Having problems finding this product. Has it been discontinued and if so, do you know why?

Hi- I have to run out at lunch and would like to try the B&L - I'm confused with these posts though- can you please LMK which product I should be looking for exactly?

I went to Walmart this morning and found the shelf restocked with B+L Advanced Maximum Redness eye drops, so I bought a double pack. I should have returned the other ones.

Just go to the B+L official home page like Todd advised me. On the l/h side of the page, click "our products" and go from there. You'll see their different eye drops. You want the one that says "Maximum Redness" on the front.

Now mind you, when I say these are some of the best eye drops out there right now, I don't mean on the same level as Visine LR... at least, not for me. Visine LR was better because it contained oxymetazoline, plain an simple. It also made my eyes very bright. I miss them so. :-)

However, these B+L eye drops will suffice. They contain a lubricant that is somewhat soothing and at least you know they are safe. Many people here are mixing their own solutions, but I didn't want to go that route.

Sorry Traci. I called you Lisa. :-) And I can't simply just say that, because this site is telling me to leave a "detailed message."

Walmart is pulling certain products from their store shelves.

In recent months, at least two "popular" products that I have been buying for years from Walmart are now only available thru Walmart's website. It really sux to pay that extra money for the shipping. Plus, the prices for the 2 products have also gone up.

This thread is timeless! Several years back as Visine L.R. was disappearing from the shelves, I came to read everyone's suggestions. Today, I find it's still here and thriving.

My contribution: I have found that absolutely no eye drops on store shelves work for me. My eye doctor continues to suggest Blink lubricating drops. I am a contact lense wearer, and I experience dryness. Blink helps my eyes feel better when they are irritated, but nothing can remove my daily red like oxymetazoline. It's very costly at around $35 per bottle, but a two-bottle supply will last me between 4-6 months. Since I don't pay expenses for other pharmaceuticals and have low healthcare costs, I can justify the expense of these drops, more or less. I have not tried the other products offered, but I'll stick with Allergex since it's effective and available.

As with all the oxymetazoline drops now available, the label says do not use after 30 days from the date you open the bottle. So, you have had no adverse effects from using a bottle from 4 to 6 months? Thanks.

Just checking in here. As many of you know, I guess Walmart is competing with Amazon's Internet order success by yanking items from shelves and offering lower prices, esp when you pick the items up from their stores.

I don't feel hopeful that we will ever get our oxymetazoline eye drops back. Probably only a brand new company/pharmacy would make it for us consumers.

I know I'm majorly digressing, but I just purchased a new tube of Crest Pro Health toothpaste and it is SO different.

It seems that hardly anything will remain the same anymore. It's pretty sad.

Purchased Oxylin 8 months ago. Usage: 2/days - no problem.

Lorena, I've been using Oxylin for 8 months. I use 2 drops per day. No problems at all.
Avoid bottle tip contact to the eyes or lids and you should not have a problem. They cut down preservatives so that's why they recommend do not use after 30 days of opening.

So been following this site for some time. Long time LR user that finally had to cut over to B & L Max Redness as a last ditch alternative when LR ran out. B & L is OK, but nowhere near the product LR was. So question for those out there using Cendo, Zoamet, Allergex or Oxylin. Which is best if you tried more than one? I am leaning towards buying Allergex but would love your feedback.

Mark, Oxylin works best for me. I tried all the others. I used VLR for 20 years.

Which 4? I like Allergex & Cendo Asthenhof the best, as their effect is long lasting -6 hours or more; but they are difficult to buy. Visine A and B & L Redness reliever are easy to purchase on the internet but their effect lasts for just an hour or 2.

I wish Occuclear came back!! (that was discontinued in the 90s). That was the best IMO.

Im currently still using some outdated Visine LR which still works better than Allergex, my current alternative. I may try Cendo. Damn Visine!

Hi Dave, I have not tried Oxylin. Is it worth trying? & as for Zoamet - I found it a bit harsh.

Regarding Cendo Asthenhof - Where do you buy it from? Cos I found some places to be horribly expensive. I once managed to get it through a friend who had some contacts in Indonesia. & we are going to visit Bali at the end of this month for a holiday and I am gonna see if it's possible to establish regular contact for getting Cendo directly from Indonesia because it seems to be very inexpensive (as per information on the internet) in Indonesia. Though it's hard to be sure because most of the sites are not in English.

Dear Mark, yes Allergex seems to be the best in terms of the product, size & price. I use Allergex when better & longer results are required, combined with BL Redness reliever when one can manage without the widest eye look - these also soothe my eyes quite nicely!

I found Oxylin to be a bit harsh on my eyes. Cendo and Zoamet came in 5ml bottles. Less practical in price, but easy to carry and worked okay for me. Allergex (15ml) is the only one I have re-ordered. But different strokes for different folks. Others have their favorites.

I am in Bali, Indonesia where CENDO ASTHENHOF is manufactured. I went to a good pharmacy close to the Hotel & asked for CENDO.

Important :- the bottles are only 5ml, just as well cause they MUST BE used within ONE MONTH of opening the bottle; one month after opening they really don't work well.

They aren't sold online because :- they are not exactly OTC eye-drops. They need to see the person they are dispensing it to. They are manufactured with a 3 year validity/ expiry date (so the bottles I purchased are valid till June 2020.) They cost a little over USD 2 per bottle in a pharmacy.

I did the only thing I could think of, ie, buy a large quantity (they offered a 3% discount). Hope this info helps in some way!

I have tried Allergex and Oxylin. Hands down Oxylin is the winner for me. Allergex doesn't work as well for me. Oxylin keeps my eyes white all day long with one drop. During the day if I get stressed or am staring at a computer, will get some redness but it passes. Where before I would be putting in more drops which as we all know sometimes makes matters worse! With B & L Max I would have to put in drops at least twice a day and eyes never looked great. Oxylin does burn like FIRE the first few seconds after using but goes away quickly. Anyone else notice this?

Appreciate those who keep this site alive. Until LR comes back, I feel like I have got my eyes back under control, which is a big deal for most of us on here.
