Watson Vs. Mylan Generic Lorazepam Side Effects. (Page 8) (Top voted first)
UpdatedBeen on Sandoz mfr. lorazepam for 10 years; no problems; no need to increase dose. Sandoz stopped mfr. Now, can only get these generic's & Actavis. Having lots of troubles getting results; either nothing or zonked. Anyone else w/any experience which mfr. is closer to Sandoz (since FDA approves up to 2% differences in generics). Thank you.
FYI, I just received a call back from Mylan after my phone call a couple days ago. They confirmed they are discontinuing lorazepam.
Re: Twig7 (# 369)
I have never heard of free floating anxiety but I believe without my meds I would be that way, it truly sucks. I’m sorry you have it. I hope when you have the correct meds it controls it?
Re: Savannah (# 379)
Just so y'all know I just looked up who makes Watson now. It's not Purepac... it's Teva. I'm not quite sure if we can post links but I googled who makes Teva lorazepam... Once I scrolled down rhe page there's photos of Watson in every strength.. Smh.....
Re: Savannah (# 377)
I'd like to think they're truly using the same formula that Wyeth made Savannah. I wished I could try it. But the problem for me is finding a doctor that would write the script for me. Even if I picked up pvt insurance there's no guarantee I'd find someone that would help me out. The military and VA will-not board approve anything for us Vets any more. All the old school doctors I used to have they either retired them or pushed them out the door. I'm still trying to find Valeant's generic they make. Question what does your brand name Ativan pill look like? Is it still the dog house shape and what lettering is on it? I'm so totally lost at this point what's - what.... My pharmacist says he can't even find the Valeant generic or brand name... Though their website clearly shows they make it and you're getting it as well.
Re: Twig7 (# 381)
Hi Twigs 7, that’s so sad. All of our vets including you deserve the best treatment out there! It is the dog house shaped pills. The A is the House shape outlined. The back I BPl/64. Hope this helps.
Hi Savannah, that's what Biovail had on it when they took it over from Wyeth. Only thing they changed was the BPI instead of Wyeth. What's stumping me is that Biovail said it was a generic. Maybe Valeant turned it back to the original formula? Because Valeant said there is a generic form that they make as well. It's on their website. So thinking out loud here I wished I knew what the generic pill they make looks like. I was under the impression it look like the pill you have. (That is the Biovail generic) Because as I said guys that's what it looked like in 2004-05. I had a board approve consult for brand name as I've talked about and as I said Biovail and the VA pharmacist I've known for years back than and trusted said it was a generic. Ugh... The important thing is that it works for.you. Many others have said it works for them. As I also said it worked but I had to increase the dose. Really baffled here.
Re: Henry (# 384)
I feel your pain Henry. Hopefully you'll be able to get it and it works. I'm in the same boat that I may hafta talk my doctor about changing me to another benzodiazepine. Unfortunately I have no idea what he'll say and I can tell you that nothing else works because I tried them all. My brother takes Klonopin as well as my son. They both say it works for them. But my brother doesn't have the same panic issues I have and neither does my son. I've been told for years that Klonopin works pretty well for most people. That might be an option for you Henry. As I said I totally feel your pain. Keep us posted...
Re: Twig7 (# 386)
Unfortunately years ago I was tried on Klonopin and it caused a low grade but constant depression. My doctor at the time wasn’t alarmed, I think he said it happens to about 10% of patients.
We shall see, hopefully the Sandoz arrives and it’s effective. I will keep everyone updated.
Re: Twig7 (# 392)
I’ve seen some new people with concerns like ours have been. I do disagree with the post about your comment being too long. I’ve learned much more from this site and patients who have had the same problems as I have, than any pharmacist who really doesn’t seem to care about how well a medicine works or not.. I’m just checking in to see if anyone has tried anything that works. I’ve got another 2 weeks before I’m out. Also wondering if the 0.5 Mylan is still available. If you know, please pass it on. Thanks.

Qualitest was the company. One side had a V, other side was 4008. They worked great and CVS/Target dispensed them for years for me. They told me a couple years ago they had to order Actavis bec the cost was way cheaper. Tried for one month, felt like I was going through withdrawals, sick, not working, panic attacks worse than ever. I went looking to find Qualitest everywhere, checked all major pharmacies as well as Kroger, Meijer, etc., finally found a family owned Sav-On store and the pharmacist was wonderful, very caring, and Target didn’t care that I had like 10+ rxs a month being filled, so I switched cuz they promised me they could get them. For several months they were ordered by the month, then when Qualitest notified they were going out of business with lorazepam, the owner ordered the last bottle of 1000 to hold for me. Unfortunately after only 3 mos, with so many family members working in his store, dispensing other patients the stuff he ordered for me, I noticed the crappy Actavis brand again!!! But, at that time there was Mylan, Watson was still Watson, and a couple others. So I asked for Mylan and that’s where I’ve been since. Now, I don’t know what I’m gonna do after these run out. He told me last month they were still showing a large amount coming in, but now we’re getting super low so he’s ordering at least a couple bottles and promised my name was going on them. I haven’t used anything else for anxiety, but know for sure Valium I won’t take cuz it just makes me sleep. I have such a severe case of panic attacks and depression, I just panic thinking of what I’m gonna do to get through these days. Praying is about it for now??
Savannah (# 413) --
Might be that your body needs to adjust to the change from Mylan to brand. Have you taken the brand before.
Savannah (# 437) --
I'm a bit confused here. You just said you got the brand name Ativan on the 22 of May. Question, if you've been on the brand name since then why were you contacting Mylan? If your problems were resolved having the real deal why would you be out here on this thread complaining that you can't get it? Why would you manipulate the conversation like you needed Mylan when in fact you already have brand name from Valeant? What invested interest would cause you to call Mylan for over a month if you were in fact on brand name? I've read back some two months trying to help myself find a brand that will help me. I also seen the post about someone thinking there's one person posing under different names. I clearly can see that as well. I don't know who Wally is. But I have to agree that many of us are not well. And this doesn't help others playing games.
Gabby (# 440) --
Noticed this too! I don’t understand so many things people can “troll” on/play games but why a med chat site?! I’m here too same as you and I thought everyone else was looking for answers on mylan and a good alternative. What is wrong with people?!!
Gabby (# 440) --
So I went and talked to my pharmacist for like a half hour. She was super nice and helpful. She couldn’t believe Mylan is discontinuing. She said everyone was using that. Currently all they have as I said before is Actavis and leading. She knows the problem I’m having on Actavis and told me that at the end of June that contract is ending with them. She told me the only other one they can order is Sandoz? I think I’ve read some comments on that. But don’t remember. Has anyone had any luck good results with Sandoz. Or are they not the same anymore either? Thanks in advance.
Re: Gabby (# 457)
My pharmacist is amazing! She feels so bad for me and knows my struggle with all the meds I’ve tried and that this is the only one/brand that’s worked. I called again today and she told me there was some still available and she was going to order all she can.. after that’s gone don’t know what I will do.
Re: Gabby (# 456)
Yes by all means don’t focus on me ! Thanks for the well wishes
Gabby (# 464) --
If they don’t run out by July 1, I will do that. My 1mg prescription with refills is at my pharmacy, but they will transfer and it’ll be worth the drive. If I don’t do that I’ll end up having my doc to write another one for the 0.5 anyway. Thanks for your help. I’ll keep my ears open.
Re: Jamie (# 468)
I’m still following your’s and Gabby’s posts. Looks like we are in big trouble. I looked to see what new options may be for lorazepam and they’re still showing all the same logos from way back when Qualitest was making them. Nothing has been updated. What logo does the Actavis brand have on the pill? Gabby suggested I see if I can fill where my friend gets hers north of me, but I can’t get it filled til July 2, so unfortunately since it’s a new pharmacy to me it won’t do any good to find out now if they still have any. Meanwhile my pharmacist has hopefully still held the 0.5 mg he ordered and put my name on. So this latest stuff made you groggy, but anxiety didn’t go away. Omg this is horrible. I’ll just pray something changes soon.
Deedee (# 475) --
That sounds like a solid plan Deedee. I may have to purchase a different insurance policy. Not going to fib here this is really getting hard to cope with. Like many others out here I feel like I'm chasing my tail. The stigma benzo's carry isn't a healthy feeling. The positive thing I read somewhere on Valeant's website was long term use isn't frowned upon by them.
Re: Gabby (# 498)
Yes it is a VERY hard job. The two year break I needed to get better but some days are still hard. So many people asked me why I went back there. As bad as it can be I feel it’s where I belong and after all I’ve been through I now sympathize with patients so well and feel I’m more caring than others would be. If that makes sense. I’m glad to hear you found answers, what did you find that works for you!? I hope you have a wonderful 4th as well! 24 more days and I’m on a much needed summer getaway!
