afternoon. I used to get panic attacks and was on clonazepam for 10 years. I wish I could remember what brand they were back then. I think they were blue. But they might have been yellow. Gosh I wish I could remember. They worked very well. I went off them for a while and try to go back on them a year or two later. Whatever they gave me made me feel horrible. I couldn't take them at all and gave up on them until just about a year ago when they gave me something different initially. I think they were yellow. I think they just switched me to this solco about 6 months ago. I'm wondering if it's because I'm at such a low dose that I don't notice any ill effects? I did try to find some reviews on it but didn't find many. I agree with you 100% that what they are getting away with certain generic brands should be against the law.

I was taking the Teva 1 mg. for years. I now am on Myla 1 mg. and they seem to work better than the other blue ones that made me ill. Can't remember the manufacturer of those but there were 2 that made me ill.

Re: Dee (# 13) Expand Referenced Message

Dee I only just recently heard of the Solco clonazepam and my CVS drug store has that brand now. I'm really afraid to try it because I've read that they are horrible. I don't know if it's true because I haven't tried it myself. It's a disgrace what these pharmaceutical companies are doing and there's no use in complaining because no one really cares. But complain anyways maybe if they get enough complaints someone may do something about this horrible abuse. This medication is impossible to stop taking without some dier consequences as has happened to me and the manufacturer and the FDA should be well aware of this. I hope and pray that something will be done soon. Dee if you have tried the Solco please let us know if the are of any decent quality. Thanks

Re: PurpleRayn86 (# 19) Expand Referenced Message

Hey when did you last pick up your accord refill? When Teva got disontinued accord was what the pharmacy gave me on June 10 and it sent me into complete withdrawal. Accord felt like a sugar pill to me..... but I have heard accord has recently became stronger and better, I’m wondering if I should try it again. Tnx

I had the same issue i switched to diazepam 10mg 2.5x a day after Teva discontinued their clonazepam, I’m on accord now and it’s wayyy better than GARBAGE ACTAVIS. Took me 7 pills just to get sorta aggravated and tired. Accord is good very potent but you do wake up still feeling anxiety free Wich diazepam DOESNT! Have your doctor writings what brands you can take on the script mine does with no issues

Re: Kevin (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

This thing with pharmacies taking Teva clonazepam off the market shows how bad some of these new cheapo, weako generic versions of clonazepam are. Now, you have to look at how bad the name brand was, I had been taking it for bipolar illness for years. Then they put the hole in it, and it was definitely weaker. That is when I changed to Teva. I get my psych meds from CVS. My doc told me the reason Teva took clonazepam off of the market, was because they had ordered an ingredient from China which had a chance of causing cancer,

My pharmacy had 2mg Clonazepam on back order, so instead of getting 60 2mg tablets they had to give me 120 1 mg Clonazepam tablets. Sandoz make Accord's Clonazepam, I seen the bottle in my pharmacy.

Re: Kevin (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

Please explain to me how anyone of you guys take this drug? My doctor has been pushing me to change from Xanax to Klonopin but will only give me 2 a day. He says it is supposed to work for 12hrs which is complete bulls***. I might get 5 hrs relief from it if I'm lucky no matter what brand. I take the Xanax 5 times a day and it works great.
