As a brief background - I have very advanced Degenerative Disc Disease, along with bad arthritis/spurs/nerve damage - all in my neck. 5 of the 7 discs are in terrible shape - I've been told by several doctors that it is very advanced for my age (34). I've been through a great deal of pain management including massage therapy, physical therapy, chiropractors, injections and procedures on my neck. Not a whole lot has helped and I'm trying to avoid surgery. For approximately 12 months the pain was managed by my pain management doctor on short acting oxycodone (30mg 3 times per day). Wasn't the best schedule, especially long term, to manage the pain. So I made the decision to get off that dose schedule by switching to suboxone. Exactly 1 month ago I switched to suboxone, tak...
Hi I just moved to NY zip 12020 I have acchs from AZ Medicaid Desperately need help finding a doc ## Hi I am in the same situation in NYC and I am wondering if you found a dr. Please let me know if you did..Thank you ## Please in Long Island, need a doctor that accepts Medcaid.
Hello everyone! I don't drink alcohol as a rule but I had a couple of beers yesterday. I'm on suboxone and was wondering if alcohol adheres to the suboxone or will it be out of my system in a few days? Please, someone tell me. ## Hi Rosie, How are you? If you had say, about three drinks in one hour, my findings suggest that it would probably take your liver roughly 3 hours to metabolize those drinks; even if it's just beer as opposed to hard liquor. Additionally, using suboxone and drinking has also reportedly been linked to severe cases of central nervous system depression, respiratory distress, falling into a coma, and even death. Definitely not something I'd take lightly if you find yourself being pressured to drink when you know you're not supposed to. I hope thi...
My hubby and I started suboxone 9/9/16. Been taking opioids for a few yrs and have a high tolerance. I waited 24hrs before taking the sub. 8mg starting out. It did not help with the withdrawal symptoms... My husband waited 36hrs before taking his (same dose) we both were miserable for 3 days... Taking one 8mg a day and still no relief. Ended up relapsing bc we couldn't take it anymore. Needing help to get back on track. Why didn't the sub help after taking three doses?? How long should we wait before taking the sub again? After we took opioids again we did get relief from withdraw symptoms... ## It would help if we knew how much opiate you have been taking and what exactly it was. For example.... Like 30mgs of IR morphine three times a day for five years. Sub will start to stack...
I just had a titanium rod put in my leg with 3 screws to hold it in place. Needless to say it's been a very painful experience. Prior to the surgery I was on suboxone therapy for about 5 years. It's the only thing that ever worked for me and completely saved my life. I am successful now in life, happy and a productive member of this world!!! I owe everything to this medication. The problem is that my Dr's thought weaning me off of the sub's one week prior to the surgery would be okay and it wasn't. The pain medication did not work very well and I had to take way more to have it even touch the pain. Today I thought maybe my suboxone would help better so I took 2 8mg tablets this morning at 6am. Because I have been off of the subs for 2 weeks would I be able to take my...
I need help getting this medication. Where i can get off Methdone? I'm in despression, please help if you can. ## I'd like to know more about this medication, I've been on more than enough pain meds in my time, I'm tired of them & I'd like to get off of them I'd like to find away to get off of pain meds & get my life back & I'd like to find to find a resalution or help in finding out how to. Thank you. ## I also was addicted to pain meds. and I've now been on the Suboxone Strips for about 3 months, what you may no know is that Suboxone is an opiate inhibitor, with means, while you are on the Suboxone, you will not want a pain pill. After you have been on it for a while, you can make the decision that you want to try to get off of the Suboxone,...
I'm so aware of the returning withdrawal symptoms since I dropped down from 1/2 strip to 1/4 strip of Suboxone. Is it the closer you get to being done with the Subs the stronger the withdrawal symptoms occur? I've been on the 1/4 strip for 8 days now. I haven't been able to sleep, constant turning, weird leg feelings. I don't want to go up a 1/4 as I need off of it! I've been on this crap since end of Feb. when I was detoxed from Fentanyl 25 mcg and Percocet. These were prescribed, after numerous surgeries since 2005. How long will these symptoms of, hot flashes, sleep issues go on? I have to be off of this Subs for 5 days, in order to have oral surgery. It's so unpredictable and scary. Can anyone offer wisdom?? ## Hello, Sula! How are you doing? It usually takes...
Been on suboxone for a while now. 8mg per day. Ran out Friday and got some 15 mg morphine tabs. Took 15 of them over the last 2 days. Took the last 1 at 6 am today. I got a subutex and have never used before. How long do I need to wait to start the subutex. I'll have my script of suboxone in 2 days. ## I believe subutex doesn't have a reaction to the morphine because it has no nalaxone (the opiate antagonist) in suboxone. You should be ok but it seems like your already at a really high dose of morphine. Are you trying to get off it? Why were you on suboxone to start? ## Muscle box and was stolen out of my hotel room. I'm out of town working so I cannot get my script. Couldn't find any Suboxone on the street so I got what I could just not to feel like crap. Never got a eu...
I was put on pain management years ago. I've had many of surgeries and have pelvic neuralgia , bulging discs at L5 and S1, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease and bi-lateral neuralgia. I became addictive 2 the pain meds. And went on methadone. I was on (110) mg. a day. Once I got down 2 (24)mg. I was in such bad w/d I went 2 my Dr. In tears. He gave me 2 choices, stay on the methadone and increase the amount or go on suboxone. I went on the subs that day. I had come down 2 far with the methadone 2 start over, again. My question is: would any Dr. Ever put me on pain management, again? I suffer so severely with pain, I can't take much more. Even if I have 2 let my husband hold them 4 me ang give them 2 me as prescribed. Please, any suggestions may b helpful. ## I work in an...
Hi, my name is Rebecca. I have been using opiates for about 3 years now, but I've only been addicted to opiates for a year now. I say opiates but I go back and forth between opiates and suboxone. For the past year I have been using suboxone almost everyday(supplied by boyfriend) and he does it too. Last week my boyfriend and I went through a nasty breakup and he hasn't been giving me anymore suboxone or using it himself either. We were together 5 years and were happy(I'm absolutely devastated.) snd we also LIVE TOGETHER. however, I could go on about what's been going on in the relationship and how upset I have been, and him just going out and partying like nothing happened, but that's not why I'm typing this. So back to last week, we broke up and quit taking subo...
I've chosen to stop this ride looking for a legit Dr that will stay in practice. So I've, very painstakingly got myself down from 3 morphine 60mg and 3 oxycodone a day to roughly 5 mg broken oxycontin. I have sub's. When can I take it? I don't get nausea, but I've got the headache, the neverendind crawling goose flesh right now. Sweating like... Well you know. I took a fraction of a piece after about 4 hours and an oxycontin 80 cut into 8 pieces then cut again in half. So roughly 5mg. One, does cutting it kill the 12 hour duration of action, and with that when can I take a sub and how much should I take? Pleeaassee, I need help. ## Always wait until you're going through withdrawals then take the suboxone. As far as how much to take, are they prescribed by a docto...
I was an opiate addict for numerous different years and I went to inpatient and outpatient rehab but they never gave me suboxone. The second I got out of rehab I did more opiates, and I did them for another year or so and I tried suboxone and that is what I stuck with. Well it is getting very expensive and I was not getting myself off it very good and now I am pretty much addicted to that. If I can't find suboxone I usually find another opiate to take. My main question is, if I go to an outpatient rehab, is there anyway I could still get suboxone? I want to get off suboxone and other opiates and I do believe this would be the way to do it. Suboxone withdrawl is rough so any thoughts or anything would be appreciated! ## Hi Andy, I don't know how the outpatient clinic type places ...
Hello. I have been on suboxone maintenance for about seven years and recently I was switched to zubsolv due to insurance reasons. My past 2 urine results since being switched have been positive for opiates! However I have not taken any opiates in over five years since my last relapse. I have not taken any cold medicine's or anything else over the counter, nor have I eaten anything containing poppy seeds. I have spent the last week trying to figure out how this could have happened (not once but twice in a row) researching information. Here is what I have found so far - Apparently when u take zubsolv there is an amount of this that you are swallowing, therefore not being metabolized in your body the way it should be; causing a positive opiate result. I do take my dose on the drive to ...
UpdatedI qwent to my drug store to get my prescribed Hysingla, wrong spelling, but I went on Friday, the day I was due and they took my script, and then we won't have this until Monday. What can I expect in the way of withdrawal if any? Would it be safe to take Suboxene for one day until I can get my regular meds? Any info would be greatly appreciated. ## Yes, you may experience withdrawals, which the NIH lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, rebound pain, anxiety, and diarrhea. You should not take Suboxone, unless your doctor approves, because it can block all other medications for 72 hours, and taking it, when you aren't already in full withdrawal could cause you to go into dangerous precipitated withdrawals, according to FDA warnings. Did you try a different ...
I am taking suboxone 8.2 three times a day and my doctor told me this was the maximum dosage, however i am still struggling with terrible anxiety. I have read people take xannax or valium with suboxone. How is that? I didnt think i could ever get that as i am labled an addict by taking suboxone. Thanks for any advise ## Hello, Lorcos! How are you? I'm sorry about your anxiety issues. Your doctor is correct, that is the maximum daily dosage. As to whether or not someone can take benzodiazepines, while being treated with, that is entirely up to the individuals doctor. The FDA classifies Suboxone as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and co...
I'm currently on 32 mg daily of suboxone. I also have been prescribed Clonazepam 1mg. Is it ok/safe to take 1 of the 1 mg Clonazepam with 32 mg of suboxone? I have received mixed answers so I'm hoping I can get a majority of responses that are similar. My main concern is that I will have depressed respiratory function or CNS depression. Any and all answers are welcomed. ## CNS depression is a possibility, if you are taking both of these medications, according to the FDA. However, the doesn't mean they cannot be taken together, if just means that your doctor should be sure to adjust your doses carefully, and they should be monitoring you regularly to try to avoid any potential problems. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'll answer your question first and then yo...
I was in suboxone for almost 2 yrs when i hurt myself bad enough for hip surgery. I told my dr and surgeon that i was taking subs. But neither one told me to stop or anything. So when i had surgery an was in recovery screaming in oain the nurse told me they had given me enoughn to knock an elphant out but it did not relieve pain.it was supose.to be day surgery but I could not get off table due to pain !! I ended up staying the night in hospital i talk with nurse and she was able to give me something that gave a little relieve. I wanted to tell everyone that considers taken suboxone that it dies very little for pain but does good to help you live without pain meds and live a regular live a decent life but it is just swapping one drug for another and if you do ever get hurt in wreck or so...
I take 2 subs a day. I just left the pharmacy and the total price for 60 at walgreens is $613.99. I have a suboxone coupon you can get off the suboxone website. It brought it down to $396.00. I do not have insurance either. What worries me about getting generic is will it cost more since there is no coupon for it as far as I know???... ## Prices for many medications have gotten totally outrageous. You could just ask the pharmacy to compare the prices for you, they shouldn't have a problem doing so. Prices can also vary widely from one pharmacy to the other, so you should check different pharmacies in your area. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Have ...
My friend has been clean for like 9 days now and her doctor prescribed her suboxone after she said her body hurt? Is that the reason? Cause I would love to know... ## Suboxone is prescribed for pain in other countries but here in the states as far as I know it,s only prescribed to treat opiate addiction. The pain your friend is feeling could be from withdrawal. Maybe your friend has other pain issues and also has a pain pill problem and the patient and doctor decided to start suboxone treatment. I,m taking sub for addiction but also have pain issues. the subs help for both problems. Some folks say that subs don,t help there pain at all. I can only say what works for me. ## Dear Kayla, as Jolter said," the pain could b due 2 withdrawals". I'm on suboxone and I suffer from man...
