Viibryd Reviews (Page 50) (Top voted first)
UpdatedGoing to start it tomorrow. Anyone else taking it, and if so, how do you like it?
Thanks!
Hi I just started the starter pack and in my third day was taking lexapro and it was not working that well . Stomach a little upset and maybe notice feeling a bit better . How long has it taken for any good results thanks
If I didn't take it at the same time every day I would first yawn a lot and if I still didn't take it I would easily be angered.
Just started Viibryd 3rd day and feeling better....lamectal down to 100...and yes Xanax helps me sleep and lorazepam I take as needed daytime ( Xanax makes me too groggy to drive)
I pace a lot ...thinking Viibryd is starting to slightly alter that...started on 10 for 5 days 20 after that. Has anyone felt good at 10 and didn’t have to go to 20?
I've been on viibryd for 6 years. I feel as though it's no longer working. Get brain zaps, more depressed, anxiety, etc.
What are WD symptoms going from 40 to 20?
Started taking it on 07-13. Coming off of Effexor and Lexapro.
Will do! Am very hopeful as well. Lot of anxiety during the transition, but I think that's the Effexor getting out of my system.
I took my first dose last night with food and woke up at 4am sick to my stomach and hungry. I hate to eat a bowl of cereal and it was hard to get back to sleep. I hope this side effect stops soon. I was really hungry today, but I've been trying to eat light, just several small meals throughout the day, but my stomach is growling constantly. Also tired, with a tension headache. I thought I would try taking this with my Welbutrin since welbutrin isn't a maoi but an ssri....anyone else doing this? Maybe it's too much together?
Mc....Definately about the xanax....But the xanax is something I really have to have to function driving from home to work...ect... and at work just in general! The Viibryd may be the cause of more anxiety, will definately find out when I go to 40mg if it is just stuff or the med. But I do like the med so far. And until I read what GAD was Tiger, I had know idea that I guess they just haven't diagnosed me with that, but I definately have the symtoms. My kids have always just called me negative for worrying or thinking something bad in certain situations..ect...Wow, an eye opener!! Actually I do, do some of the things that are suppose to help the symtoms, just because I need to...but WOW...I didn't know there was a name for it!!
When i went off wellbutrin i had horrible body aches for about a week or two and then they went away...i hope it goes away for you too :) youre body coming down off of norepinephrine will cause you to experience pain differently.
I am on day 3 of 40mg so far. Started at 10mg a couple weeks ago. I have to admit that one of my biggest fears regarding the side effects is weight gain. Any personal experiences with weight gain/loss/stability on Viibryd?
Thanks!
Hey Dani. The stomach problems get better with time. I felt a little dizzy when I went from 20Mg to 40Mg so I went back to 20Mg and it's working fine now. I also take Abilify. Hang in there.
I have been on Viibryd for nearly 3 months and have obtained clinical mood improvement at 20mg. Welbutrin allowed me to lose 10 pounds, but I discontinued it Welbutrin due to insomnia and hand tremor (I am a surgeon). Zoloft reduced these two side effects, but gave me anorgasmia. With Viibryd, I can sleep well, have no tremor and no sexual side effects. I still have diarrhea. Most troubling though is craving for sweets; I have gained 16 pounds in 8 weeks. Still looking for a better solution. I may add a low dose of Welbutrin to reduce appetite. Anyone else have weight gain? Suggestions?

I WILL BE DEPRESSED AGAIN.
WHAT TO DO?
your probably right about the hormone thing. You have to remember severe depression will screw up your hormones, so really untill depression runs its course your whole system is f***ed. Its not something someone can tell you to snap out of. If you make it through you r just that much stronger of a person. Vybryd helped me. So really if it makes you hair fall out or feel cripled all i can say is try something else, Dont screw it up for those who it helps. I tried every thing else out and none of it worked. Im taking it, and have had no bad effects. Dosent lessen my drive for sex, no hair loss, no arthritis, etc. Been on it for about 6months at 40 ml. I feel like a normal person for the 1rst time in years. Have to say I cant give all the credit to vibryd , In combination with Remeron its the trick combo for me. and the remeron didnt make me gain 40lbs cause I didnt eat crap food. Everybodys different. Maybe its not the vibryd causing all the adverse reaction rather the depression itself. Ofcourse on the other hand Maybe it is. I dont think Drs. really know for sure either because the brain is just one of the least understood organs in the body. One thing I think is, every person on this frickken Earth will be severly depressed at one point in their lives and thats just the s***s, Its just life period.D ont puss out and end it and put your loved ones through the same crap cause it gets better eventually. Especially if you have kids...........................
Yes The Tramadol and Viibryd I was taking together plus the migraine meds I took was causing the all over body pains and the serotonin sydrome. Once I stopped the Viibryd the pain has stopped also. I have read that tramadol and Viibryd has been linked to serotonin sydrome without the migraine meds. I am still stiff but the pain has stopped. I am going in for a follow up in 4 weeks. I switched to a different pain med that does not interfere with serotonin.
I am a psychiatrist and I am laughing my head off after reading your review. I know I know I should not laugh but you have painted such a picture what patients go through, what they do and how they discuss things behind our backs. I am learning more about this drug by reading these reviews.
I have gone off this med cold turkey which I know is bad but I seemed fine at first. The medicine did help with my depression and bipolar. I stopped taking it because I didn't think I'd need it with my mood stabilizer. Then after a couple weeks I started feeling super depressed and all I wanted to do was lay in bed and do nothing which is not normal for me at all. So I went back on it for 9 days. I was still irritable and not sleeping so I stopped taking it again. I still feel unmotivated so I am not certain what is going on. I am bipolar II so I am definitely not stable right now. I called my pharmacist and he said that anti-depressants can give you insomnia. I am going to try to take something else out there because I haven't had one give me insomnia like this. I realize that I should've weaned off this med with a doctor's care but I have the worst doctor ever and he was not supportive of anything I did. I still feel depressed anyways, so why take it? I did not have the hair loss some have mentioned. I am not having as much muscle and joint pain. Now I'm not sure what may or may not be withdrawal symptoms. I've read about some that said it was a difficult drug to get off of. I hope it's not going to be a nightmare for me.
Oops - I meant to add that I'll know for sure it was a viibryd side effect if the joint pain goes away. What a shame - it's the only Rx that seemed to help my Major Depression.
Been on Viibryd (40 mg after starter pack), in month 4, as an adjunct to Lamictal (300mg) for bipolar & ptsd.
I, too, am having sleep probs where I can be exhausted but just lay awake for hours or in a weird 'half-sleep' where I'm still aware of my surroundings and noises, etc.
As for bad dreams, I've had them for 19 yrs so doubt they're from Viibryd....
The worst thing, however, is the severe joint pain (so glad to see I'm not alone!). It's in my elbows and shoulders (one side worse than the other) and pain radiates down arms--very much like carpal/tennis elbow. Lately it's gotten so bad that even trying to lift my left arm is excruciating--forget picking anything up or even putting on my seat belt in the car.... My skin around the joints is so sore, sometimes just the feel of a shirt is irritating. This is NOT good.
After reading how some have gone back to 20mg, I'm going to consult with my dr and attempt the same.
The good part of the drug was that it does lift my energy level at times (not always). I'm a bit less depressed though the teariness, negativity, irritability and immobilization is also still present (had just come off Effexor XR after 12 yrs so was a basket case again...).
Anyway, I'll be checking in on here to see others' continuing experiences; thanks for sharing them! :)
Viibryd really shouldn't be prescribed for people with bipolar disorder. I was on Celexa for two years. Added Wellbutrin , was on it for 2 weeks and felt like I could crawl out of my skin. Ditched that, and the Celexa was making me two fatigued and drowzy. So I ditched that too for Viibryd. Upon my rapid transition from 40mg of Celexa to 40mg of Viibryd, I actually went into a hypomanic episode for 3 days at just 10mg. It dropped off and I had an mild depressive episode. It was the first time my mood actual cycled like that in my life so rapidly. After I moved up to the 20mg of, I started feeling a little confused and hazy and not really remembering the conversations I was having or where i was for seconds at a time. It sounds really scary, but it's not as frightening as it sounds. I'm now taking 40mg, and I'm proof that a med with a rough startup can be super effective. The only side effect I have is some occasional diarrhea here and there, but nothing serious. Despite the fact that Viibryd is a 5HT1A receptor partial agonist which should deliver an anxiolytic effect, its pretty stimulating at 40mg.
