Testoserone Ill Side Effects

hi , I started in depot testosterone last summer . Not doctor prescribed ok . Aside from that I am 64 and working out with little results . I took a 1/4cc shot every week for 3 weeks and felt great . I then upped it to a 1/2 cc dose and the second week of that i started having panic attacks at night . Very severe . Very agitted . I went to a doc at critical care and told him . he said get off it of course and I did . he gave me something to slow me down . about a week later I was ok . I looked around for a doc to help me with it and they all wanted big bucks . i waited a month and went back to the 1/4 cc dose two times a month to be safe . This went on for 2.5 months and last week I took the dose and got a headache followed by depression followed by anxiety . I stopped and after a rough week I am still having symptoms . Not as intense as the first time though . I talked to some guys at the gym who are taking it and none of them are having these problems at a much higher dose . I had blood work done last summer and I am very healthy as a rule . I dont understand why i am having symptoms and others are not . I cant afford to go to a doctor who wants about 300 per month to monitor this .anyway thanks

You may be having the symptoms, because you don't actually need testosterone supplementation. If your levels are normal, or already high, it can cause such problems.

And comparing yourself to others using it is actually never a good idea, because everyone is different and can react to it differently.

Some of them may be low in it, so they don't have the bad reactions to supplementing it, or they may just not experience the side effects of doing so.

thanks , kind of what it is looking like here . I guess it puzzled me because these guys are not as old as I am and taking a cc a week . I am 64 . I guess I will cut it back even more . Maybe to 14cc per month and see . I do appreciate the input . John

You might just be a different person as far as chemical make up andyour body dont need it. My boyfriend takes testosterone pill form and his doctor says its nothing to mess with and that only a doctor should administer it so I would be very careful in case it could cause some kind of a reaction taking too much. Not everyone is alike and my boyfriend had to be tested for low testosterone levals before they would give it to him, so sounds to me like it could be dangerous to mess with and you really need to be low on it before you take it. You need to be checked for low testosterone levals first before taking it. It can be very dangerous. The headaches and anxiety are probably from withdraw from taking too much and then backing off of it somewhat. Not every man at your age needs it and these younger men are playing with fire cause they could end up with real problems in the end, too scary for me to see anyone doing this to their body without a drs advice and testing first. They were going to give my boyfriend a cream form to put on his chest and told him it was very dangerous as it could get on me if I cuddled up to his chest in bed or hugged him without a shirt. dr said it could cause me real problems to the point of very dangerous and my boyfriend said no cream for him he will take pill form. He would not take any chances on that cream form. He could have taken a shot form too but then you have to go to the Dr every week and he said thats too much of a hassle thats why he takes the pill form also. . Good Luck.

thanks , I am not going to take it again . I have learned my lesson . Still having symptoms . They are diminishing though . I appreciate the replies

I am so glad you are not taking it anymore. My boyfriend is 60 and was tested for low testosterone and the older men in his family for some reason get low testosterone in there fifties to sixties age wise. He was tested and was very low, his borther was tested and was very low, his nephew was tested and was very low also, so they are all 3 on testosterone meds. I have not done much research but I will do some and see what too much testosterone will do to you, I would be afraid of a heart attack or something but not sure if taking too much would cause that or not, but I do know that his Dr said not to mess with the stuff. it interesting that I know guys at the gym that are taking a cc a week .One much younger than myself . funny how such a small amount seems to set me off . It is two weeks now . I am still having symtoms . They diminish a little each day . I dont want to do this again
