Tussigon - Fda Approved Veterinary Medicine?
UpdatedMy dog has a 4 out of 6 murmur and easily inducible cough. His pulses are good, but a narrowing of the trachea is causing a constant cough and weird breathing. He is on this medication but I would like to know if the FDA approved it for use in veterinary medicine? Thanks.

Yes, it is. I've had 2 poodles that have had tracheal stricture/collapse, congestive heart failure/pulmonary edema, and chronic cough related to these issues. Tussigon allowed us to finally get some sleep. Do remember that it contains a narcotic though, so monitor your pup closely til you're sure it can tolerate the drug. BTW, I'm an RN and have also worked as a vet assist.
My dog has congestive heart failure and needs Tussigon. Where may I get a prescription filled for this med?
