Teva Lorazepam Reviews (Page 7) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI'm seeking insights and reviews on Teva Lorazepam and its comparison with Leading Pharma's version. There's a notable divide in user experiences. Some report Leading Pharma Lorazepam as being less effective or having no effect, possibly due to variations in the active ingredient, leading to side effects or adverse reactions in certain cases.
While there are those who recommend Teva Lorazepam for its efficacy, others find Leading Pharma's version more suitable. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to try Teva Lorazepam since it's not available in my area – no local pharmacies dispense it.
My experience with other brands, post the discontinuation of Qualitest, hasn't been successful in finding a comparable alternative. I'm particularly interested in understanding how Teva Lorazepam and Leading Pharma's lorazepam differ in terms of effectiveness and user satisfaction.
If you've had experiences with either or both of these medications, your reviews would be incredibly valuable. Any insights into their efficacy, side effects, or overall satisfaction would greatly help me and others in our decisions.
Re: Verwon (# 1)
Has anyone tried the new/old watson/actavis/teva lorazepam? (Actavis bought out Watson back around 2013.....but kept the same molds so they still read "Watson)...Teva bought out Actavis last year.....changed the molds....but I wonder did they change the formula.
Re: Jpaw55 (# 213)
Jpaw sorry you're feeling crappy. You're definetly having benzodiazepine withdrawal. I went through the same when Mylan stopped making it and I was given Leading.
A couple options: If this is the only genetic lorazepam you can get see if your doctor can submit a prior authorization with your insurance for brand name Ativan. If that doesn't work tell your doctor to prescribe a different benzodiazepine like Xanax or Klonopin.
I've taken Ativan (brand name), watson, actavis, Leading and now Teva. None seemed as ood as the original Ativan (not even brand name now)......but it seems like it's all about the filler....some tolerate all the generics....some don't seem to tolerate any.....for me, the best were watson and Leading though Leading is thicker and indeed sweeter....but the other filler %'s may make it ineffective for some....but don't make the mistake of saying what doesn't work for you doesn't work for everyone....it's not only incorrect but destroys ones confidence in what generic they are taking....and much of the effectiveness is due to belief in what we take....
Re: Henry (# 217)
'You're a placebo guy, taking all these garbage generics you have already completeled the withdrawal from lorazepam'......I wish you were right Henry..but tell that to my body every 5-6 hours.....maybe I'm just addicted to my tapwater.
Re: Mercy (# 220)
I'm sorry to hear that Teva isn't working for you. As with all generics I'm hesitant at first.....when I got Teva I immediately looked them up..they bought out Actavis (who had bought out Watson years before). Supposedly (according to a Costco pharmacist who wasn't selling Teva but Leading) watson, actavis and Teva are all exactly the same formula including fillers. I've been taking Teva now for about 2 months.....I don't feel any difference from actavis (I take 2mg x 3 day).....but we are all different.
Re: Richard H (# 223)
hope your right, the activas is the only brand that works for me
Re: Russ (# 229)
Only a pharmacist can tell you that......but I do know that the Watson of say -2012 was not the same watson of 2018.....but they were so similar no one seemed to notice because they still said 'watson'. Our belief that something works for us plays a big part in its ability to do so....not as in a placebo effect but the mind is very powerful......keep in mind we take this stuff because our minds are telling us there is "danger" when there is none...and our body/minds react to that suggestion.....not including of course those with hormonal imbalances......I find the absolute best way to get a generic to work for me is to take it then get very busy both mentally and physically....enough so that you don't dwell on it....stop checking your pulse, feelings, headaches, etc....live your life as best you can...there are those here of course that will disagree....vehemently I might add....but that's their loss...but keep in mind- except in rare cases (of course EVERYONE thinks they are that rare case) anxiety is the product of thought.....been there/doing that since 1967. and stay off Google...awful for phobics..
Re: gsrmike98 (# 238)
I felt no difference between the Teva and the Actavis. Everyone is different, that is why some love Leading or Actavis or Mylan , etc. As I said once before either here or another forum...I found it best to take the pill and them keep myself busy mentally and physically. The more we concentrate on how we feel, the more we will notice what we feel...one of the major problems of having anxiety.
I agree I been having increased anxiety and stomach upset. I believe the are trying do away, with it. I have tried all the others. Bad reactions.
It's been a couple days and my body is still adjusting. I noticed when I come down I have terrible headaches and it does make my stomach hurt a little. It could be a lot worse and it is still better than Leading brand. Richard is right, I need to not focus on every little sensation and stay busy. I was very used to taking actavis/Watson brand and miss it. The mind is a powerful thing, so if we put it in our minds that it is not going to work and only think negatively then that's what we are going to notice. I am in no way minimizing any symptoms that people deal with. Medications affect all individuals differently and some are more sensitive to the inactive fillers. Wishing everyone the best
Re: gsrmike98 (# 265)
sorry but its not in the head, if it was the same exact pill they could have kept the same size, etc, the same exact pill would create the same effect on you, been through this before, they tell you its the same but its a flat out lie, sandoz tried that garbage on me years ago, they had to shut down after a while because they couldnt get to believe their lies, try and keep an open mind but dont be afraid to call it like it is, when i read some comments about someone who says that the med is the same i accept the fact that some people can take just about anything but most of us realize that at points like teva taking over activus, teva has made a change, look at the adderal complaints about teva, same issue, the product doesnt work
Re: joe (# 271)
i also have to say that the fillers may effect people differently because of pill size as well i take 0.5 which is tiny compaired to the 1mg pill the 1 mg pill is 4x the size of the 0.5 so i a guess the majority of the pill is fillers the higher the mg
Re: gsrmike98 (# 272)
i agree with becca i just took my second dose the pill seems to me at least to be a bit stronger then the watson/actavis side effects for me were a come down headache pretty bad one and also some flusing of my skin ..... hopefully i my body adjust within a few days and it will be back to normal i check back in a post again to give an update
Re: Wilson777 (# 281)
So I should be giving not MY experience but just repeat the complaints of others? One main ingredient that has been omitted from many complaints is that the reason we take lorazepam is for anxiety.........ANXIETY can make one believe things that others do not and vice versa. I gave my experience, I've had panic disorder/anxiety since June of 1967, been through two "clinics" where they practiced cold turkey withdrawal.....you want to experience a drug not working? Do cold turkey, then compare it to the lorazepam you hate the most.....I'll bet you won't think it's so bad!
Re: Wilson777 (# 284)
So, here’s my opinion for what it’s worth. I’ve been on Lorazepam for over 20 years and have probably tried most. Until about 3 years ago, I honestly didn’t pay attention to the mfgr. Since the past two years there has been a carousel of availability and mfgr issues. Went from Watson to Actavis to Leading to Aurobindo. When I received Leading for the first time I was very anxious, had read some horrible things and sure enough, it didn’t seem to be very effective, but I had no alternative. After about a week, things got a little better. Next script I got Aurobindo and for a few days had an adjustment period, but is now fine. So, my point is twofold: I truly believe that the quality of these generics has gone down over the past several years.. I also believe that for me personally that a positive mindset, excercise, deep breathing exercises impacts the effectiveness of the medication. There are obviously other factors involved like your personal situation (stress factors, health concerns) that impact your medication.
Re: Wilson777 (# 291)
I wish you best of luck. I've only tried to help here but apparently it's not appreciated. I'll not bother you again.
Re: Linda (# 293)
you have to remember that the drug companies have averaged 233 million dollars a year to our REPRESENTATIVES in washington, this is one of the gifts the drug companies get, a lame fda which does nothing when it comes to bad medications
Re: Marcus (# 298)
sounds like your in tolerance withdrawal ? maybe you need to up your dose ? if you were having some problems before the switch id definitely go with a higher dose of maybe try and space out you dose in a better time span.... i had the oppisite effect with teva i felt it was a lot stronger then watson/actavis
Re: Jibbs55 (# 300)
that is a very good observation on your part. I have thought the same myself but i believe instead of getting rid of them you will have to see a psychiatrist to get them ...... like how you would have to go to pain management to get opioids. And i also think the black box warning and the fda admitting these drugs are really hard to come off of and withdrawal can last for many month if not years has scared doctors put of wanting to prescribe them and taking existing patients off of them.... But pharmaceutical companies are way to money hungry to get rid of benzo or opioids. Even when you look at lawsuits say like prude pharma they settled for 6 billion that's just a drop in the bucket of what they made...... they most likely made like 80 billion off the oxy if not more over the years. Just my 2 cents anyways
