Suboxone Chat Room (Page 2)

I have now been on suboxone for a year, I got on it when I found out I was pregnant last January 2013 and I had my beautiful healthy daughter in August 2013 I used to be on subutex during my pregnancy but once I had my daughter I was switched to suboxone. I am on 2 1/2 strips a day and my doctor has been wanting to lower my dose however I have so much going on that I am really nervous to do so. I have lately been dealing with my daughter on my own her father just didn't show me the respect I deserved and he wasn't willing to work to support our daughter so we separated and now I am left on my own with all the finances out daughter and looking for employment which this all just recently happened since the last time I saw my doctor on top of that my daughter has medical issues due to her throat not developing correctly during my pregnancy so we have multiple doctor visits for her monthly and she has special feeding rules and medications to take so I am very overwhelmed. My doctor seems to be harder on me then his other patients some who have been on suboxone for 5+ years so this is making me very nervous to ask him to up my dose from 2 1/2 to 3 strips a day. Does anyone have any advice? I've really been trying to stick it out but I just feel like an emotional wreck and like my body can't take the stress. Please I need advice! How should I ask my doctor to up my dose?

I've only been on Suboxone for 10 weeks at 24mg. Since starting Suboxone I've had more anxiety and panic attacks than ever. 2 1/2 weeks ago I dropped down to 20mg and tomorrow I'm going down to 16mg. I hope you found the answers you were looking for. I'm wondering if anyone has advice for tapering off suboxone?

Good for you congratulations on the daughter! Honey I would try to get off of the Suboxone as quick as possible! It's a wonderful drug that saved my life but becoming addicted to it is no fun when you go off do it safely with your care provider but they're telling me it might be a lifelong prescription which kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it lol

I went to diet dr in past, got same thing- my Suboxone doctor was fine with it at first ( I asked beforehand) ; but the following month he acted like he had NO IDEA I was going to be taking it ( Adipex) and he told me not to get anymore of it filled if I want to stay on Subs. That was the end of the diet dr for me!! My advise is to tell your Sub doc ASAP so he does not think you are trying to " get one over on him" - Good Luck!

I’m wondering if anyone else has been in the situation I’m in... I’m on subs 2mg a day.. I went to a diet dr today and got adipex.. they didn’t ask many questions. I was planning on not taking it until after I go to my sub doctor bc I take a U/A every month.. I planned on just taking the adipex here and there to help me lose weight and stopping taking them before I would go to my next sub appointMent. So... now I’m worried that when I go to get my subs filled next week they’re going to see in their database that I’m on the diet pills and not want to fill my script. does anyone have experience with a situation like this?

My suggestion would be to find another doctor who understands and who will keep you on the suboxone.

You don't need to up your dose you just think u do or you want to make something off them. I was on black tar for ten years faithfuly. I could do enough at one time to kill 3 regular people. All I was taking for the last two years I was on it was a quarter a strip a day and I work 12 hour shifts. I suggest you get up and move around more and stop trying to be high that ruins it high is a mind thing try and focus on forcing it you'll never have it just get on with life and you'll notice it's there and man it's stronger than I thought.

I've taken all of the different Suboxone tablets and the only ones that do not work are "970". Well they do, just not as well, but just have the worst taste and "AN 415" and "54 375" are exactly the same. I would say personally the best are pink with "8".

It's the easiest thing ever. I got on Subutex cuz of my allergies which was very bad w hives rashes from naloxone so I switched as a guy. It's so much better but I take 2 , 8mg pills ...one in morning and one at night and it works wonders . I love it.

I realize this is an old post, but in case someone else wants to know; your dr. Cannot make you pay a specific way for your prescription, and that is not fraud if you use Your insurance to pay for your prescription!

Hi, I realize this post is old, but maybe someone will stumble upon it as I did and will read what I have to say about your situation with Suboxone. You are not alone in the situation you find yourself in. Let me just say......Suboxone has saved many lives, including my own life. I took Suboxone for many years and it took me a very long time to realize a person does not need anymore than 1 Suboxone a day. Less is more. After that 1 Suboxone, the others are pretty much wasted. You are not going to get high or feel any type of euphoria taking Suboxone. Many people believe wholeheartedly that they need more & more to function. This is false. It's the psychological part of it that has you feeling this way. I can promise you......you do not want to take more than you are already taking. Honestly, in my opinion.....you are already taking too high of a dose. I'm living proof that 1 Suboxone strip is sufficient for almost everyone taking Suboxone.

I have been on it for 10 years. I vowed on my Dad’s death bed o would stop taking the 10 hydros at a time. I was on strips.
I am now on subutex because iof my seizure history.
3 / 8 MF strips is a LOT. They won’t make u feel any better as the med has a ceiling.
I am on 2/ 8 mg tablets that disolve. Enough fir me especially when Ion long term.

Do not up it if using past point of detoxing!! Not worth the hassle. Plus you’ll look drug seeking. Which is exactly what it is. They have found optimal dose to be 16 mg.

Hope this helps and good luck

Who in the hell do you think you are? You shouldn't judge. You're not her you know nothing about her situation but only what she has told us. There's only one judge and it's not you. You're rude and crude. And you responded to a really old post. lol

What the hell us wrong with you?! Yeah no wonder your daughter has throat issues because mom was selfish AF and couldn’t quit her addiction for 9 months. Jesus Christ what doctor let you stay on this while pregnant?! I had an issue with opioids, 2 weeks on zubsolv and I was done. There’s absolutely NO REASON you need to be on this as long as you have. You are one selfish mother. No sympathy here.

I have been on pain pills for 14 years. They put me on suboxone 4mg / 1 mg strips 3 times per day. I still have pain and I always have an upset stomach.

I hope someone told you the dangers of taking Xanax while on Suboxone; they both depress your breathing

Re: Pete (# 47) Expand Referenced Message

Pete, I placed myself on Suboxone and I very carefully lowered my dosage every seven days by halves, until I was taking slithers of Suboxone. I am now opiate and Suboxone free. In my experience, you need to cut down slowly and carefully. You can do this!

Re: Virginia (# 41) Expand Referenced Message

Hello.... When I went to my doctor I tested opiates and I also tested Suboxone in my urine (the ingredient of the bupe). And I had told them my sister had been visiting from Florida and she had given me two Suboxone strips and had me wait x amount of hours and then I tried it and that's what made my decision that I wanted to be on the Suboxone and not the opiates any longer. They said they're not the drug police and they don't care what's in your system at all until you start the program - then after that they care. Meaning the only thing that should be in your system after you sign the Suboxone doctors program. Just don't have anything else in your system but Suboxone. So they don't care what's in your system as long as you're honest with them. But I did go around the corner and say my sister had given me the Suboxone. He was okay with it. And on my chart he said I'm not going to put your sister down I'm just going to say you bought them on the street so if anything would ever happen then your sister wouldn't be involved. That was pretty nice actually considering. Try something like that, I hope it helps.
