Having problems finding this product. Has it been discontinued and if so, do you know why?

The place that carries the Zoamet eye drops is alldaypills (based in India). I ordered 10 bottles and shipping is 25 dollars. I received them two weeks after ordering them.The only problem is the bottles are only 5ml. 1/3 of the Visine. It worked for me but you never know with these websites.

I gave them a promise-if they don't do so, at least via direct mail sales-then I (and my family and anyone I can convince) plan to boycott all their products, period. Might as well go straight for the bottom line. Let's face it. Corporations have no ethics, no soul, no moral guidelines. Regardless of any and all facetious claims to the contrary, they know only one thing-an insatiable hunger for profit. Give 'em hell! If and whenever necessary, hit 'em where it hurts!

I began MY boycott of Johnson & Johnson after I learned of the discontinuation of Visine LR. You want to stop manufacturing and distributing the best drops found on the market? I will then stop buying ALL of your products. How's that?

Christina; I remember Ocuclear! Those eye drops were great, until they too were discontinued. :-( I actually went to a pharmacist, and asked him about which eye drops had the ingredient oxymetazoline in them. He looked it up on the computer, and recommended the Visine Long Lasting eye drops. It ticks me off that these drops are being discontinued! These are really the only drops that I can use, since I have sensitive eyes. Any other eye drops that I have tried make my eyes burn and turn red. I hope they bring these Visine drops back! I wear contact lenses and have allergies, so these eye drops are a must for me. If I don't use them, my eyes are burning and red all day (drives me crazy!).

Occuclear has not been available in the U.S. for some time. I miss those drops too, they were great. I hate it when a company quits making a product that I love. Johnson and Johnson, you suck!!! I was lucky enough to find one bottle of LR at a local drug store, but I had to go to about 5 or 6 drug stores to find it. This is ridiculous!! I don't know what I'm going to do when this bottle of eye drops runs out. SMDH!!!

I for one am more than willing to join the boycott of Johnson and Johnson's products. Thanks for posting the link.

Another angle I am pursing (and hoping you may join me in) is contacting the makers of Nostrilla (a nose spray with oxymetazoline) that is currently on the market. You can email them at: [email protected]

I have told them to please consider making an eyedrop with oxymetazoline since they are already using the ingredient. I informed them that Johnson and Johnson stopped producing Visine LR and that there isn't ANY EYEDROPS ON THE MARKET WITH OXYMETAZOLINE. I added that they would be the only US Company to do so and would manufacture a much needed product. Prestige Brands actually sent me a letter saying they are passing my request to Marketing and Quality Assurance personnel!

Great recommendation, Christina! Thank you for being such a champion for us all.

Guys, it is absolutely critical for us all to work as one and continue to make noise and ensure our voices are heard. Fact is, change will only occur if the public demand is felt and heard.

Please continue to sign the petitions, make the phone calls, post on social networking sites and demand that change is needed. And perhaps the noise will resonate to those that can initiate and evoke change to allow us to once again be able to enjoy relief and satisfaction.

I'll betcha that if another company comes along, makes a new oxymetazoline eye drops and news of its effectiveness gets around to all the consumers who currently don't better, Johnson & Johnson would then bring Visine LR back or make something new with the ingredient. J&J would not sit back and let another company grab its former consumers.

I have friends who had no idea that many people use eye drops every day. They're like, "Really?" Because they use eye drops once in a blue moon. And most did not know that there was actually a very good eye drops on the market. They've used those other drops when they are sick, etc, and the eye drops didn't seem to do much to encourage their use more often.

I think there are still a lot of consumers who have no idea that the oxymetazoline drops work. Unlike some of the other eye drops, Visine LR never stings my eyes.

I remember when this happened a couple years ago. It was terrible! I had to go months with irritated red eyes for months. I ended up getting visine workplace from a Canadian pharmacy and it was pretty much the same thing as visine lr, but now visine workplace is discontinued too=( I don't know what to do now. Im all out of eye drops. If someone finds eye drops that have oxymetazoline in it, PLEASE HELP!

Thank you BOTH (and everyone else) for taking action to get Visine LR back and/or other eyedrops with oxymetazoline on the market. I am grateful we have this forum to vent and share information but I really believe as Daryl we need to take some kind of ACTION with the manufacturers.

If you are new to this page, please read other posts below to find out what you can do:

1. Sign the petition to bring Visine LR back

2. See the list of J& J products to boycott

3. Find the email address to the makers of Nostrilla (a nasal spray with oxymetazoline currently on the market). Tell them to make an eyedrop with oxymetazoline, that there isn't any of the US market, and they would produce a much needed product! I forgot to mention that with their letter saying they would present this idea to their marketing personnel, they also sent me a couple for one of their products for free.

4. THIS ONE IS NEW: Find the email address to the makers of Afrin (another nasal spray with oxymetazoline currently on the market.) Tell them the facts as mentioned above. bayercare.com/emailus.cfm

5. Some ideas that others are using to help their eyes in the interim (everything from using diluted nasal sprays to ordering internationally)

Have you guys seen what's been happening on Ebay with Visine long lasting ? Check out Visine long lasting under sold listings. Just search the product and click sold listings on the left side of there web page. People are paying $30..$40..$50 + a bottle!

I called the J&J customer call center and they said they had no idea this was happening with there product. My guess is prices will only go up even more as left over stock is sold out on ebay and amazon. I believe this scalping that's going on with this J&J's product must be brought to there attention in your petition. Maybe then they will once again get message that there is a real market need for this product and bringing it back. In addition it may also help stop some of these unscrupulous merchants who are racking in huge profits off others peoples misery and need for relief...bit harsh? well maybe... but you guys be the judge.

I despise paying $40 a bottle, but making a profit is the American entrepreneurial way! It sure is better to see someone making a profit off basic supply and demand rather than asking the government for a hand-out! Oh, and have you seen the prices that J&J is charging for pharmaceuticals! Drugs that cost $1 to manufacturer are being sold for tens of thousands per dose. The only reason that J&J would be upset about LR selling for $40 is because they didn't think of it first!

I also sent an email to Nanjing Tianlang Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd, telling them the situation with Johnson & Johnson, and that there is a need for their oxymetazoline eye drops, since Visine LR was discontinued without a replacement.
