You can take pain meds after you take suboxone. You just won’t feel the effects of the pain meds until the suboxone is totally out of your system which is around 72 hours. Suboxone has a long shelf life, meaning it will stay in your system a lot longer than pain meds which have a short shelf life.
I took one suboxone 8mg/2mg pill at 3:00 today and it just didn't help with my type of pain. How long do I wait before I can take the Roxicodone 15mg to be in relief of this pain?
I have true pain with all the problems with narcotics. I am not able to get strong enough pain meds. So, every month I run out too soon. I took suboxone for 2 days. 1 full, 1 3/4... How long before I can take my pain meds now that I got to where they work? I took my last one yesterday around 3pm, so today at 3pm will make 24 hours. Since I have not taken the Suboxone for very long do you think I still have to wait 2-3 days to feel effect of my standard pain meds? I am in pain already. Also was in pain when taking suboxone but it actually gave me some pain relief i think. I can feel the difference in pain already. How long before I can start taking my oxycodone?
I have been on pain meds for the last 8/9 yrs, all have been prescribed by doctors, and I was very naive about taking long term pain meds. First was morphine by my primary doc, which I took for about 2 yrs, it did nothing for the pain. I have chronic pain syndrome, fibromyalgia. My old primary doc left to work somewhere else, so with the new doc he was prescribing me the same meds as the other doc which were, xanax and morphine. Finally I was referred to a pain clinic, which they started me on Oxycontin & Oxy TR which did wonders, but then all the laws changed and the docs had to start cutting me back to a legal dosage as they had me taking too much. The pain is real, but I was abusing the oxys, along with the xanax. Long story short, my life started falling apart and I broke the contract by not showing up for a pill count. Instantly I was fired from them, they gave me a prescription to taper off within a month, and as you can guess that didn't work. So I found a new pain doc. They prescribed oxys but less than I was getting before. Going through WITHDRAWALS is the hardest thing I have had to deal with. I couldn't get oxys one time so I took Methadone, which turned up in my U/A and broke the contract again. Now no doctor will help me, so I am now in treatment and taking suboxone. It's going on 3 weeks now and this has been great for the WD and cravings for oxys but the pain is still there, my back and legs hurt like they did before taking pain meds, it has also brought on a lot of anxiety, depression, among other things, only my roommate knows about all this. My roommate doesn't understand why I do what I do. I know it's a habit. If you have done this maybe you can understand, but it's hard to explain. Has anyone else had this problem? If so HELP, how do I overcome this, I feel like I'm missing out!! This is so long, and I am not sure I even came close to explaining myself.
I get 20mg of oxycodone prescribed to me everyday. I was unable to get my prescription until just now, so this morning I took 4mg of suboxone so I wouldn't feel withdrawals. How long do I have to wait to take my oxycodone again and how long will it take for them to work? I took my normal dosage of oxycodone yesterday.
You only need to go into withdrawals then take one Suboxone. Take a second Suboxone the next day and never take anymore. This will get you through the withdrawals painlessly without getting addicted to Suboxone. This is the protocal at the leading Hospitals in the country.
Hi Jolter, how r u doing, I'm fine. Just tired all the time. Think it's the subs and other meds I take.
Yes,Cats right. You gotta be in wds before you take the sub. If you take it too soon you chance whats called precipitated withdrawalls. You DON,T want that to happen.
To be safe wait 16-18hrs.
Hi Willis, u should wait until u r having withdrawal symptoms, b 4 u start the suboxone. It won't work and can make u feel sick if you don't wait. U don't have 2 b in a ball crawled up 2 wait. But, once u start feeling those withdrawals, u will know its time.
