Do you know how may milliliters you get for $200?

Wow, $200?!?!? No wonder why they wouldn't quote me a price... You should be able to get them covered if you're on a prescription plan. Just have your doctor prescribes them for allergies (which is what oxymetazoline is used to treat).

I figured they'd be about $80 but $200 is nuts!

I was just looking at my ebay purchase history and when I couldn't find any VLR back in 2013 I bought a lot of 4 online for $13.00 + $2.50 shipping. I got them delivered to my door for under $4.00 a piece and now the same seller has them listed for $125.00 a pop! Which is really not bad considering the $200 price.

I'm having positive results with the Allergex eye drops. They are a little better and cheaper than the Zoamet but nothing really works like VLR. I apply 1-2 drops of VLR everyday before showering and it literally last all day unless I'm very tired and/or stressed from work. Allergex is very close but VLR will be definitely be missed.

Hopefully J & J brings back oxymetazoline in some sort of Long Lasting Allergy Relief formula or maybe they will just continue to market their ten new products that contain tetrahydrozoline after they discontinued their only product that worked as advertised!

I've been stocking up on Allergex and Zoamet just in case something happens with those products.

Just spoke to CPL who says they can make a mix equivalent to Visine LR but costs about $200. Same thing if ya order the original online....

VLR Lover,

Yes, please do let me know if you order from CPL. I am leaning towards not using the afrin solution (even though I know a lot of people do) for my eyes. I also would be more inclined to get eyedrops from the US if they are available. I know when I get real desperate however these thoughts may change!

Haven't tried CPL yet. I've been going back and forth with my last bottles of VLR and the Zoamet that I have and everything seems fine. I bought some Allergex from ebay (it also has oxymetazoline) and I'm waiting to see how it works but I do eventually plan on trying CPL. I figure the cost at CPL will be similar to what I'm paying for Zoamet and Allergex and will probably only try CPL when the other eye drops containing Oxymetazoline are no longer available.

I don't mind paying the extra cost for actual eye drops in order to protect my vision. There is a small chance that putting affrin in your eyes will have a very negative effect and I'd rather pay the cost for actual eye drops rather than possibly going blind in order to save a couple dollars (especially how much money I waste on unnecessary things). With that said, I can see myself calling CPL when right before it comes down to putting affrin in my eyes! I'll let you know when I do!

Yes, and I just posted that I've been using 25% Afrin, to 75% generic Walmart eye moisturizer for less than $2 and been getting great results! Any more Afrin than that and I do feel a little sting, and I think people are using more Afrin than they need to on this thread.

I have been mixing mine 25% Afrin, and 75% a Walmart generic eye moistener, and have had great results. Any more Afrin than that and I get a stinging sensation, and I don't see the need for it, the results are great! Every body should just try it, and definitely don't pay outrageous e-bay prices for Visine LR for the same results.

VLR Lover or Anyone Else,

I am just wondering if you have tried contacting Custom Prescriptions of Lancaster?

Thank you.

Occifer,

My experience: I did one part Afrin (12 hour, red and white bottle) to two parts Artificial tears. (others have tried Visine tears) There is no sting and it works the same as VLR.

I understand the apprehension, but Afrin has the same active ingredient as what many are ordering from India.

Anyone reading this ever mixed their own blend of 1 drop of Aftrin to 3 drops of just a tear drop from any brand (I suppose we're just trying to dilute the potent effect of the oxymetalozine right?). I have heard others say one drop of Afrin to 2 drops of Visine Tears.. But I'm afraid (like others have said) to put a nose agent in my eyes! Kind of scary but I'm about out of Visine LR and I've used one drop in the AM for about 25 yrs! Again, does it matter what type of baseline eye drop we mix with Afrin? As long as it has no astringent agent, just moisturizers?

I'm just going to really miss Visine LR. Nothing is like it, period. Zoamet is a close second - but let's face it. Visine LR was perfect. Price, too. I used to wait until a good Rite Aid sale with their coupon and use a manufacturer coupon too. There were times I could buy a bottle for 1.25 this way. I'm SO glad I never stopped stock piling them when the sale would hit. I still have a few bottles left. So I've been back to experimenting with the B & L in one eye and LR in the other one day. Then trying the Rohto and LR and Zoamet and LR. Today was a B & L day. I had eye makeup ok and I took a brief nap prior to going out to an appointment. My eyes were super itchy from allergies. The LR side looked ok but the BL side was irritated looking. I put a drop of LR in each to smooth them and out the door I went. I guess if I'm brave enough to use eye drops that came from India via eBay that came to me with a questionable seal - I am really considering making my own with Afrin to try. Again just one eye at a time.

Zoamet is a suitable substitute...

They're a little warmer when applying and they seemed to make me somewhat glassy but Zoamet did have the most similar effect to VLR over any other drops I've tried.

I put one drop in each eye around 11am and went outside to work. It started to rain around 5pm so I came inside and took a nap. When I woke around 6:45pm my eyes were ridiculously red and glassy. This sometimes happens with VLR when I'm extremely exhausted and I was in the hot sun all week and have been tired so I just reapplied the Zoamet and my eyes cleared right up like normal. It's now 12am and they are still white so I'd say Zoamet is suitable!

Received 2 bottles of VLR today from Ebay for $53.00. exp 12/2015. This would appear to be the outmost expiration date. Don't buy a bottle for ~ $ 100, or 2 for $ 200. and, DON'T use the "BUY NOW" option. If you want the last of the VLR like myself go for the bidding on the 12/2015 expiration in hope of a manufacturer setting itself up for HUGE sales in the nearby future.

Ok so I did it. I put 2 drops of Visine LR in my left eye and 2 drops of Zoamet in my right eye this morning. It's almost 4:30pm and both my eyes look the same. Fairly white still. My observations: Zoamet is a smaller bottle. It seems to work the same way. It does NOT feel the same going into the eye. The LR gives a cool feeling to the eye that makes my eye feel good as it's going in the eye. The Zoamet stings a little. Due to the difficult nature of obtaining the Zoamet - I will probably choose to not order any from alldaypills. I will switch to B&L advanced eye relief redness maximum relief when my LR runs out. Or I may consider using it every-other-day to make my LR stash last a longer period of time. I'm glad I purchased the Zoamet though. It was worth trying it.

Hi all,

I've continued to use Zoamet and it does seem to be working throughout the day just like LR but I find I still have to use B&L Max Relief in the morning and then Zoamet right after that. Then, for the rest of the day I seem to be o.k. with just the Zoamet. I'm not sure why this is the case but I can't wait to hear more results as others try it out for the first time. Christina in PA, keep us posted as to how you like it once you try it! I've ordered more. This time I emailed them directly and they sent me an invoice through PayPal. Once I submitted my payment through PayPal she confirmed she had received it and will send me the tracking number when it ships. I hope all the bottles arrive with full product this time.

I've also noticed what RC Christian has noticed. New LR is popping up on Amazon with September expiration dates and those expiration dates are posted on Amazon but weren't before. Interesting. Maybe certain sellers recognized a golden opportunity and seized batches from other online locations after retail shelf quantities were depleted. Now they're selling on Amazon for almost $200.00 per bottle. Crazy.

Hi - I got them from alldaypill - but it was shipped from seventh star (honestly - can't remember - but it was seventh something)

I've used it for 3 days now....and no different than LR aside from the initial sting in the morning that lasts all of 2 seconds. As a replacement, I feel it's tops at this point.

If someone told me I would ever order eye drops from India a year ago- I'd laugh at them. Desperate times call for desperate measures! :)

I have seen several bottles with 9/15 expiration dates turning up. It seems 5/15 exp was the last batch that hit stores. Wonder where these seemingly new found bottles are originating from?

I got my Zoamet from eBay. I'm almost afraid to try though. I can't remember when I opened the bottle id I broke a seal or not. There was no plastic seal around the cap and bottle. Just a seal that you see on a bottle of water or soda pop. I will think about it and just use in one eye not both.

Traci,

Where did you order your zoamet eyedrops from?

Thank you for letting us all know about your experience!

I did receive an order of Zoamet. I used it at 7am, and now 1245pm - it's the same as LR would be. Big thumbs up so far!!!!
