Going to start it tomorrow. Anyone else taking it, and if so, how do you like it?

Thanks!

Had a nightmare experience on Viibryd. Just after a month on 10 mg, I began to feel very wound up in the afternoon. Doctor decide to cut the dose by 1/4 of pill -- and for first time in life at night I woke up with anxiety over the top, soaring feeling. And then getting off this tiny dose if Viibryd has been wicked. It is by far the worst experience I have ever had on any drug of any sort, including other AD. When all these new Viibryd users start to go off of it, I think there is going to be quite a problem out there. be careful.

Taking 40 mg. for four months. I missed one dose. That night I had horrible feeling of being awake but not being able to move or call out. When I connected it the missed dose of Viibryd, I took it right away. The anxiety went away. I am scared to death of the withdrawal from this drug.

My advice to you is to go very very slow. I went off of
30 mg day for 2 months over the course of 16 days---
going down by 5 mg at a time. I would suggest that
you give yourself a month to get off of 40 mg's with the
least "brain shocks" etc. If you do it slowly enough,
the coming down stuff isn't all that bad. Just be
patient with yourself. (It doesn't hurt to have a few
Ativan or Xanax on hand for the rough patches.)
I wish you luck and better health. We all need to encourage one another. This "defecto brain" that we
have to work with everyday is a challenge that the "regulars" can't even imagine. And yet we go on.

Same here, I had so many problems I didn't even know if they were connected to the Viibryd but knew they HAD to be! Everything hurt! From feet joints to neck, I was getting zapped every night 3 hours before the next dose was due. I was up to the 40's when this happened and then my doctor suggested maybe I was all of the sudden bi-polar or something because I was agitated and dizzy and crying and getting zapped...seriously! I am 46 and have been ok my whole life until Viibryd...talk about MAD! I took half doses for 2 days and have taken nothing for 2 days now...I can not get out of bed. I have no idea what to do.

This is powerful stuff. I don't know how an antidepressant can cause muscle and joint pain, but I have experienced this also. Call your doctor.

ok...7 days off Viibryd, I could not take the nausea, dizziness and overall sick feeling so I began taking some left over prozac I had at 20 mg per night about three days ago along with a couple Fish oil caps twice a day, the improvement has been huge. I am still going to switch doctors ASAP. He had me taking the Viibryd which was causing pain and headaches, so I took the tramadol he gave me and then because I was having severe migraines so I took my Amerge....that equals an entire week that I can not remember and from what I hear it WAS NOT A GOOD ONE. My doctor told me to stop taking the Viibryd and that is when the H*ll started. I am lucky I lived through it.

I have been on the new starter pack since mid November. I have been nervous to start on the 40 mg dosage and just took my first 40 mg today. My biggest problem has been worrying about hair loss. So far I have not noticed anything. How long did those of you with hair loss go before you started noticing? Was it at the 10, 20, 40mg mark? I am not even sure this drug is working for me to tell you the truth. I do notice I am irritable and agitated a lot. But I have always really been that way, thanks to GAD and depression. My anxiety is still at a constant high and I sometimes take up to 3 mg xanax a day, sometimes 1 mg 3 times a day, sometimes 1.5 two times a day. I just don't know what to do anymore. I have seen therapists, psychiatrists, fam practice docs. Have been on Lexapro, Prozac, Cymbalta, Wellbutrin, Paxil, Pristiq, who knows what else. I can't find anything to make me feel better. I am starting to think that I am just a lost cause and maybe this is just how I really am, and no medicine can change it. I want to feel happy with my life, as I know logically that I have a lot to be grateful for and a lot to enjoy. But I wish that someone could make me understand how to live that logic.

Maybe it (hair loss) won't happen to you. It does not
happen to everybody. If you are getting any good out of it at all, maybe you should give it a good try? I don't know---I'm no expert.....just can relate to all your attempts to feel better. I too have been on just about everything out there----no results with some.
Some (a little) help with others, but all with disgusting
side effects and the "kick in the butt" syndrome where
they just stop being effective for no reason. I've heard
that other people feel the same way. I just don't think
Pharma has found the answer-----just the quickest, easiest thing to get to market to make the big money
over and over again. All I have is an undergrad degree in a stupid field, but it's pretty obvious to me that the answer to mood disorders lies somewhere in hormones, but I bet it would take too long to figure that out----maybe our kids will have better treatments. but, I doubt it-----after all, depressed people don't kick up much dust.

Went to a new Dr. yesterday. Pretty much what was expected. I went through hyper serotonin syndrome. Still very weak but I am now completely off the Viibryd and have not had any migraines or horrible all over body pains etc like I was having. My problem was the Viibryd gave me migraines then I took migraine meds and it started a very horrible reaction. Like I said, lucky to be here today.

Did your doctor say the body pains were from the
serotonin syndrome? I am just now beginning to feel
better after months of severe body pain. I am scheduled to see a Rheumatologist. I was wondering about that body pain stuff. Does anybody know anything else about the all over pain from Viibryd?
See, all the time I was taking Viibryd, I was also taking Tramadol for pain that I've had for years. I bet I had
serotonin syn and didn't know it. I've been off Viibryd
totally for one month today. Just yesterday, I noticed that I don't hurt quite as much. Not taking as much Tylenol either. I just didn't understand what serotonin
syndrome was---and of course my pdoc didn't say anything b/c he never should have let me take Tramadol and Viibryd together. (Found that out after
researching websites)

your probably right about the hormone thing. You have to remember severe depression will screw up your hormones, so really untill depression runs its course your whole system is f***ed. Its not something someone can tell you to snap out of. If you make it through you r just that much stronger of a person. Vybryd helped me. So really if it makes you hair fall out or feel cripled all i can say is try something else, Dont screw it up for those who it helps. I tried every thing else out and none of it worked. Im taking it, and have had no bad effects. Dosent lessen my drive for sex, no hair loss, no arthritis, etc. Been on it for about 6months at 40 ml. I feel like a normal person for the 1rst time in years. Have to say I cant give all the credit to vibryd , In combination with Remeron its the trick combo for me. and the remeron didnt make me gain 40lbs cause I didnt eat crap food. Everybodys different. Maybe its not the vibryd causing all the adverse reaction rather the depression itself. Ofcourse on the other hand Maybe it is. I dont think Drs. really know for sure either because the brain is just one of the least understood organs in the body. One thing I think is, every person on this frickken Earth will be severly depressed at one point in their lives and thats just the s***s, Its just life period.D ont puss out and end it and put your loved ones through the same crap cause it gets better eventually. Especially if you have kids...........................

Yes The Tramadol and Viibryd I was taking together plus the migraine meds I took was causing the all over body pains and the serotonin sydrome. Once I stopped the Viibryd the pain has stopped also. I have read that tramadol and Viibryd has been linked to serotonin sydrome without the migraine meds. I am still stiff but the pain has stopped. I am going in for a follow up in 4 weeks. I switched to a different pain med that does not interfere with serotonin.

Thanks for sharing that with me.
Now it's all starting to make sense. I have to have some form of pain med for chronic pain, but I don't want to
go to the "bigger" stuff like vicodin or anything like that.
I need to get to a good doctor.
Thanks again.

I went from wellbutrin xl 300 to viibryd 5 to 10 to 20. Told Dr. "not sure if under-medicated,over-medicated-or wrongly medicated". I believe u may b overmedicated. I've gone on for over 2 months unmotivated & "numb" on 20 mg viibryd. Yest & today I decreased to 10 mg viibryd. Today I also added 150 mg of wellbutrin xl. (big diff today). Took Lexapro before Wellbutrin w/o neg effects. I don't think Viibryd is good.(never good to feel like u do). This is my 1st post ever.

I have been on Viibryd since Nov 1 2011 and I am feeling so much better. I am motivated again, I am not affected by SAD as much, my libido is coming back, and I have not experienced any hair loss (knock on wood).

My husband even commented that since being on Viibryd I am acting like my old self again - the person he fell in love with.

I know there have been a lot of people having adverse reactions/side effects on this medicine (I had my share of ugly side effects at first as well), but now that I am stable this drug has given me a new lease on life. I did not realize how depressed and screwed up I was before taking Viibryd.

It took me about 6 weeks to get over most of the anxiety I was feeling at first, but the difficulties were well worth it.

This drug has changed my life!

Maybe so, but the problem lies with taking this drug and combining it with migraine meds or tramadol. Taking this drug alone is a whole different ballgame. Although I have seen many reports of hair loss and other pretty serious problems on here. It just depends just like any other drug on the individual and their circumstances. Some people may not react the way I did but if they do, I felt I should tell my story.

I wish that the drug reps would spend more time educating their doctor clients about this drug and the
ones that should not be mixed with it.
We (the patients) are the ones who suffer and we don't even get free lunches, trips, concert tickets or any of the other goodies.

I have been taking the sample pack of the 30 day supply and am on day 21 (up to 40mg). I believe there are positive and negatives to this medicine.

I was taking lexapro before this and reduced my dose to zero a month before i started viibryd. I was extremely snappy and angry.

My doctor suggested I try this, without explaining what exactly this medication does. So, I did what you are doing now (research). The first week was fine, I had little to no side effects, when I jumped to 20 mg and i drank 5 beers with viibryd is when it got scary. I was seriously suicidal (hence the directions, do NOT drink with alcohol) lesson learned. I also had to watch taking ibuprofin (which is also in the interactions page). Anyhow so after I followed directions and read everything I am up to 40 mg.
My first night on 40 mg was fine other than almost no sleep at all. I did have in depth dreams but nothing scary that I have read in other posts. It seems the more time I allow my body to get used to the medication the better it gets. I feel extremely energetic, i smile, laugh, and have quit drinking (due to the really scary night). I dont have any GI issues, no headache, I am very calm and neutral. I feel this medication was actually built for me! I feel great. The only issue im working through is the lack of sleep. I am taking a generic unisom, I hope this is safe??? Any suggestions please respond!
