Having problems finding this product. Has it been discontinued and if so, do you know why?

Sorry, I haven't replied before. I just receiced the Zoamet last night. It comes in a 5ml bottle. 1/3 of the size of Visine L.R. Great drops, my eyes cleared immediately and the most important they stayed clear. Personally I think it works better that the last batches of the Visine L.R. Let's see how it works.

Johnson & Johnson sent me a follow-up email regarding my complaints to them. They attached a medical questionnaire form that really had nothing do with what I contacted them about. So, I contacted them again and directed them to this blog. I hope someone reads it.

Thank you for signing the petition. I wonder why Johnson and Johnson sent a medical questionnaire to you? Strange, not addressing the issue. I plan to send the signed petition to them once I get more signatures. I don't know what else to do but am open to suggestions.

Oh my goodness, here we are again.... I was super excited to see that Rite Aid was once again having a 2-dollar coupon sale for Visine, so I went on the hot pursuit with that coupon along with a coupon from visine's website to purchase Visine LR bottles. I usually pick up 5 or 6 when the sale happens. So I went to two Rite Aids yesterday and found NOTHING. I wasn't too worried, as they sometimes don't stock LR. Then, for grins I came to this site to see if there were updates to this thread from years ago... NOOOOOOOOOOO this cannot be happening AGAIN. I signed the petition. I have a stockpile of about 20 bottles, thank goodness .... so I'm going to hit the Walgreens, CVS and whereever I can find this to see if I can get one or two or however many bottles at whatever the price. I can't run out of this.

I use to get Visine Workplace from Canada the last time Visine l.r. Wasn't available in the U.S. I tried to order it again last night and they don't have it as well. Anybody find a decent backup eye drop that works???? Please let me know.

I tried to reply yesterday but it's not showing up... no wonder I couldn't find it at the 2 Rite Aid stores I went to on Sunday (new coupon campaign where it would cost roughly 1.23 a bottle with stacked coupons). I can't believe this, thank goodness I always kept a running stockpile. I went to a Walgreens and CVS yesterday; nothing. This morning on the way to work, I went to another Rite Aid and found one bottle. I think I did a happy dance in the aisle. Christina -- I also signed the petition and contacted the company.

I as well have had no luck finding Visine LR in the last 3 months. This is quite disheartening as it is the ONLY product that has ever worked for my issues with daily severe red eye. Does anyone know why it's been removed indefinitely from shelves? Has anyone found a descent alternative product? I see some feedback on here regarding another product called ZOAMET, which I have never heard of. How can I obtain Zoamet??

I've heard of Zoamet from this board, but what we need is a RELIABLE site to order this from. Just like we found reliable sites from Canada to order Workplace back in the day, we need one to get the Zoamet. I picked up the Rite Aid Allergy drops this morning along with my one precious bottle of Long Lasting based on recommendations from others. It was pricey for a "store brand" but it will be worth it if it's a doable replacement.

I just signed the petition!! Here is what i sent them as for WHY they need to bring this back, "I have a severe condition with daily red eye, and this product is the only thing that has ever worked over the past 10 years. I need this product desperately. I do not believe that is was discontinued due to slow sales? When it was on shelves, it was a HUGE seller at Walgreen's. Many times I had to order it online because it was always sold out! PLEASE bring this back, raise the price if you have too, do not let your loyal customers suffer."

well I just spent a complete (lunch) hour going to 3 different drug stores and I found 2 bottles! (In the last store). So between Sunday (11/2) when I started the quest, thinking there was NO shortage.... I was just adding to my stockpile because Rite Aid was havning their 2 dollar off campaign (again) and I had 1.50 off coupons to stack (which made it such a sweet deal), here is a list of places I've gone and bottles I found:

Sunday 11/2 - 2 Rite Aids - 0 Bottles found
Monday 11/3 - 1 Walgreens, 1 CVS - 0 Bottles found
Tuesday 11/4 - 3 Rite Aids (one on way to work), 1 CVS - 3 Bottles found (1 at first Rite Aid and 2 at last).

So, although it's discontinued, there may be some stock out there. And I just realized something... I have ALOT of drug stores in my local area. And it looks like Rite Aid is the top runner.... lol. So 3 more Bottles added to my stash. I'm thinking of starting to wind myself down to drops every-other-day to make my stockpile last a few years. Maybe by then someone will develop SOMETHING to make us happy.

So, I tried to order from Granville Pharmacy from Canada where I had ordered Visine Workplace from in 2010. When you go to their website it has Visine Workplace listed as in stock. So I tried to order 5 bottles, but my Mastercard wouldn't go through. So I called them today to see why and then they said they only take Amex, I thought it was strange... but she said their website had to be updated. Ok then, so I had the lady check on stock before I attempt to order again... DISCONTINUED. arrrrrgh.

I received another email from Johnson & Johnson. I don't know if they are just giving me the run-around.

In the email, they said that for their Quality Assurance team to investigate Visine products, they wanted the following additional information:

* Product UPC Bar Code number (square of parallel lines which gets scanned at register)
* Lot number, which is a series of numbers and letters stamped on the back or bottom of the product or embossed on the crimped end of the tube
* Expiration Date (if available)
* Additional description of the problem
* Your phone number

I replied back to them, stating that I have no issue with them or their products--I just want Visine LR to come back. I also gave them the requested information from one of my unopened bottles of Visine LR.

Again, I directed them to this website to read this blog.

I am glad you have been able to find a few remaining boxes of Visine LR. I however and others have not been so fortunate. There have not been any Visine LR stocked here in Southern California stores PERIOD for months. This is the reason I decided to start a petition on change.org to bring the product back. I have heard from others on this site that they have not been able to find Visine Workplace in Canada for months as well.

There may be eyedrops in South Africa and India with oxymetazoline as you find posted on this site however so far no one has been able to tell us how to order them internationally. If you do find any alternatives to Visine LR (especially with oxymetazoline) or a way to try these international eyedrops, please post it here. I know all of us would appreciate it. Also, I don't know if Johnson and Johnson, will even listen once I submit the petition, but I am at least giving it a try. I have told the group here I am open to any other productive suggestions.

Folks, so far it just doesn't look very good for us :(

I received a reply from Johnson & Johnson after I submitted the information they requested. They wrote in the email, "Yes, the VISINE LR has been discontinued..."

J&J also wrote that they are very concerned about my report regarding the other Visine eye drops. Johnson & Johnson has to know their other eye drops don't really work.

There was also a confusion on my part, and they apologized. J&J wanted the exp date, Lot # etc from packages of OTHER Visine eye drops that I had tried that did not work. They said they want to reimburse me for them. Of course, I do not have that information, as I tried most of their other eye drops years and years ago. If the more current ones did not have oxymetazoline in them, I never bought them.

If J&J refuses to budge, I believe another company will have to see the consumers' need and create a new eye drop containing oxymetazoline. I personally still believe that Visine probably figures that with Visine LR off the market, they will sell more of their other "useless" eye drops.
