Teva 30mg Vs Aurobindo Pharm Amphetamine Salts (adderall) (Page 3)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

For several years I've taken TEVA 30mg Amphetamine Salts 2x daily with consistent positive relief. Focus and a feeling that I could have a productive day gave me a reason to get out of bed. On 8/21/2014 all that changed to nervous anxiety filled days staying home. What caused the dramatic change quickly became clear. The generic Adderall produced by AUROBINO PHARM which my regular CVS Pharmacy filled my RX with on 8/21 was less than effective it was exasperating the very symptoms for which it was prescribed. FDA is an ineffective bureaucracy controlled by lobbyists for foreign and domestic pharmaceutical companies making huge profits in generic drugs at the expense of the health and quality of life of others. The manufacturing of inferior or possibly harmful medications by greedy corporations will continue to grow until a strong GOOD DRUG coalition is formed. Tomorrow I know I will be calling my pharmacy, CVS Corporation, my Dr., and make a report to the FDA. I will also try my damnedest never to purchase a drug produced by AUROBINDO PHAR.

You have obviously never consumed one of the Aurobindo poison pills have you? When I take the TEVA brand the medication works as it should. When I take the Aurobindo brand I feel anxious, nausiated, I have a headache, feeling of intense anxiety, fatigue and there is no medicinal affect, oh and I break out in hives and have to take a $1,000 antibiotic to counter the reaction. So yes, there is something wrong with the Aurobindo pills!

I think most of you are so focused on what you have " heard" you are focusing on the Aurolife to be ineffective, so instead of taking it & going about your day, the addict in you ( most of us have one) is waiting to " feel" a high. If you focus that much on any medication & expect negative symptoms, you'll give yourself a headache worried about it & essentially can make anything what you've been told to believe. Different pharmaceutical companies all have different ways of making & distributing their meds, but they all have to meet the FDA requirements of what goes in a 10 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, etc. Have you ever thought other pharmaceutical companies are putting just a little more of the ingredients that make it ""addictive " so that people will feel this way? We all know Big Pharmas are going down for doing this. Maybe the generics you say " suck" are actually giving you the dose it says & the 1 or 2 that give you that better " high" or faster or longer euphoric feeling or whatever it is that you take adderall for, put just a little more in some batches & are doing exactly what they set out to do. Every company has to have the required amount it says , I doubt a huge company would risk putting anything less or different, as it can be randomly tested by anyone at anytime. I do however think some may put a little extra "whatever" in , on some huge shipments & trick you just enough to thinking they are the " best" Its a gimmick alot of Big Pharmas are paying out their ass for now & being shutdown and even owners facing prison. So to think that a company is going to risk everything to short what is " supposed " to be the amount of each ingredient is ridiculous. I think it would cost alot more to try & not put the dosage it is supposed to. Think about it, they have nothing to gain and everything to lose, & I'd love to see people given an " adderall challenge " where you don't know what brand your being given & see if you can tell the difference without knowing & already having a formed opinion. Just my personal opinion.

My pharmacy was Precribes me Tevo manufacturer 30 mg Adderall. I have noticed after receiving Aurobindo with the imprint u31 on them. I was wondering why I was getting headaches, sleeping, irritable and had no energy to even walk to the mailbox. United States will obviously accept drugs into our country from anywhere and we as patients aren't told a thing except their all the same but this is a LIE! AUROBINDO ADDERALL GENERIC IMPRINTED, U31 are manufactured in India and are in no way the same as Tevo.

Everybody's body it's going to react differently medications I have tried just about every generic adderall and the only one that really works for me is that Aurobindo, and now I can't even find that anymore, just because one generic doesn't work for you it doesn't mean that it's not going to work for somebody else, so we calling them is not really the answer but the answer is we should be able to call ahead and get the prescription Adderall that works for us

Yep same with Rite Aid. I have recently added “Aurobindo made medications” to my allergy list everywhere, but last year I switched to a mom and pop pharmacy and they put “no Aurobindo” in my profile. It’s not just their Adderall. Rite Aid gave me their Zofran and it gave me serotonin Syndrome symptoms. My jaw and tongue were having weird spasms. Generic medication can vary up to 20% in active ingredients from the name brand, stronger or weaker. But I think there’s crossroads or something weird in their adderall. It makes me sick.

In total agreement. I even asked cvs to only supply Teva for my acct. They said they don't have any control over what mfr they're distributor ships. We are screwed.

I think that we are the only people that feel like Aurobindo is the best Adderall on the market. I take 2 30mg Aurobindo Adderall IR a day and I am very focused, can stop and think before making any impulsive decision, and being a woman, the bonus was that I lost 40lbs in 4 months. Honestly, with the weight loss, I ate normally, but I believe that it being a stimulant and finally being productive and getting all of the things done that needed to get done, really helped my situation. I am probably one of the only people that feels as if Teva is the s****iest Adderall on the market. If I wanted to be able to feel focused and productive aka normal, I would probably have to take handfuls of that s*** multiple times a day.

I prefer the Aurobindo/Aurolife over the Teva manufacturer. I do not get the feeling of not getting enough air in my lungs as I do when taking the Teva manufacturerbrand of Adderall. Aurobindo works great for my focus and quality of life and I do not get the dry mouth as I do on Teva. What I find is, what manufacture brand works for one doesn't necessarily mean it works for everyone. Each manufacturer may use a different filler in their pill. All medications don't work for everyone. Some people are sensitive to different medications and fillers. It's like one size dosen't fit all. Many people may buy the same brand of jeans however of this many, they all may wear different cuts and sizes.

I've been only filling with teva. It's it's not the same as it used to be years ago when it was barr but it still seems to be better than the other available brands. The CVS I usually fill my scripts at always seems to be out of all brands and so I've been getting teca at rite aid. CVS seems to always be out of everything and stocking cheaper brands. I waited 4 days last time I dropped my Klonopin script off there because the kept telling me it will be in tomorrow then it will be in later today. I now get my Adderall at rite aid and drive 45 minutes each way to fill another script because CVS won't order the brand I prefer. It was a pain before but it's turning it's a complete nightmare.

Re: ADHD (# 202) Expand Referenced Message

I have been switching between Teva 30mg and Aurobindo 30mg.

This month (today) I picked up the Aurobindo 30mg at CVS.

To my surprise this batch was way more potent and therapeutic than previous months. As a matter of fact, I could of split this pill into (2) 15mg . I mean, wow, these are definitely the newest batch as last month they had no Aurobindo.

So my question is did Aurobindo "step it up" with their recent $900 million acquisition of Sandoz generic and dermatology?

Perhaps the strategy was to make a more effective pill knowing the FDA (and others) would be crawling up their rears with these acquistion.

In any event, I am happy I chose Aurobindo this month....but as we all know, everyone reacts differently to a med.

Good luck.

Had a few scripts filled with Aurobindo, never had a medical problem with them. I prefer Teva pills since they taste better and feel higher quality.

Re: James (# 197) Expand Referenced Message

So, go onto the FDA website, and file the complaint, using this website for reference. I did. I think I will file it again and again until whomever monitors the site decides to say something. But, I can't be the only one.

Re: James (# 197) Expand Referenced Message

Absolutely right! It's unbelievable how poor alot of the generic medications coming out now are. It's criminal! If I get prescribed a medication and get it filled I'll most likely will get a crappy verion of what the name brand was and people are suffering because of this I'm sure.

Re: Bobby (# 196) Expand Referenced Message

Here is how it works: when a generic company decides it would like to manufacture and distribute a brand-name medication, they are required to conduct testing.

Invariably, they only recruit very few individuals in their testing, sometimes less than 10. This is obviously very poor external validity measurement

The purpose of these tests are to determine bio-equivalency.

The results are not made public to anyone but the FDA. In other words, the FDA must “take their word” that the testing protocol had proper external and internal validity measures. They must show that their product with a 95% confidence, is plus or -20% Bio equivalent to that of the brand name

There should be a third-party that reviews testing measures that these generic companies use. Moreover, results should be made public.

Then, if they can show bio-equivalency, invariably the FDA will approve.

Now here is the scary part.

The FDA does a profoundly poor job at inspecting these sites to determine if what they stated is actually what they are producing.

Horrible!

I can't believe how crappy all of these have become. Even the best of them are garbage compared to a few years ago. They used to be so much stronger! I was off of them for 4 years and when I left off I could take a small second daily dose and always felt it. Now I can take double my first dose amount and feel nothing. I even can barely feel my first dose of the day. It's crazy how much stronger they were.

Re: James (# 97) Expand Referenced Message

There is no longer a brand name generic IR available. Only extended release has a brand name. There is not an authorized generic available for IR either. It ha's become a inferior medication that is not monitored or regulated at all by FDA and is produced by several manufacturers. TEVA has become the mass distributed generic IR for the large chains such as Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, etc. It has also become the worst quality with zero effectiveness. It's is a sugar pill.
