When I got muscle cramps when using this medication the customer service person at my medical group suggested I drink a glass of tonic water before going to bed. IT WORKS!

Try drinking tonic water for cramps. It really helped me at bed time.

I also was taking this medicine Triamt/HCTZ for approximately three days when I started experiencing severe leg cramps. I thought it was over exercising, but some days I couldn't get up from a sitting position to exercise. After approximately five days of ingesting this drug, I almost could not walk without having severe pain in both legs but very severe in the left one. I was told by my primary physician as well as the pharmacist, not to take the drug for more than four or five days. Now I see why, but I did not notice that I was losing any fluids. This drug was prescribed for me to reduce the fluid. The instruction of taking this pill is only half a pill when necessary. I am taking the blood-pressure medicine, lisinopril along with this medicine, but I stopped taking the Triamt/HCTZ, since I have experienced this severe pain in my legs. However, I have not felt any pain when I was only taking the lisinopril. I am convinced that even though this Triamt?HCTZ is supposed to be a diuretic, I will no longer be taking this medication, because I have not expelled any water while on this pill. I will let my Physician know, when I go back for my annual well-woman check-up, that I decided not to continue taking the Triamt/HCTZ medication. I am not one that can live with all this pain.

I was on Maxide with only 25mg and was changed to this medication triamt/hctz 75-50mg and I lost the ability to grip my right hand after the 1st pill. I know it was this medication as I didn't take any more and the feeling came back. I am NOT TAKING any more.

I too am getting severe muscle cramps and my doctor gave me a script for muscle relaxer!!! I did my own test if i dont take them i dont have muscle cramps!!! I too get them in my arms legs and back and they are very painful!!!

I do not have high BP, was given the meds for dizzyness,they think due to the innerear, and sick feeling I have had for over 3 months, have been taking it for about 2 weeks with no side effect, my pills are round green, with 66/165 on them. I'm suprised to see that it is listed as a water pill!

Dr prescribed this to me in order to dry up fluid that has built up in one of my ears impairing hearing due to congestion and allergies. It is a diarrheatic meaning it absorbs/expels water from the body. So far I've only experienced mild muscle fatigue, but I have been drinking more water than usual. If you're on this be sure to drink lots of water. This will help with the cramps and the constipation. Also if you're experiencing cramps try eating more potassium rich foods such as bananas. You should also cut back on salt, but if you're taking this for high BP you should be doing that anyway

Started taking this med 6 days ago & am experiencing
Strong muscle cramp in lower legs & feet, At times very painful. Also dizzy & feel "giddy" all the time. Going to stop taking it immediately. Am 75 yrs old & although take lots of other med nothing else has brought on these new reactions. Just hope it clears my system quickly. Would someone out there tell me me how long it takes? Thank you very much

I was prescibed this medication for edema (swollen ankles and legs). I also was experiencing som really nasty leg cramps getting out of bed in the morning and sometimes in the middle of the night. I drink a lot of water, and try to eat at least one banana a day for potassium, but I find that the meds combined with the banana left me constipated. I told my doctor about the side effects and he prescibed some potassiumm(CL10MEQ CRTAB SAND) for the cramps and had me buy some over the counter magnesium (250mg) for the constipation. Since I began taking them I haven't had the unbearable leg cramps and I am much more regular.

I am taking it for swelling in my legs too. If you read it tells you it is for anything your Dr. wants it to be for.

Inne Ear Disturbance is caused by a lack of iodine. This MUST betaken in a natural form, not the car you get from the Drug store or WalMArt etc. eat kelp evey chance you get. Buy the sprinkler, and add it to everything in lieu of salt. Also, take kelp tablets WHOLE FOOD ONLY, 2 twice a day.

I HAVE BEEN THROUGH ON HCTZ. THE LEGS WOULD CRAMP SO BAD I WOULD CRY AND I AM A STRONG PERSON. I WENT OFF AND THE PAIN IS GONE!

I was told I was allergic to iodine so I have avoided it for many yrs.Maybe thats why my ears are ringing.i will have to try it but can i get it somewhere besides whole foods? We dont have whole foods in my area.

That's me I have extreme swelling but blood pressure runs low. I know before I was giving a blood pressure pill and it just left me like a zombie, I could barely move had no energy. Felt horrible! I don't know what to do I can't handle the swelling because I smother. I don't know what to do??

I've been taking it also for my lack of balance originated from my ear, and it works great, at one time I stopped taking thinking I was Ok and didn't need it anymore, well I started with the horrible dizzy spells and lack of balance etc.,, I stared taking the medication again, and I feel good, for me it has worked real good
