I found some pills: purple, small and round, with JSP on one side, and 563 on the other side. What is it? ## This is a 175mcg Unithroid tablet, which contains the active ingredient Levothyroxine that's used to treat thyroid disorders. Are there any other questions or comments?

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism a few years back and began taking levothyroxine. Although I didn't lose weight, my energy levels did improve and sugar cravings decreased. However, in the past couple of months I've been experiencing intense hot flashes at night as well as throughout the day, have skipped a period and have been feeling very irritable, moody and depressed. I also developed a really weird and random rash on my upper thigh that wasn't itchy or painful, but lasted for about a month and has still not completely faded. It looks like a birth mark now. I realize that my symptoms could be perimenopause (I'm 39 yrs old) but I've also read that the side effects of levothyroxine can also cause my symptoms, as can having a thyroid disorder. I've been so des...

I have been taking levothyroxine 50mcg for 1 week. I've being taking care of my self, watch what I eat and I try to walk every day 20 to 30 mint. My weight before I start levothyroxine was 138lbs and know I weight 130lbs in just one week! Is that ok?? or what do guys think? ## Hi Blanca, The thyroid gland controls how quickly the body uses energy, and since Levothyroxine is used to treat an under active thyroid, it makes good sense that your metabolism and fat burning would rev up during the time that you're on this medication. I would however question whether or not the pounds you are losing is really just water weight as opposed to fat cells? One way to know for sure would be to weigh yourself in the morning as well as in the evening. If your weight fluctuates it's likely ...

Small round white pill KPI 226 on one side, scored on other side ## Correction: The small white pill is marked _KPI 116. I have another small white pill which I think is generic T-3 it is marked 25 above the score and 222 below ## Hi Jon, The imprint "KPI 116" is identified as Cytomel 25 mcg (0.025 mg). This pill contains the active ingredient Liothyronine; which is used to treat hypothyroidism (an under active thyroid). The imprint 25 222 has been identified as generic Liothyronine sodium 25 mcg (0.025 mg). So they are pretty much the same drug! You can read more about it by visiting the link below: I hope this helps!

Is it advisable to take eltroxin same time with ferrous forte, or should there be a gap of an hour or so between the tablets. i am taking eltroxin 0.1mg, and i was found resently to have low iron and my doctor prescribed ferrous forte. my concern is to benefit from both medication and do not have one preventing the other from doing its work in me. please help. ## Actually, the Iron can cause less absorption of the Levothyroxine, so they should be taken 4 hours apart and your doctor should check your hormone levels regularly, while you are under treatment. Are there any other questions or comments?

I had my Thyroid remove due to thyroid cancer and have been taking synthroid for 3 yrs, since then my Blood pressure and cholesterol skyrocketed, before surgery(synthroid) my BP around 120/75 and Cholesterol below 5(around 200), now it's 140/80 or hinger and Cholesterol 6.6. ## Has your doctor definitively related the medication to these bodily changes? There may be other reasons, including after effects of the surgery, or other medical reasons, such as aging, poor date, improper exercise and etc. It's very hard to blame a medication and prove that it has caused conditions that are very common.

I have hypothyroidism, and I've been on 25 mcg levothyroxine for three months now, and my blood results came back normal during my last doctor's visit. I forgot to ask him, so I thought I'd ask here. Since my thyroid is normal, do I have to continue taking the medication? ## A normal blood test result doesn't necessarily mean that your thyroid has returned to normal and that you are cured, what it can mean is that the medication is working, thus stopping it could start the problems you were being treat for, all over again. Have you consulted your doctor? Normally, if a change in the medication is needed, they would adjust your dosage accordingly.

I got the three thyroid tests done on a day without taken the daily dose of thyronorm. The results were within reference range. I have been taking thyronorm since last 8 years and have been getting tested on own at regular basis with/without taking the daily dosage on the testing day. only if the results are not in reference range I used to go to doctor and get it evaluated. However, this time I want to know how test needs to done and understood with/without taking the daily dosage on the testing day or for few days prior to the testing day. Does the effect of daily dose lasts only for that day or for many days and so not taking the daily dose only on the sample collection day is of not the understanding that the body is in non-altered state. I have done some alternative treatment, wher...

i consulted a doctor(md,fccp) for symptoms that indicated HYPOYHYROIDISM.the blood report(t3,t4,tsh) was normal.i was prescribed capsules of Mecobalamin Alpha Lipoic Acid and vitamins.why? do i have hypothyroidism? ## Hypothyroidism (an underactive thyroid) is when your thyroid doesn't produce enough hormones. The balance of chemical reactions in your body can be upset. There can be a number of causes, including autoimmune disease, treatment for hyperthyroidism, radiation therapy, thyroid surgery and certain medications. I'm not a doctor, so I wouldn't know why "you" have hypothyroidism, however, I would recommend taking a look at the link below to view some of the primary causes of an under active thyroid: mayoclinic.com/health/hypothyroidism I hope you find the inf...

Small white tablets with x on the back EM 50 on the face ## Hi Teco, Based on the description provided, I may have located a match to your pill. The only problem is, my source does not show a photo of this pill, just the description "EM 50" being the imprint on a white round tablet. I'll go ahead and post this pill information below so you can see if it rings a bell or not: "EM 50" is identified as a Novothyrox (0.05 mg) Oral Tablet. The active ingredient being Thyroxine, which is a thyroid hormone. The crossed score line on the back is also a part of the description as well. Additonally, the size of this pill is noted to be 7 mm, if that helps in anyway to verify this information. I hope this helps!

So I have been taking levothyroxine 25mcg since December 2011. I definatley have been feeling a little odd but haven't noticed an increase in energy yet. Anyway my main concern is that I got my menstrual in January and it seemed normal which means it lasted about 7 days. This months not so much I have had my menstrual cycle since February 11 and it just won't go away, that is 15 days already. Does any now if this is a normal reaction or what. Has anyone had similar experiences. ## Have you consulted your doctor? It is a Thyroid hormone and I do know that they can sometimes throw you menstrual cycle off, when they are out of whack, even though there aren't any specific warnings about it with this medication. However, I'd recommend talking to your doctor about it, just to ...

what is this? the description is above ## I am not certain which product it is, because the company manufactures several and doesn't provide descriptions of them, but it is a product made by RLC Labs. They make various natural supplement products, such as for Thyroid support and multivitamins, as well as some Thyroid products that are available only by prescription. You can contact them directly to ask which one it is, by calling 877-797-7997 If you do get an answer, could you please post back for future site users?

blue-green color round scored across imprint on one side only - reads: 832 on top half and L03 on bottom half ## I'm sorry, but I can't find a listing for this, but that makes sense, if it is a foreign medication. They are not required to list their imprints and file them with the FDA, like medications are that are sold in the U.S. However, I will keep looking. Does anyone else recognize this? Do you have any idea what it was for? ## It's Levothyroxine. I bought some in Mexico back in 1989 or 1990. I can't remember the strength, but they're most likely 150 mcg.

Having bouts of constipation since January 2011. Could the formula for Cytomel have changed since Pfizer bought out King Pharmaceutical? Allergic to wheat & gluten. My TSH levels are within a good range. Interested to know if anyone else has noticed change in the last year. ## Yes, they could have changed something in the inactive ingredients, though I haven't found any specific information on that. It's also highly possible that your body had just changed slightly, with time, so you are experiencing new side effects from it. Or it could be completely unrelated to the medication. Have you talked to your doctor about it?

Hello, I've been on 150 of Synthroid for about 3 years. Recently I started training for a half marathon and have lost about 25 pounds in the last 7 months. Does weight loss/gain mean dosage change? Last blood test was about 4 months ago and everything checked out normal. Any feedback would be great. Thank you. ## The dosage is based on the levels of thyroid hormones, not your weight, but your doctor should be checking that every 3 to 4 months and make an adjustment to the medication, if necessary. How often has your doctor been running the tests?

What is the name of this pill?...green pill with M on one side and 53 on the other side ## Which tablet are you asking about? Because the M L7 mentioned in the subject of your post contains 0.088mgs of Levothyroxine, which is used to treat Thyroid disorders. However, the one mentioned in your post with the M 53 markings contains 200mgs of Cimetidine, which is an antacid, used to treat or prevent conditions, such as ulcers, heartburn, GERD and gastritis.

Where can I buy Zemplar 2mcg without breaking the bank? ## Have you tried looking around online to see if there are any coupons for this drug? That would probably be your best bet for saving some extra cash at the pharmacy. Maybe also consider calling some of the pharmacies in your general area or outside of your area to compare prices for this particular prescription. I also noticed many other users on this forum had success with the following prescription coupon site: I hope this helps!
