Going to start it tomorrow. Anyone else taking it, and if so, how do you like it?
Thanks!
one thing to keep an eye on is whether you're gaining weight or just bloating. On Viibryd there are somedays i can't fit in my pants but a week later they fit. i don't know. doesn't make sense.
These "brain zaps" are what i usually feel as part of withdrawal, but they are pretty common with viibryd. couple things i noticed. When you take it you usually feel the "brain zaps" within the 4 hours after you take it. That's how long it takes each dose to reach peak levels in the blood stream give or take a few depending on your meal size and makeup. In my experience. If I don't feel the brain zaps thats my cue that my meal wasn't big enough because its not all getting in my system. I'm sure as the brain zaps become less and less common as your body adjusts to it they aren't such good guidelines but i think we all can agree that they are the result of an SSRI increase, not a decrease.
Into week 5. After the trial pack of 10mg week 1, and now week 4 of 20mg I feel good. Still have stomach issues and diariah every other day. Worst time was first 3 days on starting and then first 2 days on 20mg. Didn't suffer any "brain zaps" or pain. Eyesight has deteriorated and a sweets craving which is unusual.
That said I think I shall stay at 20mg not cured but happy.
I don't care too muchfor having to go off of my celexa before I can take the viibryd. I causes terrible side effects for me suxh as uncontrolable cry, racing thoughts, increased aniety ans also the side effect the mention such as diarhea, upset stomach. I am sure this is a great medication, however I would discuss possible side effects with you dr so maybe he can help get you through the transition period. Because this for me has been super tough.
I also have to mention that after being on it about a week I started taking it at night and that greatly reduced the sugar/food cravings. I wanted to eat and eat and eat I just never felt fulfilled. That stopped once I started taking it at night. Still the brain zaps aren't worth staying on it.
prayers for Cookie and Linda too
I felt the same way it was maybe for me I miss the daily feel good feelings I got in the morning but when it turned to blurred vision headache everday, hostile agressive, not like me wearned off it was worse for me than any other hopefully wont be for you, good luck thoughts and prayers that we all find the right combination peace and love and light I weaned myself off it got thru it so there is light hun at the end of the tunnel dont give up :)
good luck at your appt today dawnig much love
I weaned off Pristiq after being on it for almost 3 years. I did that while I started taking Viibryd. I had absolutely no withdrawl symtoms. I just moved up to the 40 mg of Viibryd on Mar 12th and by Saturday night I had my first episode of major brain zaps. Absolutely scared the crap out of me. It started just as I was falling asleep. My body was twitching and it felt like I kept snapping my head back. For me, I believe there is no way that could possibly be a good thing. I see my med dr on the 21st and I'm telling him that I'm going to wean off of it. The good that this med could possibly be for me is totally not worth the brain zaps. I've been on tons of meds and I have never ever experienced that before especially while titrating the dose up instead of down. I will just stick with Welbutrin XL 300 mg a day. Way, way too scary for me. I was very relieved to see that others had experienced this also...I thought I was going to be admitted to the mental hospital because it was such a strange and scary thing that was happening within my brain and body. Good luck to the rest of you.
Y'know, guess I'm finally realizing there ARE other side effects and it's exacerbated now that I'm coming off. In addition to being an absolutely miserable, rude, irrational and near-violent person the past few months (my husband confirmed the timeline--since I can't remember anymore), I've been feeling pretty suicidal and hopeless for at least the past week--and had tapered down from 10mg to 5mg to zero in the past two weeks. Never did think to mention it.... I do have an appt with the Dr. tomorrow.
dawnzig. Same with me, only the pain is on my right. Some days the pain subsides and when I think that all is getting better, it flares up again. I found out that pulling something is not good for that arm. I am glad that I seem not to have any other withdrawal symptoms...so far.
Still wearing the tennis elbow brace. I don't know if it helps. I just want to speed up up the healing.
Thanks for the feedback amyison. Glad that some of your side effects are going away.
I'll have to ask my Dr about Lexipro and see what she says; I'm not familiar with it.
As for my Vii withdrawal, I've yet to tell whether the ultra-vivid dreams are gone since I mostly feel like I'm not sleeping! :)
My pain is still pretty bad, too. Mine's on my left side: shoulder and elbow, like intense carpal. Today I can't even lift the arm it's so painful (even typing hurts). Other days it's not so bad. Am really looking forward to being able to use my arm again normally as I need to get back to weight training but can't life weights (or anything) right now.
I, too, hope we all have successful journeys finding the right combos for ourselves. :)
hi Dawnzig, hope things are better day by day mine seem to get better is Lexapro an option for you?It worked really well for me in the past I just kinda stick to Prozac since Ive taken it for so long Im getting scared of trying new things Lexapro was good for my depression and anxiety, but my panic is so bad still gotta have klonapin for it,Lexapro is something that has worked really good for my son whos 21 and my daughter 23 just a suggestion to find the right combination in my 40s now and since my early 20s on a mission with different docs diff meds I feel for everyone and pray we all find the right combination take care Amy :)
good to hear some of the symptoms are going away,I still have the aches and joint pain especially on my right side?my legs and knees are the worst my cravings finally went away, and the vivid scarey nightmares,I also t take lamectial just 200 mg and klonapan for anxiety, good you are feeling somewhat better best of luck to you and everyone just wasnt the drug for me take care
No real withdrawal symptoms that I've noticed. In fact, once down to 10mg, the ridiculous late-night sweet cravings went away.
I'm down to 5mg and memory loss, blurred vision and joint pain still the same.
Am still having trouble getting to sleep and feeling like I actual *am* sleeping. Since starting Vii, I lay there for hours, aware of sounds and movement around me, feeling like I'm awake, but my husband said I'd be snoring--so it was some kind of sleep, just not restful.
I still get residual bursts of energy which I actually hope *don't* go away b/c I've gotten some things done around the house!
I feel a bit calmer and less teary, tho that could just be general mood stuff, not the result of getting off Vii.
Btw, I'm also on Lamictal 400mg. So my results will likely be different than people on other combinations or taking it by itself.
What withdrawal symptoms are you having?
Don't think I could take Prozac again--didn't work that well for me + I gained a ton of weight on it and had a horrific detox.... Wish there were more options that didn't cause weight gain. Been dealing with the 'process' for 20 yrs and it's getting really old, sigh. Thanks, amyison. :)
hopefully things will get better,Im back off Viibryd now and back on Prozac which has worked for me for years, best of luck to you,the withdrawls are finally almost past for me totally you will et thru it its just a process a hard one take care good luck Amy
I'm weaning off now, too. Had enough of the pain, near-violent outbursts, ridiculous memory loss, blurry vision and diarrhea.
Sad, b/c it really helped with energy. Am not looking forward to going thru the side effects with some other drug now, sigh....
thanks Is not anyones fault just wondering now doctor is adding Ability,to my 80mg prozac 200 mg of lamectial and the clonapin ? anyone know how this will work, thanks Amy
