Weight Gain With Diabetes And Hypothyroidism

I have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes since the past month and a half. I am hypothyroid as well since 1994. I had managed to keep my weight under control but I have gained 6 kilos of weight. I was wondering what this weight gain is due to.I am very worried about this Please advise

Either of these conditions can cause some weight gain, as well as the medications for Thyroid problems.

Since I don't know the specifics of what medications you are taking and your medical history, these are only guesses, but they may explain it.

It is also normal to gain weight, sometimes, as we age.

Have you tried asking your doctor?
