I have been told that by taking Brainact I can reduce my chances of having a stroke...I am 67 years old and I believe in good health...what would be your recommendation please... Thank you. ## My mom also being told to take this med. She had her first stroke 2 days ago. How this med works?

My mom had a stroke four months ago and she having some pain on her shoulder and hands and some tingling feeling on the left side of her body (damage part of her stroke). Doctor prescribe her with Gabix but did not help at all. WHAT can she take to help her with the pain, she cant sleep well at night.... Can she take Neurogen-E too? Please help. Thank you ## Hello, Larni! How is your mom doing? How long did she take the Gabix and at what dose? That's not an actual analgesic. Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that has been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain, but it will take about 4 to 6 weeks to reach its full efficacy level in the body. What else has she tried? Does she take any other medications?

Yes, but it may make the patient more susceptible to heat and sunlight, so they could get heat stroke or sunburn much sooner than they normally would. Thus, they should be careful to drink proper amounts of water and use a good sunblock, plus take breaks, as necessary. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Most tablets contain fillers, especially time released medications and not all of these fillers are meant to be broken down by the human body, they are normally just expelled in your waste. However, when you inject them, you are placing these substances into your body in a manner in which it is unable to process them out. This created the risk of blockages, which could lead to embolism or stroke. I had a stroke 5 months back, paralyzing my right side. I am now taking Storvas 20mg and undergoing regular physiotherapy. However, now I have shoulder pain, I cant lift up my right arm because of pain in my muscle and the accompanying joint pain. My doctor says I have to take this medication for the rest of my life. I am a 67 year old woman. Please advise. ## Storvas contains the active ingredient Atorvastatin, it's used to help lower cholesterol and it can cause muscle/joint pain as side effects. However, there should be other medications available that you can try that may not cause you such terrible side effects. Have you spoken to your doctor about the problem? From what I've found, Fenofibrate is available in India and it's also used to help lower cholesterol.

While traveling on a small aircraft I developed a sudden swelling on my face. It was diagnosed as Bell's Palsy. Any information on this ailment? ## Bell's Palsy is a form of facial paralysis, not swelling. What doctor provided you with this diagnosis? Have you had a stroke, Lymes disease or other severe illness recently? A sudden swelling, such as you've described, would be more indicative of an allergy.

I suffered a stroke 3 weeks ago. I'm still experiencing pain in left foot and left hand, but the entire left side body numbness I first had has lessened greatly. Though at times severe, the hand, wrist, foot and ankle pain is not constant....sort of tolerable for periods lasting perhaps a few hours, returning from semi-tolerable discomfort to outright pain that also can last for hours. It's a cycle I've yet to comprehend so I can't really anticipate when the pain's going to hit hard. This is more than the 'pins and needles' feeling I now accept as my new lifes constant reminder.....This simply is hours each day (and night) of hurt. I am a retired person. i used tobacco (chewing+ smoking). Suddenly i stopped about two years back. It was all right for about two months when I had some time utilization with an engineering college after my retirement which could not continue. Suddenly i had some stroke (Probably mental) and felt uneasiness with some tension. I consulted some physicians and got ecg done which was o.k.
