Teva Lorazepam Reviews (Page 21)
UpdatedI'm seeking insights and reviews on Teva Lorazepam and its comparison with Leading Pharma's version. There's a notable divide in user experiences. Some report Leading Pharma Lorazepam as being less effective or having no effect, possibly due to variations in the active ingredient, leading to side effects or adverse reactions in certain cases.
While there are those who recommend Teva Lorazepam for its efficacy, others find Leading Pharma's version more suitable. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to try Teva Lorazepam since it's not available in my area – no local pharmacies dispense it.
My experience with other brands, post the discontinuation of Qualitest, hasn't been successful in finding a comparable alternative. I'm particularly interested in understanding how Teva Lorazepam and Leading Pharma's lorazepam differ in terms of effectiveness and user satisfaction.
If you've had experiences with either or both of these medications, your reviews would be incredibly valuable. Any insights into their efficacy, side effects, or overall satisfaction would greatly help me and others in our decisions.
Re: joe (# 400)
hi jo, i am the same, only actavis is working fine for me. Is the one from bangkok the Ativan brand or the generic version?
Re: Lex (# 401)
It was the generic. About 8 years ago I went to another hospital in. Thailand Nd got about 5 lorazepam 1 MG and those did nothing. Took all 5 and it did nothing.
The drug companies can't make money in 3rd world counties. They are not going to provide quality products where they can't make money
Re: joe (# 400)
Insurance won't cover name brands
Re: Joe (# 402)
Funny seems the US has the same attitude about what they give us. Highly doubt we're getting the correct amount of active ingredient in most of our meds. One of the things that bother me is the active ingredients that we get come from China. They have no love loss for us. Folks getting rich while we suffer.
Re: Joe (# 403)
The fda says what is and is not “brand name”. They use it like a curse.
Re: Jibbs55 (# 398)
Yes, lowering the active ingredients usually results in people using alcohol to pad out the inconsistency.
Re: Sgonedes1977 (# 406)
Drinking alcohol on any drug like this would be completely foolish. Those who do put a damper on us that don't. Causing doctors not to want to prescribe them. That's where the whole deal started with the stigmatism. High profile individuals abusing benzodiazepines along with drinking and using other illicit drugs. Not a wise comment to use in this thread. Or wise to do it as said above. Peace y'all
Re: Jibbs55 (# 407)
Yeah, I’m going to have to agree with Jibbs55. The day I started taking Benzos is the day I quit drinking and I’ve been sober almost 17 years. Doc warned me how dangerous it is to mix benzos with anything, especially alcohol. With Watson/Actavis going out of the Benzo business, trying to switch to other Benzos with them having the stigma of being a ‘party’ drug and the like and then you mentioning crossfading does make docs more reluctant to prescribe them.
Re: Sgonedes1977 (# 405)
Has anyone here had any experience or luck getting Pfizer Lorazepam? It’s supposed to be available as a generic and I have never come across it. Seems like all pharmacies are either solely selling Leading or Teva. :-(
Re: Michael (# 409)
I'm not sure if Pfizer's authorized generic (Greenstone) actually makes Lorazepam. At least not according to their product chart. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Re: Jibbs55 (# 407)
Taking away someone’s medication is simply cruel. If you want to die with morals I say you go first next time.
Re: Michael (# 409)
Do you have a date of use and visual? I’ve taken lorazepam at many hospitals, the dates and places are just recollections these days…
Re: Sgonedes1977 (# 411)
While I agree taking away this medication is cruel, I'm thinking me saying it's not wise to drink while using benzodiazepines triggered your response. Whether I get what you said it's still not something anyone should try. Most of us are in the same boat here taking a lorazepam.
Re: Roy (# 410)
I think this is the confusion. A quick search shows Pfizer makes intravenous lorazepam but not tablets

I’ve only seen online: https://labeling.pfizer.com/ShowLabeling.aspx?id=14805
Re: Lou (# 2)
I agree Leading is a placebo. I wish these mfg. would stop trying to cut corners with the proper ingredients and put the right formula in. Maybe they show cut the big bucks that are paid to higher ups and not take it out on peoples medication.
Re: Twig7 (# 4)
I agree. It’s all about dollars and cents.
Problems with name brand Ativan
I switched from Actavis to the name brand and did OK-ish. I noticed when the lot changed over from one expiring in 4/23 to one expiring in 11/24 I did a bit worse but hung on, and by then was taking Zyprexa as needed which helped take the edge off the benzodiazepine tolerance symptoms.
The pharmacy, without me realizing it, reverted back to giving me the one expiring 4/23 for a month, and I had been eating and sleeping unusually well for me and barely taking Zyprexa. I hadn't even noticed the lot number change on the bottle.
I only noticed this month when it switched back to the 11/24 expiration lot (lot 22B004P) I had nearly instant withdrawal: lack of sleep, lack of eating, and I went back on the Zyprexa and still haven't been eating. I wish I had kept some of the older lot to compare with but had used it all up, but I am quite sure it was that change. The pharmacy is supposed to put medicine from different lots in different bottles but overlooked that and put 10 from the previous lot (the 4/23 lot) in with the other 80. So I have 10 of the old ones, but don't know which is which. In the mean time been taking some old generic Aurobindo I had and not doing great on it. Bausch was not helpful at all. I wrote to ask if they knew if they had switched manufacturing sites or API suppliers or if they could assist with a replacement. They are incredibly rude for a product that costs $3,800 per month. I don't know what else it could be. I was thinking my lorazepam issues were sort of over for now. I wasn't waking up needing to take it right away. I'd go get tea and breakfast first. I noticed I was stretching out the time between doses. Was eating well, sleeping well. And I go from that to horrible symptoms. I wonder if the older one I was getting was when they were making it in Germany or they're both from their factory in Canada. I used to get the boxes and manufacturer bottles with my prescriptions so that I could tell, but I don't anymore so I have no idea and Bausch won't even answer a simple question like that. You can't even tell from the prescribing information sheets anymore. And the pharmacies are too overwhelmed to answer questions (the ones near me are so overwhelmed and overstaffed they shut down the drive-thru's and close early and turn off their phones). It seems like I was on an unusually good lot and got used to it and now am having bad withdrawal again. The difference in expiration date is 19 months between the two lots. In 19 months during the pandemic, I imagine they had supply chain issues and likely switched API suppliers.
Re: Michael (# 415)
Has anyone had such trouble with the generic lorazepam that they have switched to another benzo? I switched to Xanax and immediately had palpitations, increased no, basically a 3 hour panic attack. I only felt better as the Xanax got metabolized. I have about a week left of Watson/Actavis and leading game me the same panic and Teva felt like it was Closing my throat for 3 hours. I have worried so much after 18 years of taking Watson, and my safety net of lorazepam is one week away from complete erosion.
Re: Michael (# 419)
I've tried teva and leading. it is not effective for me. Aurobindo is slightly better but not as good as Actavis. I also still use actavis at this time. but supplies will also run out. maybe someone here knows the solution and can tell me
