Going to start it tomorrow. Anyone else taking it, and if so, how do you like it?
Thanks!
That is great greyterv !!!!!! I just posted, but it had to be reviewed...lol!! I love this med too as you will see when it post!! Glad someone had a positive word for 5Kids4Me! And I am glad to hear about you too!!! I also am one that loves this med!!! Has totally changed my life!!!
Hi 5Kids4Me ,
Slooooowwww down...lol..you are on a forum where as most people that have had good things happen wouldn't be...just remember that. Most forums are more full of good than bad because the people with no problems have no reason to be upset...lol!! There are some on here and other forums with great results.
OK..I am one of the ones that love this med!!!!! It has changed my life!!!!!! Now...I am not going to tell you that there are no side effects, cause there usually is with most drugs. I had a few and if you have read through here, you know my story well!! A guy I work with takes it and can't tell one way or the other and never had any side effects at all!! It is different for every person that takes it.
Don't get scared... just do what the doc says! Keep an open mind and think positive.
Hope it works out well for you!!! Keep us posted!!!
Hello Mom of 5- My rx doc is excellent @ using combinations of drugs to help me. Been on Viibryd 9 months no problems, was suicidal, severely depressed and anxious. Also on Lamotrigine cuz there were low spots the Vii didn't level, this worked. On Ativan for anxiety and Doxepin gives me 7 hrs sleep where as I had tried so many sleeping meds non worked in any dose. I've had no side effects from anything and now can continue with my Therapist without being a basket case that was hard to treat being so depressed. Good Luck.
Hi. I am getting ready to start VIIBRYD & will be weaning off of Pristiq at the same time.. Dr. promised me that there is no issue w/weight gain or insomnia but reading through the board- it seems to be a common issue... I need to loose 50# & I suffer horrible insomnia- I can not afford to have either of those side effects...So needless to say,I am scared to try this med... :S
My 2 questions are 1) When do you find is the best time to take the pill? I was taking my Pristiq before bed nightly. But I see that some people need to eat with theirs..
2) What are "Brain Zaps"?
I am having issues with being aggitated, depressed, angry etc... I really hope this med helps me..My dr. said a ton of his patients are having a good response to it & it works good as a all purpose med... <
Thank You!
I took the sample pack for 25 days - ended on the 40 mg dose. It seemed to help me, but I had the crazy dreams, and I had a really hard time waking up in the morning and felt really tired all the time. I also take clonazapem. Between the sleepiness and the cost of the medication, I asked to be switched to something else.
I use to take Viibryd and it worked amazingly for me but due to everything in my life at the time my doc kept giving me other meds to go with it so it wasnt working anymore. I am now off all meds and have restarted the Viibryd and Im on day 2 of the 10 mg. I no longer have the other issues going on in my life so Im really thinking this is gonna work. You have to eat at least 300 calories or it will not work is what they say. Im not sure about that but I do eat with my pill just to be safe.
UPDATE: I took my last dose (10mg) of Viibryd on Saturday night. I've had no withdrawl symptoms UNTIL this morning. Completely exhausted. I feel very loopy, weak and achy. This sucks...but I hope it will soon pass. If not, I will cut the 10 mg in half for just a few days and then stop. I'm still taking Welbutrin 300 XL. I thought I was in the clear from withdrawl since I was fine for a few days. Will post another update soon. Wish me luck. I feel like I could just sleep for hours and hours.
The first thing is I would talk to your doc that prescribed it and maybe he can keep you with samples till your insurance kicks back in. Also sometimes you can get them from the manufacturers website or just searching on the web.
Can anyone suggest where I can get a coupon or Viibryd? Losing insurance for 3 months.
I have been on Viibryd for a little over a month. My pdoc started me on two starter packs (two weeks at 10mg, two weeks at 20mg) and then I picked up an Rx for 20mg to take until I see him next. He had me schedule a sleep study in the mean time to see if that helps with some of the symptoms that I've had. It's important to point out that I'm BP I but I react to meds in a really odd way. I'm on 300mg Lamictal, 1mg Xanax, 20mg Viibryd and 70mg Vyvanse. I also take Tramadol for back problems after a botched epidural.
In the month of taking the new med I have had a drastic increase in pain with my back and feet. I even went to the pain doctor but he said that everything looks the same on his end and offered to send me to a different specialist. Then I had a couple of days where I couldn't sleep at all (sleep specialist had me taking Vyvanse at 6am so that I could be sleepy by 10pm when I take Ambien CR). I decided to divorce my husband and move across the country to a state where I don't know anyone. Obviously my husband recognized this as something wrong and I stopped taking Vyvanse right away. I slept for 14 hours and have gone back to sleeping too much and feeling lethargic (which is WHY I was on an antidepressant in the first place!)
I understand that most people don't "play" with their meds as much as I do but after many years with the same pdoc we have a system in place and I know which medications I can stop immediately if there is a problem. Xanax if I'm too low, ADD meds (they've changed a lot) if I'm too high.
Regardless, I have noticed hair loss (at first I thought it was because I was so sick to my stomach that I hadn't washed my hair in a few days) but it is pretty drastic. I have long hair that is really thick and curly. I've lost enough that I can wear my hair down and it doesn't look like a giant afro. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I still have the nausea and various GI problems after 35 days and between the increased pain (which I didn't realize was attributed to the Viibryd) and the nausea I have been far less active. I worried that I was experiencing agoraphobia again because I have avoided going shopping and ordered a pizza for my anniversary dinner. If I weren't so inactive, Viibryd would be a FANTASTIC diet pill but I don't think it's doing anything for me.
I've put in a call to the pdoc and we'll see what he recommends.
hi can you give me a good way to use tea tree oil and lvender oil
I understand you do have this rush of good feeling in the morning. But just like anything medication it probably isn't for everybody. And the good doesn't always way out the bad. I am trying to give it more time.
dawnzig your welcome sweetie,Im feeling lots and lots better off the Viibryd,I miss that morning rush of feel good feeling for me,but I dont miss the cravings, and pain still have alot of pain in my hip and leg back on track with Prozac klonapin and lamectial, maybe the reason well one of the reasons thinking back and reading more about Viibryd people with Bi Polar like myself shouldnt be on it,maybe thats where my anger mood swings, agressiveness came from? Im not sure, not to discourage anyone that its working for thats great, just wasnt right for me,lots of love to all Amy
I have been on Viibryd for 6 weeks now. I have been feeling better and better, since I started with 40mg daily.
I have a good breakfast and then I pass it with a yogurt. The only thing I don´t like is my appetite is going out of control and I have started to gain some weight. But I have a completely differeny attitude toward life. I tried with sertraline about a year ago, had it for 9 months and didn¨t feel any better.
I don´t know why you people keep saying bad things abiut Viibryd. It is a ver good medicine, it has saved me from a sad life.
thats not good because my psch was confident it would not cause weight gain and was as close to Cymbalta as I could get. I liked how I did not get enraged or agitated as easily on Cymbalata. I also was surprised weight gain started 6 months after I started with it, when I moved from 60mg to 30mg.
Moving back to 30 did not help. now after almost 3 weeks on Viibryd, still struggling with fat all in belly..and only moderate at best support with agitation and anxiety.
I am not overrly convinsed about the viibryd. Just got bumped up to 40mg and have been on it now for 3 weeks. I feel agitated...have gained 10 pounds and when I complained to my Dr he just wants to put me back on Celexa that wasn't working. Maybe time for a new Dr before everyone in my house runs away. I don't have these side effects with the serequel I have been taking...but why do they insist to stick with it thinking its so wonderful? Have they tried it?
not seeing much in the way of anxiety results after 2 weeks. switched from Cymbalta because of weight gain. Cymbalta worked very well for me as far as anxiety and getting ruffled by minutia.
My update: went to my dr and told him about the "brain zaps" he thought it was the last of the Pristiq getting out of my system. He convinced me to stay at 30 mg ( he gave me a packet of 10mg and 20 mg) and within days I noticed that my forgetfulness was scaring me and then I was having huge water retention. So....I called him back and say this is the end of the Viibryd trial. I'm suppose to titrate down to 20mg for 5 days and then 10mg for 7 days and then just stop. Also my blood pressure has been really low. I'll just stick with my 300 mg of Welbutrin for a while. I'll keep you posted. I'm on day 3 of 20 mg. Only 9 more days till I'm done.
Thanks for the update, Linda. I hope your pain goes away completely, too--will give me something to look forward to. :)
Hi everyone. Off of Vii for about six weeks. Elbow is still sore, but getting better. I hope it goes away completely.
