Temaril P Shelf Life

Does Temaril P have a specific shelf life? The one I have for my dog is from 2 years ago, but the bottle doesn't have an expiration date. I was needing to know if it's still good after 2 years?

Yes, all medications have a limited shelf life, even those intended for veterinary use.

The general rules are…

Liquids are only good for approximately 10days, if refrigerated.

Tablets that have been placed into a dispensing bottle, such as something you may receive from your vet or pharmacy, are good for one year from the date you receive them.

Tablets that are still sealed in the original factory container usually have a shelf-life of about 3 years, until that seal is broken and they are exposed to the elements.

Not all medications become dangerous past the expiration, but they can lose effectiveness, so they become virtually worthless if they get too old. But there are some that do get dangerous and I have to admit that I do not have much knowledge about canine medications, so I'd have to say that it's not worth the risk and they should just be thrown away.
