I'm 30 years old and my weight is 88.2pounds I want to gain some more pounds what is the best vitamins should I take. ## Generally, vitamin "deficiencies" are what influences weight gain; not necessarily the other way around. In my honest opinion, if you're looking to gain weight in the most natural and healthful way, it'll likely involve significant changes in one's diet and exercise habits. Meals may include whole nutrient dense foods with little to no empty calories, so you can get the most nutrition out of each and every bite. Another suggestion is to supplement with something that will help increase your appetite. Depending on your view, cannabis has extreme appetite increasing properties; however there are other pills/products/supplements out there that can...

I am 21years of age and my Dr. has precribed me Tayo Tables (1 tab Daily at Night). Its bcoz ihave lot of body pain. but before taking the tabs i just wanted to know are there any side effects of it ## Hi sshah, From what I can find, Tayo tablets contain Cholecalciferol, which is a nutritional supplement that's a form of vitamin D. It is not an analgesic and therefore- isn't used to treat pain. I did read that Vit D deficiency can cause chronic pain however, maybe that's why he prescribed it to you? Perhaps you can ask him in your next appointment. I hope this helps, please post back if you have any more questions!

I found a small clear pill with pink in the middle and no markings what is it? ## Hi John, Sorry, there's really no way to ID a pill without an imprint. All Rx and OTC drugs in the U.S. are required by law to have an imprint; otherwise it could be a vitamin, herbal, energy, diet, foreign or illicit. Based on your description, it sounds like a gel cap of some sort- so maybe it is a vitamin. Where did you find it?

What is most recommended to replace super malic--since I see it has been discontinued. I used it around 2000 and it really helped, while other brands did not. ## This was just a supplement that contained 200mgs of Malic Acid and 50mgs of Magnesium, these supplements are available in many products, as combinations or separately, so it is just a matter of finding something with those amounts. They should be available in most stores and vitamin shops. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I want to read the article by Russell et al published in J Rheumatology 1995 on a randomized study of Super Malic vs placebo, but cannot find it. Could you help me? I need to know the toxicities observed with daily Super Malic, can you help me? ## doctor suggest ZYLORIC for uric acid.this cause a ...

Found 2 red capsules (looks like white powder inside) in a small clear plastic sealed bag. ## If there are no markings, it is going to be difficult to narrow down what thse contain. We can rule them out as being U.S. prescription drugs, since those are all required to have markings to enable their identification. However, it could be any one of a large number of over the counter products or even a foreign medication. Where they found in the U.S. or elsewhere? ## Hello I have the exact same type of pill. It has white powder in it, no markings, and when I opened it it smelled really sweet. I am thinking possibly a cranberry vitamin/supplement??? Are there any products that are packaged like that?

i would like to know what metichol tablets or pills are ## Hi Francy, I can't find any information about "Metichol" tablets, my only guess (based on research) is that Metichol may be a brand name of the medication known as Choline Inositol. According to Livestrong.com, Choline is related to the family of B vitamins. It protects the liver from building up fat and reduces overall cholesterol. Inositol works in conjunction with choline to prevent the accumulation of fats in the liver. Additionally, it helps the body utilize the nutrients in food. Due to their synergistic nature, Inositol and Choline are commonly found in supplements together. Some people take Inositol and Choline supplements to naturally supplement their efforts for overall health and cholesterol reduction, say...

sounds like ## I think this person may have been seeking information on Ferrous Sulfate, which is the technical name for Iron, this is the form that's commonly used in supplements to treat anemia. It can cause some side effects, such as dark stool and constipation. It can also be dangerous if too much is taken, so please always follow your doctor's instructions. Are there any questions or comments?

hormone ## I specifically requested bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and my Ob/Gyn prescribed Angelique. I wonder if it has a brand name if it truly is bioidentical. ## In case anyone else is seeking the same information, the answer is no. The natural, bio-identical hormones cannot be patented or trademarked, since they are natural substances. It is similar to a vitamin, which cannot be patented or trademarked either, for the same reasons. Something can only be patented/trademarked when it is, in some way, unique. Such as when vitamins undergo specially processing and have special stuff added to make them a proprietary formula. The same is true of hormones, the synthetic ones that are created can be patented, but the natural ones cannot. When it comes to the natural, bio-identic...

how many mg of iron is there ## how many mgs of Iron are there in Ferrex 150 casules ## 150mgs, that's why it's included in the name and there are also several other nutrients in them, Vitamin C, Folic Acid, Vitamin B 12 and Succinic Acid. The dose of the added vitamins and the ones included is different between the two formulations available, but the amount of iron is the same in both. Since it contains iron, it may cause nausea, constipation and darkened stool. Are there any questions or comments? Is there anything else I can help with?

What type of medication/vitamin is the pill marked "AARP 371?" ## I'm sorry, but several that use the AARP imprint have been asked about recently and I haven't been able to find identifications for them. It seems that the AARP offers over the counter items to its members at a discount, but since they are OTC, they are not required to log the imprints with the FDA. I'll keep looking and post back as soon as I know anything. Does anyone else recognize this and know what it is?

pill for iron deficiency, anemia maybe otc ## ferrous sulfate ## In regards to these, this is just the chemical name for an iron supplement, there are both prescription and non-prescription supplements that are available. The appropriate one depends on how low someone's iron levels are, when tested. And there are also some conditions where adding additional iron is contraindicated and too much of it can be very dangerous, so please check with your doctor, before adding it. It can also cause side effects, such as nausea, joint aches, darkened stool and constipation. Are there any comments or questions?

What is expected of a nurse to do or know before giving a patient a multivitamin supplement ## Looking at it from their perspective, I can only imagine that they would first have to know whether or not your body was even deficient in certain nutrients to merit reason for giving patients a multivitamin supplement to begin with. Most multivitamins I know of generally do not pose any serious risks that you should be concerned about if taken appropriately. Most of the foods/drinks we consume on a daily basis are either fortified with vitamins & minerals or already naturally contain them. With that said, it doesn't seem like there would be any special nursing responsibilities outside of being sanitary, when it comes to giving a patient some vitamins. This is just my theory as I am no...

what are the side effects. does it really help in weight loss, hair loss, hypothyroid?? Results happen soon? ## Hello, According to everydayhealth.com, " Iodine Plus-2 is a supplement made of iodine, vitamin B-2, vitamin B-3, and selenium. The thyroid gland converts iodine to the thyroid hormone. In most cases of low thyroid, however, the thyroid gland is not working properly, or the signal from the brain to the thyroid is not working. Iodine is only recommended for an iodine-deficiency hypothyroidism. Most people ingest enough table salt in their daily diet that they do not require iodine supplements. If the thyroid gland is not processing iodine correctly, the extra iodine could build up in the body to unsafe levels. The rest of the ingredients can boost energy, but do not correct...
