What does the v on the one side of the pill mean. People say it's like real vicoden. What is its meaing? ## Hello, Brad! How are you? If you're referring to a stylized V that is pressed into one side of the tablet, that is a simply a logo that was used by Vintage Pharmaceuticals, which is now owned by Qualitest. It means nothing in relation to what's in the pill, though many have misunderstoof and thought it meant it was Vicodin. However, this manufacturer makes many different pharmaceutical medications and most of them are not Vicodin, or its generics. The FDA classifies Vicodin as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are there any numbers on the table...

Ok so, a few years back I was on vicodin. They prescribed me suboxone. And after a yr of that I didn't get to the doctor in time and they switched doctors and it was just a hot mess. So I withdrew off of it. And I was not working at the time. It was seriously the worst 3 weeks of my life. So now fast forward to 3 months ago. I hurt my back playing volley ball, my brother offered me one of his vicodin. I thought since I had been off of it, it would be fine. And it was. But every month or so, I'd ask him for one. That was ok in my mind. But then every month turned into every week.. every week turned into every other couple of days... and now for maybe 2 months now I've been on vicodin 5 to 6 times a day. And I want to detox. Now my brother only has dilaudid. So he said he will...

I wondered how employers handle a situation of when an employee fails a drug test if that employee has a legal script for it? Should I tell my employer up front I take prescription painkillers for chronic pain when I'm off the clock and would never take them during work? I don't want to be dishonest.

I see a back doctor for a slipped disk. I have a surgery scheduled for next month. For the last three months I've gone in to see him to have my Vicodin 7.5's refilled. The pain has gotten so bad I've taken more than the daily dose lately. I know it's a bad thing to do but the pain is incredible. I go to get my next refill next Monday and if he does the mouth swab test again, I will show no Vicodin in my system. My question is: I have an MS Contin 30mg that I could take the night before the appointment. Will this satisfy the mouth swab test, or will he be able to tell it's morphine?

Would it cause you to get a rash on your back? ## Hello, Sam! How are you? The FDA classifies Vicodin as a narcotic analgesic, so it can cause a rash as an allergic reaction. Is the rash also itchy? Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. It also carries the risk of being habit forming.

I have been taking Norco (Vicodin or whatever) 5/325 for at least 8 or 9 years now. I have a lot if back pain. And of course they also help me with depression. When I first started I would take 1 a day just a few days a week. Eventually I started taking 1 every day. I hated my job and it helped me get through the day. Within a year I was taking 2 at a time once a day. I've always had problems with depression. Especially when I have a lot at one time to be depressed and worried about. I take Clonezepam for anxiety and restless leg syndrome, and also Cymbalta for depression. A few monthes ago, I started taking Adderall. I also take a lot of meds for Diabetes and high cholesterol. I used to drink vodka a lot, but I've gotten where I can't drink any alcohol because it makes me s...

I CALLED DOCTOR AND HE SAID THE SAME THING! I WANT TO KNOW IF I AM CRAZY FOR GETTING ALLERGIC REACTION TO HYDROCO AND WHY? ALSO THERE HAS TO BE A REASON WHY PERSCRIPTIONS HAVE EXCLUDED VICODIN? DR. OFFICE JUST CALLED ME BACK AND SAID, PLEASE WAIT FOUR DAYS UNTIL THE PHARMACY CAN RECEIVE VIDODIN. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME! ## Hello, Robin! How are you? Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen are the active ingredients in Vicodin, so they are the same thing, you were just given a generic. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side eff...

Sixty five and just got the mandatory Medicare but also have a PPO since March. My previous plan, an HMO would only provide me with 40 Vicodin a month for my daily back pain which includes scoliosis, spurs, two very degenerated discs, annular tear, sciatica and some other issues if can't even remember. I've had the epidural several times with minor relief, PT, neurontin, tramadol (does zip). After the big conspiracy by the FDA was enacted in Nov, I was cut off with no referral. I know that some people abuse their pain meds, but 40 a month? Come on. They even cut my friend off that has severe MS all because of this FDA thing. I was still hurting rationing 40 pills a month. My primary told me that Americans are too dependent on pain meds. She said that in her country of Paraguay p...

Every time I take a yellow Vicodin vs a white one I feel like I'm having a slight allergic reactions. I was just wondering what kind of dye was used so I could stay away from it ## @Jp1, According to the US National Institute of Health, the dye that was used on the yellow "V 36 01" generic (10/325) Vicodin tab by Qualitest is listed as: D & C Yellow #10 lake. In addition to that, it also reportedly contains the following set of binders and fillers: colloidal silicon dioxide + croscarmellose sodium + crospovidone + magnesium stearate + microcrystalline cellulose + povidone + pregelatinized corn starch + stearic acid Was this the yellow Vicodin you were referring to? If not, can you please post back with a pill imprint to narrow it down to a specific tablet? ## Yes thank y...

This tablet is manufactured by Vintage Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so yes, it is a generic for Vicodin, Norco or Lortab. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How can I the generic Vicodin. I want my RX to state "generic for Vicodin" It used to say, Hydrocodone/Apap 5/500. Now when I get my refills it says Hydroco/Apap generic for Norco? Told they are the same so why do I need to take the Norvo in larger doses (2 pills each time) to get the same relief from one generic Vicodin? There must be something my Dr is writing on the prescription that causes this to occur. Thank you for your help ## Hello, Grandma52! How are you? Vicodin actually contained more Acetaminophen than the Norco does, it was available with amounts including 500mgs and over. However, last year, all of the tablets with the higher doses of it were removed from the market. Thus, Vicodin and its generics are no longer available. The maximum dose of Acetaminophen availabl...

I have had a problem with opiates going back to 2006 starting with vicodin following shoulder surgery. My usage progressed to Percocet, fentanyl, OxyContin, suboxone - clean for 2.5 years, relapse on tramadol, back on suboxone for 2 years, jumped at 2mgs and now weening with kratom. To say it has been a journey is an understatement. I am not naive enough to think that using kratom means I'm "clean" from opiates. It is filling my receptors just like the rest an it's time for me to stop. I've been actively trying to stay clean for about a year now. I no longer chase the high, I just run from WDs. I've gone through them more times to count and only once pulled through and stayed clean for longer than a week or 2. I actually was clean for almost 3 years following my ...

My husband has been on vicodin 500 for a couple of years, We switch from Walgreen to Walmart, And pick up his meds he took his pain pill and has a bad head ache and fills like he vibrating out of his body. We noticed the name on the bottle is, HYDROCOD/ACETA 5-325 Could this be makeing him have such a bad head ache and the weird vibrating. He also takes lorazepam and Naprosyn ## Hello, Linda! How are you and your husband? If he received a different generic from Wal-Mart, there is a chance that it could be a little stronger than one he was used to taking, which might be causing such symptoms. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation....

I just have a bad headache is it good for headache ## Hello, Connie! How are you? This is not a Vicodin tablet. This tablet is manufactured by Mikart Inc. and they list it as containing 325mgs of Acetaminophen, 50mgs of Butalbital and 40mgs of Caffeine. It is a barbiturate that is most commonly used to treat or prevent migraines. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, somnolence and nervousness. However, if you have a bad headache and don't usually get them, you need to have it checked out by your doctor and should only take this medication, if it has been prescribed for you. Is there anything else I can help with?

I went to the doctor on May 1st. He took a urine test and prescribed me 60 to 90 mg of oxy. The day before I went to the doctor I took a 20 mg tablet of oxy time-release. I also took 1 vicodin 2 days before my appointment. I have to go back to the doctor as he wants to go over my urine test. Do you think I got a bad test back?

How are you? No, there are no yellow, triangular shaped Vicodin. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Without an imprint, it's hard to guess what it the tablet might contain, but I'll keep looking and post back, when I have information for you. Does anyone else recognize this tablet?

I have a pink oval pill made from Watson do you know the name its a pain pill ## Hello, Elizabeth! How are you? What are the markings on the tablet? There is no M 385 tablet and the one with WATSON 385 on it is white, so is the one with M 358 on it. They are both listed as generics for Vicodin that contain 500mgs of Acetaminophen and 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I take 10 mg hydrocodone daily. I binge drank Saturday night and have been sick in bed with a tremendous hangover for 3 days. Anyone else experienced this? ## Well, mixing alcohol with prescription drugs is NEVER a good idea, it can enhance the side effects and cause exactly what you're experiencing, especially with a narcotic such as Hydrocodone. It is possibly it's been caused by something else, but highly doubtful. Have you tried consulting your doctor? ## Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone and acetaminophen (Tylenol). Some people take Vicodin and drink alcohol to intensify the effect of the hydrocodone. Unfortunately, mixing alcohol and acetaminephin WILL lead to liver damage and eventual liver failure (cirrhosis), which is often fatal. There are warnings on Tylenol or ...
