I have started taking Sprintec BC. I am only taking it to prevent pregnancy. Not to regulate my period. I had an Endometreal Ablation. 5 yrs.ago. I haven't had a period since then. Is it okay to start a new pack of pills without taking the plaseblos? Hoping that it will be long enough to be safe to have sec without getting pregnant. 3 weeks??? ## Yes, it is safe to do that, unless your doctor has said there was some reason why you shouldn't. And to be protected against pregnancy, you only need to take them for 7 days, continuously. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Have you experienced any side effects from them? ## Thanks for the reply. And yes..side effects. Nausea after taking pill.

Ok so I've been on sprintec for about 2weeks. I started my pills on a tuesday. Is it bad that I didn't start on a sunday or the after my period? If so, for my next pack should I wait wednesday, thursday, and friday without taking the pill. So I can start on a sunday? Or should wait for my period? Please reply anything will help. ## nope your body can't tell the difference between sunday and tuesday. My packs come with little stickers you can put over the days so that whatever day you start will be first ## Kate is correct, there is really no specific day that you have to start them on. Most doctors just tell patients to start them on Sunday to try to help create the habit of taking them, so their patients don't miss any pills. If you start them and you aren't on your...

I've been taking Sprintec for about 2 years now. I always take them around the same time everyday. Last week my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex (late Saturday night). The same day I took my last blue pill. I usually start my period 4 days after I take my last blue pill. Is there a possibility I might be pregnant? It's been 6 days and I haven't even started spotting yet. ## If taken correctly, without missing any tablets, hormonal based oral contraceptives are over 99% effective at preventing pregnancy, which means they are very reliable, but yes there is that small possibility that you could still get pregnant, though it's very small. I am 2 weeks late for my period so I went to the doctor. They checked me out and did a pregnancy test which was negative. I did 4 at home which were all negative as well. My doctor then prescribed me birth control (Sprintec) to help me regulate my period... So I can start it... My question is, since I haven't gotten my period and it's not Sunday, do I start the blue pills first still or take the white to help get my period? Idk... Please help. ## The pills that you take the week you are supposed to get your menstrual cycle do not contain any active ingredients and will not help you get your period. They are placebo pills and usually cause bleeding due to breakthrough bleeding, since it is a week off of the hormones in the other pills. That said, you do not have to start these on...

I've been taking tri sprintec for one month now and I've started my cycle on the 3rd white pill. should I continue taking the rest of the white pills or start my new pack? ## You are supposed to finish the week of the white pills and then start the new pack of pills, when they are finished. They are placebo pills that intended to cause the withdrawal bleed. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. Didn't your doctor provide you with any information?

Hi all - I just started taking Sprintec, I had previously been on YAZ but when the generic brand came out Kaiser made me switch to that, had tons of weight gain and moodiness so I switched to Sprintec. When I was on YAZ I was able to skip my period...basically I would just not take the "sugar" pills and go straight to the next pack of birth control. I was wondering if anyone else has done this with Sprintec and if their doctors recommended it or not. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks! ## Have you consulted your doctor? You should check with them, in most cases, unless there are certain medical reasons, it isn't necessary to have your period more than a few times a year. I am not, however, familiar with this pill, so I am not sure what tablets you'd skip to enable you...

Almost seven weeks ago I missed an active Sprintec pill and had sex with my boyfriend. I realized the next day and took two active pills as prescribed. Within the 72 hour period I took Plan B. I had a normal period a few days after this while on the placebo/white pills. I've had one period since then. I am on the third week of active pills and I have six more days to go before I should take the placebo pills. I began spotting last night. I had one large clump of blood but everything else has just been spotting. Is this normal after taking Plan B? Is it normal to have an early period on Sprintec? ## Well, you've got a lot going on there the has likely contributed to causing this spotting. You doubled up on the missed pills, then you added in the Plan B, that means you took pretty...

I started Sprintec on a Tuesday because of my very irregular periods. I was not on my period when I started taking the pills. I am now on my first day of the white pill and I have not had any type of bleeding. I'm confused because I thought I was supposed to get my period on the last day of the blue(active) pill.?? ## No, you would not get it on the last day of the active pills, because when you experience a menstrual cycle, while taking hormonal contraceptives, it is actually a withdrawal bleed from stopping the hormones for a day or two. Thus, you would need to be taking the inactive pills for a day or two, in order to experience a menstrual cycle. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. I've been taking Sprintec for about 6 months. I was supposed to start my new pack this past Sunday, but my new pack was at my apartment in a different city. Should I wait until the Sunday I finish my next period to start the new pack? Or should I just start it this Sunday when I get it? ## It isn't necessary to start it during your menstrual cycle, or on a Sunday. You can start then whenever you pick them up, but it will take 7 days, before you are protected against pregnancy again, so if you are sexually active, you should use some other form of protection in the meantime. It's just the if you start them the first day of your menstrual cycle, you are immediately protected against pregnancy and many doctors will have you start on a Sunday, so it's easier to remember to t...

I have been taking Ortho-tricyclene or the generic Tri-Sprintec for years & years but here recently instead of starting my period on Wednesdays, its Friday or even sometimes Saturday. Should I still start my new pack on Sunday????/ ## Yes it will regulate after the first month you start taking it if no ask your health care provider to switch you to another birth control pill if you think it's serious that you start it on the same day every month... Hope this helps! ## Yes it will regulate after the first month you start taking it if not ask your health care provider to switch you to another birth control pill if you think it's serious that you start it on the same day every month... I have just started Tri Sprintec. I am on the last week (white pills) of my first pack and I started my period today (June 12) and it is really light. Should I be worried or is it suppose to be light? I'm confused. ## There are hormonal based contraceptives, so it is normal for them to cause menstrual irregularities, it could be lighter, or heavier than normal, you may also skip altogether. Have you discussed the side effect information with your doctor? Learn more oral contraceptive details here.

I missed three days of the blue pills (really stressful time with a lot on my mind) I was on week two and missed Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This morning (Sunday) I woke up with my period? What do I do? I'm not sure whether to just keep going or start a new pack. ## If you miss more than 2 pills, you should go ahead and start a new pack to get back on track. You will also want to use some other form of protection for about a week, since missing even one pill can increase your chances of getting pregnant. You can always keep the ones left in this pack around, for such a time as you may drop and lose a pill, or for a future time where you would like to take extras, because having your period then would be inconvenient. Are there any other questions? ## I was wondering how thick the...

I have been taking sprintec for almost one year and I have went from size A cup size to C cup size... Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not complaining at all just wondering... Also I've always been pretty skinny and I put on 10 pounds since using Sprintec...I love it!!!! ## Yes, both can be normal side effects from hormonal contraceptives, what it really means is that your body was probably actually a little low in the female hormones and, supplementing them with the birth control, has helped to fix the problem. Is there anything else I can help with?

Ive been on sprintec fo march april. I have not missed a dose and I have taken them on time. ## These oral contraceptives definitely effect everyone differently, but I am curious to know if sprintec has been working well for you? I was just on another thread here and noticed a lady who was taking sprintec, but was very concerned because she had missed her period by a few days or longer. Same thing happened to my gf while she was on it, although I'm fairly certain that she missed a few days of taking it.

Hi, I just started Sprintec this week and I just took my 7th pill. Will I be protected if I have unprotected sex today (I mean without a condom)?? ## Also, I just had my period this week. ## Hi Brittany, From what I could gather, most birth control tablets can take anywhere from a week or two to a month to work as indicated. I'm also aware that this time frame varies for each individual and the type of birth control taken, but at this time I do not have any specific details on Sprintec. Did your prescription come with any kind of user guide by chance? I only ask because this type of information should be in your prescription as from what others have mentioned. The worst case scenario is that you have to wait as a long as a month I would imagine. Until then I would suggest continue u...

Im really afraid of gaining weight because im already a thick girl.I also wanted to know is sprintec good for acne. ## Tri-Printec is a commonly prescribed birth control medication. As with all Estrogen based medications, weight gain while taking it and, sometimes, after stopping the medication is very common. This effect should slow down and stop as your body adjusts, if it doesn't, please see your doctor. Some of these medications do help with acne, how...

I missed one pill and didn't realize it until the next day when taking my other one. I took them at the same time. The next day I had unprotected sex but he pulled out. My main concern is that my period tracker said I was fertile. I took the plan b pill 2 days later. I guess my question would be how likely would it be that I were pregnant. I take my pills pretty regularly other than that day. Also, the day before my period, I had really light spotting and felt like I had to pee a lot and it hurt. It is really freaking me out. ## I have the same problem this month. Didn't miss one though just quiet a few hours later than usual. However two days after the condom failure i took the morning after pill just to be sure. As i dont think I could have survived another 2 weeks of worry. T...

I've been on Tri-Sprintec for about a year, and over the twelve months have been regularly taking it...I usually get my period on the 2nd or 3rd day of my white pills and now I'm on the fourth. I have had sex in the past month but we were using two types of birth control. (BC and condoms). My question is should I be looking at a pregnancy test? Or do you think I'm safe and just couple days late? ## I know what you mean im really worried about that aswell . me and my boyfriend have sex almost everyday w/o using condoms. we've stopped , but i just think these pills make my sex drive crazy, still im on my 3rd white pill and its still morning but im worried about not getting my cycle , i usually get it on the 2nd white pill. although im spotting , if anyone has advice ... pl...

Hi I'm changing over my pill and was going to start when my period came missed a pill few days before my period was due and then I only spotted during this time I had unpretected sex, I also haven't had my period and don't know wat pill to keep taking? Am I high tusk of being pregnant? ## Have you consulted your doctor? There is always a risk of pregnancy, if you are sexually active and that is made greater if you missed a pill. Have you taken a pregnancy test?

I am on sprintec for quite a while now. my drug store is out of stock from it and i'll be 2 days late starting my new pack. do I have greater chances in becoming pregnant if I'm to have sex in 5 days? ## Yes, that would increase your pregnancy risk. You should make sure to take them continuously for 7 days, before having unprotected sex to avoid pregnancy risk. Are there any other questions or comments?
