Visine Lr Discontinued? (Page 18)

Having problems finding this product. Has it been discontinued and if so, do you know why?

I have to agree with Traci. Didn't last too long. By mid day, I looked like I drank a 12 pack. What do we do about this problem???

Go online and send your thoughts to the Johnson & Johnson company. Go to their home page and get contact information. If enough people complain, they will likely listen. I just wrote them and asked that if they do not bring Visine LR back, then please create another eye drop with "oxymetazoline" in it.

It's just ridiculous that companies do this to consumers. They are starting to change everything--taking ingredients out here and there to save money. They even do it to food! They don't want to lose any money at all, so they start shaving things down. It's just greed. Long ago, products remained original, but not anymore.

I found this thread for the same reason as the others - my beloved eye drops are no longer found. I am a Mom on newborn twins - I need my visine long lasting redness relief. I sent Visine an email - and they are sending me coupons for more visine but I already know it will not work as well as these drops :( I am seriously considering going on ebay and stocking up.

You said you sent Visine an email. Are you sure it went to the Johnson & Johnson company? I didn't send an email, as I went to the J&J's homepage. There was a form there to fill out and send.

I have already received an email back from the company, asking me to call them. The email/letter contained a reference number that I had to give them. I called the number and talked to a very nice young lady who also wrote down additional personal information about me.

Seriously guys, if more of you respond as I have done, we will possibly get Johnson & Johnson to put Visine LR (or a comparable eye drop) back on the market. If they only hear from a few people, it's not very likely to happen.

By email I meant I filled out the form on the contact us page @ visine.com - which is essentially an email to Visine. And I got a reply via email.

It would be so great to get this product back on the market!

I have done exactly as you have done. Several times in fact.
I have emailed as well as spoken on the phone. They know my name at Johnson
and Johnson. I have also asked for any substitute eye drops that may be made with oxymetazoline. So far, nothing has occurred. Perhaps as you said, if more people will bug them, they may bring Visine LR back. Unfortunately, I don't know if they will though.

Yay, and good for you! Lots of people will be angry and disappointed about this situation, but many will not contact the company.

I don't search for things to complain about, but when something is not right, I will definitely write a letter or contact someone. I believe companies appreciate the feedback. It lets them know that buyers are noticing what they are doing.

From what I gathered, Visine LR was discontinued to save money. Perhaps, using the ingredient oxymetazoline costs a bit more. The discontinuation supposedly was NOT about children ingesting the eyedrops and becoming seriously ill. It seems to boil down to what I suspected--money! It was a sales and marketing decision.

When I spoke with the nice young lady, I got a strange "esp moment" that Visine had already heard from other consumers about this. I think by them asking me certain questions, they wanted to make sure different people are contacting them.

I told the woman the other eye drops simply do not work. It's a problem when there is no product on the market to meet your needs. Luckily, I began to buy my Visine LR in bulk off the internet, so I still have 3 left. But after that???

I shudder at the thought!

A few years ago, I thought I read on the internet that another Visine eye drop contained oxymetazoline, but I have not researched to see if it was true. Must not be true, or most of you would have found it by now.

I also explained to the woman that OcuClear contained oxymetazoline and that it was what I used first as a younger woman. Then it was taken off the market and, thankfully, Visine LR came out containing the same ingredient. I told her I have used Visine LR eye drops "every single day" for many years. My eyesight is now naturally dimming a bit from age, but photos of my eyes are completely clear. I have great eyes. No eye diseases, no signs of cholesterol or high blood pressure in my eyes.

Even if my eyes weren't very red, after sleeping, wearing mascara, having little sleep, etc, Visine LR soothed and made my eyes feel better.

I'm sorry this is so long...

Please, everyone--let Johnson & Johnson hear your voices!

I just remembered one more thing about Visine LR and my use of it.

I put Visine LR in my eyes in the morning, so generally I use it once per day. I wear makeup and mascara. After putting on makeup, I do not use more eye drops every few hours. My eyes would become super-irritated if I did that. The only times I use more drops in a day is if I redo my makeup later on. I remove every trace of makeup and wash my face before putting more eye drops into my eyes.

Over the course of an entire day, my eyes may not remain white-white, but they still look normal and not bloodshot

Bottom line is, we need the eye drops that last -- not those we have to constantly use throughout the day. Inferior eye drops force us to use more of the product. We in turn have to buy them more often and that may be what J&J would like to see us do.

You never know these days.

I ordered the Generic version from India (Zoamet). I expect to receive them in two weeks. Hopefully they work the same as Visine L.R.

I also saw the Zoamet but could not figure out how to order it, none of the places that I saw shipped to the U.S. I would be greatly interested to know where Ameliev ordered

I think we are out of luck as far as ordering the eyedrops from India. I don't see any websites that send out items internationally. Perhaps, Ameliav knows someone locally there? I am just speculating because she hasn't responded to our posts.

I continue to bother Johnson and Johnson to bring Visine LR back. I am feeling fairly depressed :(

I have been stock piling as well..... cannot make it without these eye drops. I have 20 stockpiled and cannot find them anywhere.....I go through a bottle a month so less then a years worth left and I am almost having panic attacks over it.....I signed the petition...everyone needs to!

Please if you are so inclined sign the petition on change.org (link listed above) asking Johnson and Johnson to bring back Visine LR.

I don't know what else to do. If others have any suggestions, let me know. For now, I think the more people we have to support our cause, the more likely we may get a response from Johnson and Johnson.
