I'm seeking insights and reviews on Teva Lorazepam and its comparison with Leading Pharma's version. There's a notable divide in user experiences. Some report Leading Pharma Lorazepam as being less effective or having no effect, possibly due to variations in the active ingredient, leading to side effects or adverse reactions in certain cases.

While there are those who recommend Teva Lorazepam for its efficacy, others find Leading Pharma's version more suitable. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to try Teva Lorazepam since it's not available in my area – no local pharmacies dispense it.

My experience with other brands, post the discontinuation of Qualitest, hasn't been successful in finding a comparable alternative. I'm particularly interested in understanding how Teva Lorazepam and Leading Pharma's lorazepam differ in terms of effectiveness and user satisfaction.

If you've had experiences with either or both of these medications, your reviews would be incredibly valuable. Any insights into their efficacy, side effects, or overall satisfaction would greatly help me and others in our decisions.

You must not have been reading this thread for the last few months almost on a daily basis.. this group of people whom I’ve gotten to know pretty well and am sure are all over the country, have been in this situation forever it seems!! Mylan stopped making this months ago and the few pharmacies that still had it were just using up what they had. Leading has taken over and it’s garbage. A few weeks ago I posted who and where people could voice their complaints to and it’s the only way we will be heard. Look back through here and make sure you have your settings to post the newest first or you’ll be reading posts from years ago.

My cvs just changed from Mylan to Leading for Lorezapam. It is nothing more than a sugar pill. I don't know what to do about it.

Boy...talk about monopolies forming......so who will be making it besides Leading? My pharmacist says he’s ordered Watson ‘made by Watson’ according to him....not Actavis as Actavis doesn’t manufacture..it distributes according to 2 pharmacists....only relating what they said..not my specialty....it will be in just about now....new prescription is obtained next week......I think I prefer the Watson (been taking it since around the time it was absorbed/merged by Teva)...it’s worked for me but then Leading hasn’t been too bad for me...4th week now of 100% Leading... Maybe I’m one of the lucky ones.......a couple others in an anxiety group I belong to take it too...no issues......and i’m sure they would have said something as this group b****es about everything, lol......I had not noticed the sweetness until I read it here so I let one dissolve in my mouth....yup....sure tastes like sugar .....funny....sometimes it feels like it’s not quite as strong as the Watson...other times definitely stronger - longer lasting- not stronger sedatively speaking....and for some weird reason I’m sleeping longer and deeper since taking it.....I thought I’d be more sensitive to any change because i’ve been on 6mg a day for 35 years+. I hope everyone can get their issues resolved...anxiety/panic is bad enough without having meds screwing with us too......btw...my wife was on valsartan.....(sigh)

The last batch (backordered) is not released yet and they do not know. After last batch is exhausted, mylan lorazepam is discontinued.

Do you know what branch of govt(?) did research with resulting in older folks being refused.... taken off lorazepam. And having to go through awful withdrawal. I have not been able to locate clinical trial or govt agency who mandated this order.
Old folks who are alone will suffer Agoraphobia even death from accidents when panic attacks come while driving. My Dr. said
"Attorney General" orders. I. can't find that information online.

Thank God I’ve found another person who understands what several of us have tried so hard to get complaints going. If you scroll down to my last post a few days ago I got the direct complaint sites for this “sugar” tasting garbage Leading brand of lorazepam. It sounds like you’re serious about filing complaints. I’m diabetic and it tasted like pure sugar. I decided to try it for one month since nothing else was available. Gabby and I have been on this thread trying to get as much help complaining to whoever will listen. I’m hoping the post with all the phone numbers and websites will help. Good luck..

Sounds like Leading is definitely not for everyone. I’ve been taking it now for 3 months (mixed with 1 Watson at night until 2 weeks ago...)..2 mg 3x day.....if anything I feel calmer and sleeping better since i’ve been taking it......oh, one thing I wanted to ask....in early posts people stated with Leading that they felt anxious or had panic attacks........in all the years (decades) I took the name brand Ativan...my anxiety never stopped nor did panic attacks until I actually accepted the attacks as part of my life and i’d just have to live with them. For some reason they then stopped. I don’t question it, I just accept it....i’ve never taken a drug (Valium, Ativan or an SSRI) that actually stopped panic attacks. So my question is, before you switched to 'Leading'....was *whatever* lorazepam you were taking actually stopping panic attacks?

My God this same result/complaints are all over the internet! Everything Twig7 said seems to be on the money as I have done the same research. My Mother is taking Ativan and she is 73, so to the poor guy is being taken off his lorazepam, you need to find another doctor. Mom's been taking this medication for almost 30 years and has somewhat plateaued on her dose and was recently written one more tablet which did the trick and everything was great. she gets a 3 month supply at a time now, and her most recent script was filled with the leading brand generic ativan. She is currently in the hospital with severe stomach issues after about a month of this medication. No. I am not joking or exaggerating even a little. after just a day or two she felt these new sugary tasting pills from Leading Pharma aren't relieving her anxiety much if at all. Like I said, she just got this medication increase recently so there is definitely something to this. You Pharmacists can say what you want, that these people are all nuts, that all these generics are the same. Well folks, this is very real, and getting more traction recently with this particular brand of medication. Unless you are in this situation is hard to really comprehend what this can do to a person or there loved ones. I personally am gonna take this as far as I can until I get some changes, and some answers. I have been on a benzodiazepine myself for a few years after I came home from the U.S.M.C. for ptsd and was able to wean off myself. One of the hardest things I have ever done, but I took it upon myself to get off of prescription medications. Weaning process for me took almost 9 months after 4 years of xanax 2mg X 3 a day. Under a physician most people take longer, some much longer and there is nothing wrong with that. My point is, I do understand a little more intimately than someone who's never taken this type of medication. LEADING PHARMA LORAZEPAM IS TERRIBLE. That's the moral of the story. I’m on Leading now 100%...still waiting to see if there will be another shoe to drop.....thus far I’m actually sleeping better than with the Watson.....and since Watson will be available in early August when I get a new prescription I’m not sure which to choose....Leading (with the bad reviews on this forum) or Watson (which apparently gets some bad reviews here too).

I have been on Mylan Lorazepam for 7 years. I went to the pharmacy last month and it was out of stock. They gave me Leading pharma. I was so worried but I have never felt better. I am more relaxed and have no sign of an anxiety attack like I had with Mylan brand.

Just me again. I just got off the phone with Major pharmaceuticals, Rugby laboratories, and Leading pharmaceuticals. They are all distributors, they don’t make the lorazepam, but they have to record all of our complaints and they supposedly take them very seriously, he said the more complaints, the more likely something will be done to fix it. He said to go into the pharmacy and get the NDC which is national drug code, which will direct us right to where the complaints need to be made. 00904 is Major; 00536 is Rugby. The website for complaints is majorpharmaceuticals.com or rugbylaboratories.com and there is a contact area. I bet if we all start emailing with complaints directly to them instead of FDA, something may get done. Maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!

I have updated info from my pharmacist on where the lorazepam stands as of today, August 25. The Qualitest that was mentioned a few posts ago, can’t remember who it was, but they were bought out by Par. So it may not be the formula Qualitest used. I would ask to try a couple before filling and getting stuck with a month of garbage. Also, Watson I noticed wasn’t working last time and always did before, I believe he said Teva is now filling the Watson brand. Thank goodness this pharmacist has hidden the Mylan 0.5 for me, which has about 500 left, but I’m doubling the dose as I take 1 mg twice a day, so these won’t last long. It’s awful to have anxiety and not have anything that works anymore. He did say that very few companies are making this and Leading is still the main one. My friend whose been on this for years also, did find a small family owned pharmacy who had a bottle of 1000 of the Mylan 1 mg, he opened not long ago and doesn’t have many people coming in for this so she got very lucky. I suggest to all of you to go to these small family owned pharmacies, avoid CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid, etc. as they’re corporate owned and have to go by rules of ordering the cheapest which right now is Leading. I’ve written and complained to them, who put the blame on Rugby/Major who says it’s their formula. Maybe if we all do that we can get something resolved. If it was a BP or diabetic med, you bet they’d be all over fixing this problem. Prayers for a calmer day ahead for us all. Kay.....I know of an 82 year old taking lorazepam for the last 20 years.>they started getting panic attacks after their wife died....lorazepam relieved it...I have no doubt that lorazepam is not for everyone no matter what their age..but then neither is aspirin..my Dad was on 6 aspirin a day for decades for his arthritis.......never bothered him......but his brother took aspirin for the same reason and ended up with bleeding ulcers.....

Hello Richard, I am 70 and was put on lorazepam at age 44 when panic disorder was diagnosed. My Dr. in California is taking me off saying I am too old. No side effects all the years. Wants me to take an expensive antipsychotic medication that has nasty side effects and not good for panic. I do not test+ for the antipsychotic. He tells me no one over 65 is supposed to take lorazepam. I appreciate information on varied results from different manufacturers. Thought it was just me feeling different.

Yes, thank you. I also let my pharmacy mail order know that I filed a complaint. I am working on getting the ingredients for lorazepam on some of the different manufacturers. Taking a lot of time.

I called Leading in Livonia, MI, and they gave me a phone number (866)-209-0991, for Rugby/Major Pharmaceuticals and said they’re the ones who actually manufacture the Leading brand. It’s pure garbage and I don’t know how long the little bit of Mylan is going to stay on the shelf at my pharmacy with everyone having horrible luck. There used to be several good manufacturers of this medicine and now we’re all at the mercy of maybe this one company. Everyone reading this needs to contact these people who don’t seem to care about this illness.

I’m not sure if taking benzodiazepines for 50 years has screwed up my mind/body judgement but Leading Pharma not only seems as good as the Watson I was taking (it might’ve been Actavis Watson in disguise but it still said “Watson on the pill and bottle)....in fact it seems Leading is a bit stronger and lasts longer.....am I the only one to find this? I’m taking 2mg 3x day...same as when I started on Ativan/lorazepam in 1983.

I have some bad news. My pharmacist just informed me on the computer it’s telling him Mylan is discontinuing the lorazepam. I told him I emailed Mylan on May 3, and rec’d a call on May 4 from a patient rep who told me the backorder would be stocked by May 21. Somebody has incorrect info. I sent Mylan a new email just now asking that they contact me ASAP as I have a refill due in 4 days and need info. If you have any new info since our last conversation please let me know. This Watson brand I’m finishing up with used to be a reputable company, but my nerves are super bad and I feel horrible.

I know the feeling Deedee very well about these companies messing up the meds we've use for years. I've been through every ringer possible about trying to convince not only doctors but pharmacist some generics just don't work for people. As I've stated I believe it was Pure Pac that started the messing around with the formulas and marketing them with the brand's we've all been used to. It seems it really comes down to making money. I agree with what others have voiced we need to talk to government officials about putting an end this. I too have experience the majority of the side effects from some of the generics most of you guys have talked about. It's not funny at all it really isn't. But I'm with you on this stuff.
