I have been a patient at compdrugs methadone clinic for 5 years. Never had dirty urines. I got 1 dirty 20 days ago and they took my dose from 185mg to 100 to nothing. 3 days. Is this legal and do I have a chance of fighting it. The doc. Dr. Alvin Pelt. is god at the clinic. Any ideas on what I can do would be welcome. Hopefully i can figure somethisg out b4 I blow my head off. Anyone out there whos gone thru a methadone withdrawal understands. Thanks all.

Not fricken much. I switched to subs. I go once a month now. Do 1 group a month. I dont get the pain management benefits from subs i got from methadone but I have a lot less stress in my life. I got my life back. The clinic doesnt own me anymore. Thats 1 option for you.

Yes you can claim, i've been on methadone for 10 years and know what's what. I won £3800 for not getting mine. If you're on a script and you are put through a forced withdrawal it's the equivalent to assault, you can claim. Listen to experience.

contact the Methadone Alliance in your state, you most definitely are not to be brought down that quickly, only if you were under contract for being dirty numerous times, which doesn't sound to be the case. file a grievance asap

Are you out of your mind buddy? Just because someone's dose is over 100mg doesn't matter. Everyone is different. And being in a program for 5 years isnt a bad thing either. I don't know what planet your from but most councilors will tell you that for however many years someone's been addicted it usually takes at least half that many in treatment. Most nurses at the clinics will also tell you that from 65mgs to about 90mgs people are high from their dose. I've been to a few clinics in my lifetime of addiction and thankfully am clean going on 6 years and never heard someone say anything so stupid as I just read in your post. I know for a fact that there are aweful clinic directors who do stuff just like what happened to this person. Actually know someone who was attacked by another client from behind and was thrown out. So I believe it when I hear stories like this 1. You are a ***** if you think no one should have a dose over 100mgs. No 2 people are the same and some people's body metabolism go through methadone quicker than others. Ever hear of a peek and trough?? Its a test to see how fast the body eats the methadone. I myself am 1 of those people who's body went thru it faster than normal. Which meant every morning I was sick. It took me until I got to 165mgs before I was finally comfortable with my dose. You have no clue what you're talking about. You probably aren't even on methadone. You sound like someones family member who hates the idea of their family member being on it.

I know this is old but they kicked me out after i had takehomes for 2 years. I was at 239. I wanna die. I went back to h for a few days then got some subs. Now I am being "medically" detoxed for taking xanax a handful of times and then biomed will let me back. I also broke my back so that's great. I am in soo much pain and 32 mgs subs a day isn't cutting it.

I've been at a methadone clinic for 15 years and they are beginning to be a joke , they do what they want they will steal your money if you are late paying your fee they will charge you $ 5 dollars late fee for every day your late , the clinic I go to is not very big we only have the capacity for about 50 ppl but we now have ver 250 they don't have enough seats for all no restrooms but they keep taking in new clients every week twice a week I need to find out who keeps all the late fees and if they can keep operating a clinic like this

I just wanted to say that my clinic will raise your dose whether you want them to or not in fact my dose was 95 at one point and they kept saying my urines were dirty if you get 2 dirty urines in a row they raise you 10mg and they test you every week on demand and like i wrote before money is the lifeblood of all institutions hence they are all corrupt.

Wow, I didn't even have to read thru your whole message Mr. Hopeful b4 i agree as one of many patients at the st joeseph methadone clinic in nyc. I can attest that some counselors relish authority money unfortunately is the lifeblood of these institutions therefore they all are corrupt. let me elborate the situation. i come in 1 week the place is packed as usual, the wait is about 50 minutes, you get a number and wait. I finally get to the window and b4 they give me my medicine, this was weds b4 thanksgiving btw, they say you have to give a supervised urine now, but i just did that 4 days ago and ive been doin it for every week for the last 8 weeks. i basically peed in front of everybody in that f***in place. im emotionally affected by this then i get upset and say no i wont do it, so i have to talk to the supervisor. fine ill wait some more even tho my husband is there too waiting to leave for work which everyone knows he works. I get upset and leave. my husband convinces me to go back. I say fine ill give the urine but the supervisor still wants to see me after. After i expose myself to someone else that works there i give it in and go back upstairs to see the sup who i find in a room with the counselor. they say explain what happened, i say i gave the urine i got some water so i could pee. see the problem is ive already done so many supervised urines i dont kno what is going on. i feel demeaned and degraded and ive been clean all this time. my counselor tells the sup that im lying and the nurse called her up personally to tell her that last weeks urine was not supervised. i said that it was. My counselor told other lies like i was absent on friday but the last urine i gave was the 18th which was friday?? So today at the window when i was getting medicated i waited until i got the nurse from last week and just asked her if she happened to remember calling up my counselor and telling her my urine was not supervised that day. of course my nurse remembers and she said outright your counselor lied to you. i never called her up. in fact i wrote your urine was supervised in my own handwriting in the log which means my counselor didn't even check, she just wanted to hurt me?? Call me a liar? Demean me? I need to and will make steps to get off this program.

I went through a similar situation a month ago and I filed a grievance complaint on my dirty urine test result.after no dirty urine's in 5 years someone made a mistake and it wasn't me.so it took about two weeks before I got my 6pack "take homes" back.I would suggest you right a grievance and explain what you think might have happened.plus my couselar also didn't think I was using either good luck

This may or may not help your situation but you should be able to ask for an administrative hearing for a board to over look the decison, and also find out if other paitients have had issues like yours, and see if your counceler will help you look into it a little more, after all they are supposed to be there to help you and support your sobriety and encourage you to do better, although alot of them are burnt out and just dont care anymore, anyways you can also file complaints with your clinic and aginst the lab that does your urine testing...also alot of medications can read as another medication in a cheap test and most likely your clinic does the cheapest possible....ibprophen and naproxen and antibiotics have been known to give false poitive results for benzos for example...hopefully you find someone to help your situation.....

I am in a similar situation myself in wa state.....i gave a sample for testing on the 28th of june and withinwithin 36 hours of giving that sample apparently made it from Washington State to San Diego California was tested and results given and it supposedly came back positive for opiates the test my clinic conduct are, very basic and the collection process is not within Federal standards anyways I have given four observed UAs a month for the last 9 months that I requested to be done because I am on County Probation, I have not had one dirty UA the entire time and now all of a sudden one comes back positive for opiates and I had it retested which took almost 2 weeks to get the results and it came back positive still I have filed a grievance reports and incident reports with my County Attorney General's office as well as the department of Health and Social Services and methadone.org hopefully I get some sort of results or some help as to why my UA has come up positive for opiates good luck in your situation I hope you are able to figure things out and get your name Vindicated I on the other hand I'm terrified to take this to my probation officer although I have never had a dirty UA and I am pretty sure she will be lenient with me and just have me do uas somewhere else but it still scares me because I am a recovering addict and nobody listens to us.

Yes it is illegal, they have to detox you and you also have the right to an administrative hearing.. there is an elderly man at the clinic i go to in wa state and he was on a split dose of 230mg twice a day so a total of 460mg daily because he was on medication that forces the methadone out of his system, anyways he got 2 false positive saliva tests, and the last one he took he also went to the VA hospital and had a UA done 2 hours after the saliva sample was given, the saliva came back positive but the Ua was negative, the clinic wouldnt except the outside test and he got upset and raised his voice and they kicked him off that day without any detox...this man has many health issues that the dr at the clinic is well aware of and because of the stress from withdrawls he had a heart attack, he is now suing the clinic and tbe clinic is also refusing to refund his payment....this clinic has a history of doing what it wants because up unt 9months ago it was a private cash pay facility and had no government funding. The UA system is the most bizzare i've seen ever...Anyways your state has laws and paitent rights that the clinic you attend has to follow but allot of the time they count on fear and paitents not knowing thier rights to get away witb doing what they want....file a grievence report at www.methadone.org and also go to www.samhsa.gov and file a complaint and contact the coorprate office for your clinic and also put in complaints there

This is not a Presidential issue- I assume you are on the "Trump is gonna make methadone clinics great again" bandwagon. ?

Methadone worked for me . i never got above 50mgs. When i decided to switch to suboxone, i stepped down 5 mg at a time and then took a day off.The next day i took a whole sub(8Mg) and it clashed severely with the risidual methaone in my system. I took a way lower dose ,like 1/8 of a sub for a week but it just generally did not ever make me feel normal. I ended up back on pills ,then back on methadone. Some people do well on subs, not me. I hope everyone finds the help they need.

I am from MI but when it comes to take homes, my dr who is on the board that creates laws/regulations for clinics, always says "take homes are privileges & nobody actually has a right to them." So they give them as an incentive to do good but when someone messes up it's up to them pretty much. At least in MI if you mess up once they can let it slide (only once) or take them away. Anything after one mess up is automatic loss of take homes. I like my clinics stance on take homes for the most part (it really starts slowing down after 4 day a week take homes though) & my dr always reminds people that b**** that there is another clinic in our same county that makes you go EVERYDAY until you've been there & clean for one year!! & even at that point you only get a take home for sunday!!

Actually "jeff" whatever, you are not informed!! A person making $50,000/yr pays less than $40 towards foodstamp programs a year! You pay over $2,000 for corporation taxes/loopholes & even for overseas corporations. & you actually think our president is in control of all this? Ignorant. Laws & things of that sort are passed through congress/house of reps which is ran by republicans at this time!! & anyways, I started at a clinic before our current president was in office & s*** was the same. Obviously this guys situation is messed up but it has nothing to do with what you're b****ing about. My dr at my clinic is on the board which creates the laws that have to be followed & also works with closely with the DEA which is who does federal inspections on clinics & is the pretty much God for them. That's where s*** needs to change because methadone clinics are federally funded.

I know I am a few months late. I just hope the OP is ok! That is the most insane "detox" I have ever heard of & for 1 dirty? I'm in MI & if you're kicked out for breaking rules/using, you get a 45 day detox. & 1 drug test won't get you kicked out. A patient may get their take homes taken away (depends on the situation) until they have clean drops for over 30 days again but not kicked out! Actually you're allowed to drop dirty the entire first 90 days you're there & then it varies but it has to be at least a couple dirties before you're put on a contract & are given 30 days to be clean & if you're not, thrn the 45 days starts. I know CARF is who accredits my clinic but our patient'd right recipient is wonderful as well & definitely fights on our behalfs. Hope things got sorted out.

I totally understand. I've been on methadone for 15years and I've seen everything ileagal done to my self an others. If anyone has a problem with 15years all I have to say is "I'm clean have a great family and great life. But for these clinics, someone has to do something because what they do and how they treat people is unbelievable. You are totally at there mercey and if you piss them off, they put you out.I have called every state drug e alcohol agency every NAMA and any number I could find and never got any help or situation resolved. The stuff I've seen at these clinics I won't even wright because it's even hard for me to believe. But it has to STOP. I'm am trying everything in my power to get people to take notice and put a stop to it so one day I can stop someone from getting detoxed.
