I started Suboxone four days ago. I am taking a whole 8 mg Suboxone twice a day. I also take 45 mg of Adderall a day for ADD and I need the Adderall because I am a college student. Is it harmful to take them together? The Suboxone has done excellent for me, and has kept the Oxycontin out of my mind. I got addicted to tabs when I was playing college baseball in order to play through two broken fingers and bum shoulder. So instead of doing a gut check time dealing with the pain through an ice bucket or taking some time off to heal up, because I was just a freshman and I was battling it out for starting spot with a all-conference senior. I became immune to the tabs, so a player introduced me to Oxycontin. I was taking 80 mg a day. This continued into the fall season of my sophomore year until I tore the ligaments of my throwing hand and had to have surgery. It was a career ending injury and rehab was nine months, during which I received Perocets. I began to stack them with Oxycontin and Adderall. This addiction almost destroyed my life.It almost cost me everything and put my parents through hell, not only physically but also financially cause I used the money they sent me for living expenses to support my habit. They continued to be my rock and never gave up on me. The Suboxone made me feel like life did before Oxy. I am now a junior and with the help of the Good Lord I am getting my life back. I would like to know if the 45 mg of Adderall is safe with the Suboxone? I am having to buy the Suboxone, is there a clinic I can go to that is not rehab to get prescribed or a doctor? What are my options? I went dry for a week but quickly relapsed,but this time I don't care how hard it is. So please any help with my options would be appreciated.

Tapper off 1/4 monthly is how my Dr. says is the safest and most productive way to successfully way to reach your goal. Also, you should start doing this before you get your nursing degree. Being an addict is a fight you will fight for the rest of your life but you can do it. Becoming a nurse will give you access to many drugs and you need to get your addiction under control before you get your degree in nursing even if it means joining a group. These groups are confident so you don't need to worry about the nursing board finding out. WANTING to get OFF that last mg is tough but also says your ready. On tapering down from 4 2mg of Xanax to 2 2mg of Xanax was easy for me by taking 1/4 less each dose. Some days I only take just a 1/4 here and there thru out the day not realizing that I was actually only taking 1 a day. You can do this. Your the only one that truly knows what your body can and can't handle. I know now that I can control the pills and not let the pills control me.

I take both. Adderall 20mg three times daily and gen. Subox 8 - 2mg twice daily . Both are prescribed by my pcp. (Primary Care physician) and I do not have any bad side effects. I take them as directed . There has been several times I've forgotten to take one or two doses a day and I'm fine I just wait til my next dose. Sometimes I feel a little shaky or nauseated but if I do something to keep me busy I get thru it. I also take Xanax 2mg 4x's daily but I usually only take up to 2 a day bcuz I was having trouble getting off the Xanax . You can take the sub and adderall together but I'd only do it under the care of my Dr.

Hi, This post is very old I see but just came across it and wanted to reply to it in hopes it may answer someone else's questions. I have taken both Suboxone and Adderall prescribed by two different docs both being aware I am prescribed both and no complaints from either doc about taking them together. I did not like the irritability and edginess associated with taking Adderall so, only took it sometimes and thankfully never was addicted to it. Only benefit to me was the extra energy to get things done which should tell us all I didn't need Adderall to begin with because it calms a true ADHD patient and does the opposite to a person who isn't really ADHD. Hope this helps answer someone's question out there.

Xannex and suboxen together can kill you!!! The clinic I went to for suboxen treatment gave me a option. Take sub or the xannex but I was not to take them both at the same time. I can't remember exactly why but something about benzo with sub can really be life threatening. Someone even told me I could go to sleep and not wake up. Please consult a suboxen clinic for additional information. Soon as I seen that I really got worried for you!!! Speaking from experience....

Where are you located? I am also on suboxen for opiate abuse, the first dr I ever went to was a private dr who prescribed me suboxen ( 2 film strips a day) and also had me on adderall (10mg 3x's a day) for my add. The medication had no side affects and I was starting to feel like a normal person again and then he up and retired, so the only place I could find was a clinic that will only write a script for the subs saying the adderall dosent go with suboxen....not true because every clinic you call and check they will allow you on different things. Some will let you take your Xanax with your subs some will let you take your adderall with your subs and some won't let you take anything. It's crazy because not only did my private sub dr say I needed to be on adderall but my gynecologist said I did and was willing to write the script till I told him I was on subs, his words to me were they laws have changed and my hands are tied. So I understand and wonder to myself where should I go it's nearly impossibly to find a dr that will nowadays.........I don't leave my house can't hold down a job I'm a complete shut in person now. I'm in Ohio.

My son is an ice addict he was also treated for ADHDwhen young was put on dexemethimen spelling not right anyway he wants to be put on suboxone I not sure on this have heard little about addrill need some advise I do believe his addiction started from ADHD medication he tells me he just wants to be normal I am lost

Please stauly on your Suns until you can go on way to detox I want to wait 20 trunks. The detox 4 days coming off of one and a half and day maybe 5 days it was a quick detox and then I stayed in rehab for 5 days however I did not start getting sick until I got home 12 Days Later and then I'm sure you know what nightmare happens after that so if you avoid the nightmare for yourself don't detox not with school and work going on definitely not yourself don't do it when you are ready take two weeks off and go away thank God I got back on my program and life has been so much better. However i take adderall sometimes and i feel that the subs dont work as well. I HATE COMING DOWN FROM ADDERALL AND SUBS I LEARNED THE HARD WAY. Now i take as prescribed and i am in compliance wth all my groups...QUESTION........does anyone feel subs dont work well on adderrall. I get sicker quicker.wtf

I am 60 and have been taking adderall for 6 years. At this point in my life, I would have to be a garbageman without it. What happens if you don't take adderall one day. You are immediately 'like you were' before being prescribed the medicine. If you take 40mg a day, but decide to take a months worth at one time....well, that would be very bad. I am afraid that 40mg a day does not turn you into a sky-scraper leaping super hero. I just don't understand people who take it and pretend they are addicted to a hard core drug...flying high all the time bro. That is so freaking bogus and a total lie about the drug and what it does. Miss it one day, and I don't accomplish much. That is about it. Are you addictedd to it psychologically? Are you a person who has an addictive personality, prone to problems with alcohol or anything else. Well, that is too bad if that is the case. Good luck to you.

If this helps anyone . I was on you name I took it for about 7 years. Then I found suboxone I was on this for about 5 years up until 3 weeks ago I was on 1-8 mg strip and a 1/4 I was sick of taking it. So I missed my doctors appointment and that was 3 weeks ago. My body is feeling better but I can not think straight I don't if I should wait or if I should go back to taking adderal for add any thoughts.

First and foremost.... congrats on changing your life. I too was hooked on oxys due to a motorcycle accident. After reaching 50+ pills a day....I knew I had to change. To answer your question ...yes there are Docs that will prescribe Subs. Honestly...I just looked in the phone book under opiate dependency. Also....try splitting one strip. Take half in the am....and one in the pm. That initial urge that bugs you in your lower back will fade 10-15min after it dissolves. TRUST ME
