Watson Vs. Mylan Generic Lorazepam Side Effects. (Page 17) (Top voted first)

Updated

Been on Sandoz mfr. lorazepam for 10 years; no problems; no need to increase dose. Sandoz stopped mfr. Now, can only get these generic's & Actavis. Having lots of troubles getting results; either nothing or zonked. Anyone else w/any experience which mfr. is closer to Sandoz (since FDA approves up to 2% differences in generics). Thank you.

Try to find the brand Excellium. I was on Rambaxy feeling great and had to change to Watson with horrible results. Although no muscle pain. I found Excellium at a small privately owned pharmacy. I hope it helps you if you can find it but I know all our chemistries are different.

Leah, how would you rate Excellium (1-10 stars)? how much does it cost? quantity? milligram amount? Just asking because I do well on Watson and have found it to be very effective. Thank you. please reply.

I found that Watson and Sandoz generic works great for me.
My pharmacy Rite Aid throws a fit (as they hate having to specially order Watson) -as they only use the horrible generic Qualitest- which does NOTHING for my anxiety at all- and reading thru the threads - most ppl feel the same about Qualitest being horrible. I will call other pharmacies in my area to see what generic brand they use. Don't settle for what doesn't work for you!!!

Hope this helps.

@NashvilleBound - I have the exact same problem with Rite-Aid and make me feel so bad when I tell them only Watson works for me and then their BS about Qualitest and all others work the same. I'm tired of being talked down to as all generics are NOT the same nor work for everyone.

Stay away from Rite-Aid as they only use Qualitest - unless it works for you.

Q- I honestly think is a placebo.

Sorry to be of no help but my pharmacy is going the way of all the other ordering Qual because excellium is no longer their own company. I am waiting to see what happens? Not looking good but I really don't know. Can you still by the name brand Ativan?

Has anyone had success with Buspar. If we have anxiety and no true depression than Buspar is supposed to help?

I've been taking 1 1/2mg (broke the 2mg tablet in half and the other half in half) for 6 years. It prevented nightmares. My pharmacy started buying another brand, the one you mentioned. I started taking it four nights ago and have had nightmares every night. Feels like no effect...

Yes you can buy "Ativan" at Sam's club, I'm pretty sure if you call around, all of you people, that don't like whatever generic you're getting, you'll find what you're lookin' for!

I have been using Mylan 1mg for 11 years with no problems. Chills me out and makes me drowsy. I always get them at CVS.

Buspar made me nauseous and couldn't function because I felt so bad... Stopped that after a week and went to Ativan daily.

Herbi, you don't know what you are talking about . It is not as easy as just calling another pharmacy and moving your prescription. Many pharmacies will not switch a lorazepam prescription from another because of the new laws regarding benzodiazepines and pharmacies. I know of 3 I have called and will not fill my prescription because I was getting it at Walgreens in the past. They do not care that it is a new prescription and that I have no other refills left.

Everyone is different, what don't work right for you may work right for another. It should be up to the customer which manufacturer to supply their order. Other countries sell it over the counter (OTC). And we're called land of the free? There should be age limits, unless dr prescribed. 21 should be the age limit required. People should have a choice. It's their lives to do what they want. Instead of all this bogus regulating, while the system poisons, medicates our waters and food supplies.

Dede, how is that Leading Pharma Lorazepam working out for you? I just got my refill (have been taking mylan for years) and knew the taste was different...checked the bottle and it was by Leading Pharma which I've NEVER heard of..made me wonder.

They should have at the very least called you to explain the cancelation of the brand back to the generic. If your paying out of pocket for the very high cost of Ativan and it's effective why fix what's not broken right . The only 2 exceptions would be someone called your doc or pharmacy for some irregularities . Now if your using insurance then your not self pay and they have the right to a generic equivelency substitute if the doc so agrees . I hope you requested your medical records so you know what charting notes the office made.the last thing you need is to be flagged as a drug seeker.hope you can straighten this out ......take care, Kenie

You should try going to Walmart or Walgreens, both of those carry the medication/manufacturer that you were on. CVS and target both carry the same stuff and it's not as good as Walmart or Walgreens and it has really bad side effects. Like I started experiencing throat problems and I was worse off on those then not taking it. So definitely check out Walmart and Walgreens pharmacies and also check out Costco. Costco has the best. Hope that helps.
