Teva Lorazepam Reviews (Page 27)

Updated

I'm seeking insights and reviews on Teva Lorazepam and its comparison with Leading Pharma's version. There's a notable divide in user experiences. Some report Leading Pharma Lorazepam as being less effective or having no effect, possibly due to variations in the active ingredient, leading to side effects or adverse reactions in certain cases.

While there are those who recommend Teva Lorazepam for its efficacy, others find Leading Pharma's version more suitable. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to try Teva Lorazepam since it's not available in my area – no local pharmacies dispense it.

My experience with other brands, post the discontinuation of Qualitest, hasn't been successful in finding a comparable alternative. I'm particularly interested in understanding how Teva Lorazepam and Leading Pharma's lorazepam differ in terms of effectiveness and user satisfaction.

If you've had experiences with either or both of these medications, your reviews would be incredibly valuable. Any insights into their efficacy, side effects, or overall satisfaction would greatly help me and others in our decisions.

At least you have two...for 10 miles in any direction only Teva is available in every pharmacy-they've cornered the market. I've asked Costco, CVS & Walgreens if they would order lorazepam by ANY other manufacturer and they either said they cannot get it or they only buy the cheapest and that's Teva.

Sounds about right. I've found Teva works longer for me but makes me aggravated at times. But the silver lining is lasting longer. I don't have that urge to use more when super anxious or stressed out from personal stressors. I've only had the .5 mgs. It's nuts how one company can take over a whole city, state or the whole US. Leading and Major had that covered for sometime. Y'all take care.

Hi, I used to take lorazepam by Watson. My dr. called it in now and CVS only has Teva. I got .5 mg but haven't taken it yet. You said it can make you aggravated. Can you explain that? I am getting scared from some of the side effects of Teva I am reading about. That's the only brand they have in my area now (except Leading which has strange reviews, people say it doesn't even work).

Re: amy55 (# 523) Expand Referenced Message

Best bet is just to try it. 0.5mg is the smallest dosage, it won’t cause any severe side effects. If any problem it will be that it doesn’t work

Re: Henry (# 524) Expand Referenced Message

No aggravation here....perhaps a little less affective than the old Watson. Irritability can be a side effect of lorazepam.....no matter who makes it.

Re: Richard (# 15) Expand Referenced Message

I can’t figure out if leading is ok to take. There are too many negative reviews. I got the same negative reviews when I was switching from Watson to Teva. You were the only one that helped me. I can’t find your post about that, I wanted to revisit it again. That would reassure me since I have to switch again. Thank You.

Re: Richard (# 15) Expand Referenced Message

You saved me when I switched from Watson to Teva. You made some great statements about how the medication worked. I wish I could find your post. I couldn’t done it without your help. I have to switch to leading but the reviews are terrible. I’m hoping you can help me again. I have a phobia when it comes to pills. I hope to hear from you. Thank You.

Re: Richard (# 15) Expand Referenced Message

I mentioned before that I have a pill phobia (due to trauma.) My mind goes into panic mode with any type of pill change. I can’t even take Vitamin D because I’m so scared it might cause mania. My vitamin D levels are so low they’re basically non existent. I only have until tomorrow to make a decision about leading lorazepam. According to many people, there isn’t any active ingredient in it. How can they sell it and how can anyone take it? I close my eyes and all I think of is a solution to this. I don’t know whether to take it or not. I’m going to the well one more time. Richard can you or anyone please help me? I consider everyone on this site brave beyond belief. Good luck in your quest. Thanks again Richard.

Re: Russ (# 528) Expand Referenced Message

Russ, the worst that can happen is the pill doesn’t work. I would take the new generic while you still have some of the old that work to take if the new fails. Then call your doctor and your choices are a) see if he can get your insurance approved for brand Ativan (preferred) or brand Loreev XR (once a day delayed release lorazepam), b) have you doctor prescribe a different benzodiazepine.

Re: Russ (# 528) Expand Referenced Message

Not sure if there is another Richard here...there was, I believe thats why I switched to "Richard H". But as far as lorazepam goes...please don't be swayed by opinions here....ALL generics have the active ingredient...its the fillers the different manufacturers use the either lessen effectiveness or inhibit the full effect of the active ingredient. As a lorazepam user for over 40 years....and about 5 different generics - none work as good as the name brand- at least not the Wyeth name brand.. I know someone using the current name brand and they say it's awful...but again....everyone responds differently to the fillers.......Even the worst generic didn't come close to not taking it at all (I've been on 2mg 3 x day from the beginning)...there is utterly no doubt when its not working. Ask your pharmacist if he can get another brand generic that may work better for you........many here will tell you its untrue.......but I've found not believing something will work and analyzing every symptom and sensation works strongly against a med working.

You guys must be related. Both of you really were informative and clear when it comes to advice. Of course I’m still tentative but your advice makes sense. I won’t forget you, Thank You.

Re: Russ (# 532) Expand Referenced Message

I need to know if Leading lorazepam is actually working for anyone. I’ve seen all negative reviews. I’m having a hard time with this. With my anxiety and pill phobia, I can’t allow myself to take it unless I know it works for people. Please let me know if it works or ever worked for you. I need some positive feedback. I’m hoping that there are some people that are getting good results from taking Leading lorazepam for anxiety. Thank You

Re: Russ (# 533) Expand Referenced Message

I've had Leading work as well as the present Teva......other prescriptions by other manufacturers not-as-great as the name brand Ativan....but that could be the result of the amount of stress I was under, the fillers they use, OR my imagination which plays a huge part in psychotropic meds.. often when you believe a generic won't work- it simply will not be as effective but the reverse is true. But there is the fact that some people are affected by the fillers used by different companies..not that the fillers are harmful but they 'might' prevent the patient from feeling the full effect of the active ingredient. There have been times over the years when my prescription has been filled with Leading and I thought OMG what am I going to do......other times its been filled with Leading and I thought "THANK GOD". So it really depends on state of mind. I am sure there are many on this forum who will rebut this...but I've never heard of one turning down their prescription and staying off lorazepam until they got it from the manufacturer they desired. As things stand now in the marketplace around me-despite the fact that Leading Co. is literally around the corner from mr- Teva is the only available brand in every pharmacy around me.

Re: Russ (# 533) Expand Referenced Message

if you still have watson leave it first. you can try leading or teva. If you're not comfortable with either, you can still take your Watsons. you can still see your doctor. leading pills have a sweet taste but they are not as effective as watson's. but each person may be different. it could also work for you

Anyone using Aurobindo?

I feel like each refill is random - some work for me and some are not good at all (bitter taste and withdrawal symptoms).

Is there any way to get a consistent good product?

Re: Lex (# 535) Expand Referenced Message

Watson was wonderful before 2014 when they were bought out by Actavis... I noted a bit of a difference but Actavis also bought the molds from Watson and kept printing "Watson" on their (Actavis) lorazepam (this told to me by a pharmacist)...the letters were a bit fuzzy compared to real Watson and a minute shade lighter in shade of white. Then Actavis announced they would be putting their own mark on their molds...next thing I knew Actavis lorazepam was bought by Teva. Teva said they used the identical formula that the original Watson used.....when it was made in Israel.....however when Teva began being made in the Czech Republic I thought I had been noticing a difference... Could have been my imagination or maybe the formula (fillers) were changed. I have no idea.

Re: amy55 (# 523) Expand Referenced Message

Teva doesn't work as well for me. Causes a little more anxiety at times which can cause aggravation for me. That doesn't necessarily mean it will for anybody else. As I said the silver lining is it lasts longer in my system. Hope that helps.

Re: Richard H (# 537) Expand Referenced Message

hi Richard, I like all your writing, because you are very experienced in medicine. i never used watson at first. which I use already from actavis. is there any news for the new lorazepam? you're a lucky person to be able to use lorazepam from anywhere. I don't understand why the generic drug lorazepan at the start of taking it felt like I needed an adjustment. because at first I felt bad drinking, different from the brand name

Re: Lex (# 539) Expand Referenced Message

Only experienced a bit with lorazepam and name brand Ativan ... i started on the name brand in 1983. I had heard that one would need more and more over the years to maintain the same effect. That didn't happen to me. Years later I found out about 5-6% of ativan users never needed more... i consider myself extremely fortunate....but then i did start on a rather heavy dose to begin with....6 mg a day....40 years later still the same. The are a plethora of long term side effects though....had i to do it over I would have opted for meditation, yoga and EXERCISE...... keep in mind- fillersvare used along with the active ingredient.....every company seems to change tge fillers (even when Wyeth stopped making the name brand (god knows who does now) but apparently the fillers were changed as I know a couple people on name brand and they say it changed _ i am retired and cannot afford name brand which is utterly ridiculously expensive.
