Suboxone And Adderall (Page 4)
UpdatedI started Suboxone four days ago. I am taking a whole 8 mg Suboxone twice a day. I also take 45 mg of Adderall a day for ADD and I need the Adderall because I am a college student. Is it harmful to take them together? The Suboxone has done excellent for me, and has kept the Oxycontin out of my mind. I got addicted to tabs when I was playing college baseball in order to play through two broken fingers and bum shoulder. So instead of doing a gut check time dealing with the pain through an ice bucket or taking some time off to heal up, because I was just a freshman and I was battling it out for starting spot with a all-conference senior. I became immune to the tabs, so a player introduced me to Oxycontin. I was taking 80 mg a day. This continued into the fall season of my sophomore year until I tore the ligaments of my throwing hand and had to have surgery. It was a career ending injury and rehab was nine months, during which I received Perocets. I began to stack them with Oxycontin and Adderall. This addiction almost destroyed my life.It almost cost me everything and put my parents through hell, not only physically but also financially cause I used the money they sent me for living expenses to support my habit. They continued to be my rock and never gave up on me. The Suboxone made me feel like life did before Oxy. I am now a junior and with the help of the Good Lord I am getting my life back. I would like to know if the 45 mg of Adderall is safe with the Suboxone? I am having to buy the Suboxone, is there a clinic I can go to that is not rehab to get prescribed or a doctor? What are my options? I went dry for a week but quickly relapsed, but this time I don't care how hard it is. So please any help with my options would be appreciated.
Hi missy
With the new PPDMP.it seems to be impossible to find a ppc or psychiatrist That will write a script for the sub. Strips and for aderall.
My husband is dealing with this right now. We r so shocked he has been on both medsfor over 8 years..and now they do t want to write for add
Is your pcp with the reading hospital
I took suboxone and ritalin and then I took adderall cause someone stole my ritalin. Now on a u/a will I be ok? Will they come out as amphetamines?
Everything but the first bit is true. Amphetamine DOESN'T break down any opioid--dumbest thing I've ever heard. There is absolutely NO combined mechanism of metabolism between Amphetamine and any opioid. Perhaps you're thinking that amphetamine's stimulating properties negate the narcotic effects of Subs and therefore must break it down? Well that's incorrect. It simply is stimulating. You'll find that the order in which you take certain meds DOES change the feeling. Ex: Benzos before opioids enhance each other while taking a Benzo after an opioid totally kills the opioid euphoria. And all that has to do with the GABA system in the midbrain. There are 2 GABA pathways...1 is part of the internal GP and 1 is part of the external GP. When you increase GABA in the external GP, you're actually creating an ultimately stimulatory effect on the dopamine system through D1 receptor activation. If BZDs were taken second, increased GABA would dimish the effects on the thalamus and motor pathway by decreasing dopamine.
Look, Adderall is way overrated. I've been taking Suboxone 7 years. I took Ritalin before I I was on Suboxone, hated it. You just think you need the Ritalin. Have you tried the suboxone without the Ritalin? ADD is misdiagnosed.. I was misdiagnosed with it. I was always acting up in school, couldn't listen, couldn't sit still. It wasn't because I had a ADD... It was because all I could think about was how to avoid an ass whooping from my father.. My father was a very cruel man.. I found out later from a brilliant doctor, 99% of all children who are diagnosed do not have ADD.. They just have a very bad home life.. If nothing that I've said has made a difference.. I do want to let you know how to get off Suboxone, another tip from This brilliant doctor. This will be an example. Let's say you take 24 milligrams of Suboxone. Take the 24 mg for the first 2 weeks . Then the next two weeks you take 22, then 20, 18, till you're done. You reduce 2 mg of Suboxone every two weeks...

I use to abuse tabs. I took them daily to deal with depression and bipolar so I decided I wanted to take back control of my life. I started seeing a therapist and he prescribed me Citalopram/Celexa to deal with the depression/bipolar. I start going to a methadone clinic which Medicaid pays for my dosage each day and pays for the gas I spend in getting there.... no expense outta pocket. I'm on 50 mg so that's kinda low and you can go down or up depending on how you feel. For the first time in 4 years, I feel like my life is back on track! I spent thousands of dollars on tabs and when I couldn't get any I just wanted to curl up in bed and do nothing, just awful. The depression pills really helped and so does the methadone clinic. People say methadone is worse than taking tabs but I say with the help of therapists and having the option of dosing down when I get ready, plus Medicaid paying for my medicine which is $16 a dose, I'll take that over hundreds of dollars illegally buying pills off the street ANY DAY!
GOOD LUCK TO YOUI hope my message gives you inspiration
Re: Halaluani (# 1)
Hello Hala,, I've had ADHD since I was a little boy but managed to get through grammar, high school and College with a degree in Electronics without Ritalin and Adderall because no one new what it was back then. Also in College I actually made decent grades. I'm not trying to brag but you might get by without it. As far as your pain, I understand about that but one thing I found out is that I thought the more pills I took the better. But in all actuality it was making my pain worse. Doctors will prescribe Subs for pain because mine did it and it helped somewhat. If everything is healed for you and you feel no pain at this point, please try to get professional help such as an addictionologist. It is hard to get off of it by yourself. It seems that you are young because you are in school. If you stay on it for a long time you may develop problems. I think it rotted out my teeth for one.So good luck, I hope the best for you

From my experience Suboxone was the hardest for me with withdrawals. I've never been as dope sick from any opiate as I was from Suboxone; going without it is immediate full on withdrawals like nothing else I've experienced on Oxycontin, Methadone, Oxynorm, Codeine & pretty much any opiates and/or substitute they have available in Australia. Just a heads up - coming off 8mg/ 2 times a day is quite a bit compared to oxy but you build a tolerance much quicker on Suboxone I think. They reduce by half a mg every week or two weeks. From then they normally put you on subutex. It's the same as Suboxone just without the Naloxone. They also make a 7day Transdermal patch you can wear when your dose starts to get really low; pretty much the end of needing to dose that release up-to 20 micrograms per hour for 7 days... I personally left one on longer than that because it was my last patch and I was scared of going through withdrawals!!! Suboxone/Subutex - "Buprenorphine" is the actual ingredient. Just be careful when reducing and make sure you have a Dr that can prescribe and help you reduce. Like I said, the couple days I went without was absolute hell.
Re: NurseK33 (# 8)
I have been on Adderall 30mg for 7 years instant release and I took them like prescribed for the most part sometimes I would just take one a day other days I would take 2 but I stopped taking them for a bit and never had a withdraw from them I don't know if im lucky or what but I've been on Roxy for years and I have withdraw problem if I don't have them now I'm taking subs that I got from a friend to help with the withdraw symptoms and I'm taking 1mg a day I'm still slightly having withdrawals but want off the hold the oxys have on me I have never been one to do any kind of drugs not given by a Dr all I can say is don't abuse it and try to go a day or 2 a week without it and if there is a chance you will be hooked on it maybe that will lower it I'm A.D.D it don't do nothing for me but calm my racing thoughts down a bit and energy wise it don't seem to help with for me but most people it makes them speed a bit like I said I'm a bit different than most so that is my experience with it and not sure if it helps or not but thought you might get something out of this to help with your decision and question
Omg u r too young for this! My advice is for u to run!!! Taper off the suboxone and adderall if used long-term they r like poisen for ur body!!!! So so hard to get off Do it now while u r young and have a full clean life to live!
I do not advise you to take Suboxone and Emma’ I do not advise you to take Suboxone and Adderall’s together it makes you dizzy give you a headache and it makes you want to vomit all over very disgusting don’t do it if I were you I tried it and it was no good
Re: ParknSons (# 63)
Such a great answer & on point, too!! You are either well educated on this topic or you've done your research!
Re: Kimberly (# 15)
If you're buying it illegally then you are technically abusing it.
My brothers do not fool yourselves. Yes it feels good, but you got absolutely no clue about suboxone. It's not like heroin or methadone. It is a man-made chemical. I have tried now for years and I can't seem to get down past 8 mg because I have to work everyday, and when you try to drop too quickly you cannot perform.
I've been on it for over 20 years and my brain shut down and does not make its own natural painkillers anymore. If you took away my Suboxone at 56 years old I would go into cardiac arrest even though I workout everyday. I take Suboxone and Adderal with Klonopin. They prescribed me Klonopin because I was getting anxious. I asked for Adderall due to fatigue. No question, they wrote me a script. I've got 15 or so years of documents of all the medications I was prescribed by all the doctors not once ever telling me it's time to wind down. I believe the protocol on Suboxone is after 6 months.
People don't realize once they start Suboxone, if they don't get off in 6 months you're going to spend many many many years. Do yourself a favor and get off this Suboxone. Go easy with your Adderall and get off everything. When you hit 50 you'll realize "I've been doing this since I was mid to late thirties and now I'm pushing 57 I can't get off it". But knowing or no doctor ever told me I think year after year after year after year. Suboxone and Klonopin are downers while Adderal is legal speed balls. God help me find a lawyer to compensate me because I don't know how much strength I'll have left. I cannot live without it or I will die. Now who's going to pay for keeping me on this? Yes I went to the doctor, but they should know better. Goodness gracious.
Re: Larry (# 37)
Hi there! I also had gastric bypass and am taking 24 of subs and just restarted my adderall at 20mg 2 times daily and it works perfect for me. I also have klonopin if in dire need.
Re: WILLIAM (# 74)
Completely agree and on the same combo.
Re: Nicole (# 52)
Wish I could help because I’m on that exact cocktail prescribed by one doctor and it’s helped so much
Hey! So I take 24 mg of suboxone a day and 50 mg of adderal a day.. for the past 4 years with exception to my pregnancy where I wasn’t allowed the adderal only the suboxone.. I’ve never had any problems.. I’d just be careful because there is another chance of a crazy addiction within these two things.. but other than that you should be fine!!
Re: Jlee (# 16)
