This is for major pain in my upper back when ibuprofen and cyclobenzaprine aren't working. I would like to add tramadol and want to know if it's safe to do so? ## Had it been prescribed for you? The FDA classifies it as a mild opiate that carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Are you on any other medications?

I weaned myself off suboxone and Nucynta. Then had to have a vaginal sling placed I've only taken 2 but I don't want to lose my doctor ## I forgot to add in my last post.the pain management dr said the point or what they message percentage with showed my tramadol level 1200 and shouldn't be over 150.i don't even take tramadol.so I don't understand at all. ## Did they even question why you had tramadol in your system??

This is an analgesic, derived from an opiate, so even though it works like an anti-inflammatory, it does have the same addictive qualities and is classified by the FDA as a narcotic. Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, sweating, constipation and drowsiness. ## It is Tramadol which is NOT derived from any opiate, contrary to other comments here. Hi, last year in December I overdosed on 100 50mg capsules of tramadol, this was intensional but I was found and I was rushed to the hospital on a blue light, one route I had three seizures and the emergency team was unsure if I would survive, the reason I tried to take my life was I had been in a large amount of pain due to spinal stenosis, for the pain I was taking tramadol 2 x 50mg 4 x a day, 5 ml of oramorph 4 times a day, 2 x co codamol 500/30 4 x a day 50 mg Amitriptaline once a day and I had 10 mg butrans patches, even though I was on this amount of meds I was still in considerable amount of pain and I had enough. My opinion is stay the hell away from this drug. I took it for less than a week for severe back pain. I experienced the following, all of which indicate a deadly allergic reaction and are supposed to be rare: -extreme swelling of the tongue to the point where my teeth were cutting into it; -trouble sleeping/night terrors; -constant itching at night that was affecting my sleep; -frequent feeling of having to urinate. The drug did barely anything for my pain and I had to up my dose within two days. That was when the side effects started. Again, not worth it. Please stay away. Pharmacists and doctors will insist that the drug is safe but it isn't. I've also personally talked to three people who have had seizures as a result of this drug. What can I take to avoid withdrawal symptoms ## There is a product called Kratom used for people on Tramadol as a replacement and it also replaces methadone for withdrawals for those on stronger opioids. There's a number of articles from numerous sources posted here and it's available (so far) without a script. I took two 50mg ultrams Saturday and have a urine screen Wednesday. Will they be out of my system? ## Is it a urine screen, or saliva? They are different, therefore the answer is different. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Have they been prescribed for you? If so, you should only have to inform them, at that the time of testing.

I bought all white capsules in mexico pharmacy with word medix on it i want to make sure they are tramadoles ## Hi Tony, Based on my research, Medix is actually the name of a pharmaceutical manufacturer in Mexico, and not necessarily a brand name of Tramadol. However, further investigation suggests that Medix reportedly manufacturers a drug by the name of "Prontofort", which is supposed to be their version of Tramadol hydrochloride. Other reports on the name "Medix" link it back to diet/weight loss pills such as Phentermine. But I believe this is just another drug that Medix manufacturers. I have more pain relief taking one 50 mg Tramadol every 3 hours instead of 2 tablets every 6 hours. My primary dr. is ok with this but my pharmacist is a little hesitate. I can take 5 pills per day. I have currently been in Suboxone treatment for almost 3 years now. I get urine tested every month, and it is sent to lab. I always show any hospital, dentist, etc my prescription and let them know exactly what the situation is and advise them I CAN NOT have opiates. I recently went to the dentist and has 5 teeth extracted and was in severe pain so he prescribed me tramadol. I then went to my normal Suboxone visit and took my urine test and was told it came up positive for Opiates in March, and positive for Methadone in April. I have Osteoarthritis, possibly Fibromyalgia, and two knees that are bone-on-bone and need replacement. Even though I take Tramadol 300 ER daily and Arthrotec, 2 Tylenol, and 2 Aleve three times a day, I am still in pain. Forgetting to take meds or being out of meds for a day causes unbelievable aches everywhere except my fingers, elbows and toes. I cannot work and cannot sleep. I also get very emotional and angry and my BP goes up. I will soon be having my first knee replaced. The doctor said I will need to be off all the pain meds except for Tylenol. I do not believe I can do this. A couple times the doctor has given me steroids when I was having a flare up and it completely eliminated the swelling and pain.
